  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) The only way JFP might get traded is if CC Sabathia & AJ Burnett both needed Tommy John surgery tommorrow. Then maybe, just maybe, would the Yankees even think about taking on Peavy & his contract. Why would they trade for a pitcher with an ERA north of 6 in June?
  2. I think the worst thing that we can do is somehow pray all these guys will turn it around next year. Like WC says above it is going to be hard to compete the next couple of years so we need to get what we can now, because the next few years we aren't competing with the majority of this roster. If you don't want to blow it all up while trying to get prospects, give them away for next to nothing if you can to get out of under some of these contracts and try to build a new team through FA, which I acknowledge would be pretty tough. The worst thing we can do is stand pat, pick up 1-2 players in the offseason and hope that Peavy, Beckham, CQ, Alexei, Teahen, Buerhle, Floyd, Jenks, etc turn it around, and hope Rios is as incredible last year as he has been this year.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 09:56 AM) You dont move Floyd, Danks, Hudson or Peavy obviously. The rest can go as far as arms. You'd like to at least keep Thornton, Putz and Santos out of the pen, but I'm sure none are untouchable. As far as bats. You keep Rios, Beckham, Quentin, Alexei and thats about it. The rest can go. You'd hope to get some serious value for Konerko if you need to move him to be honest. Your entire push should be acquiring some cheaper bats so that we can free up salary to possible buy some pitching next season. C Lee should be there push although they prob wouldnt even try to afford him. I'm not sure we could move Peavy. That is a huge f***ing contract, and I don't think anybody is dumb enough to take it on.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 01:41 PM) Alexei now pushing .260 after his horrible start. I hope he can figure out whatever makes him start slow, because Alexei is pretty much worthless to us if he has a .650 OPS into June every year.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) Wow, this is one of Buehrle's worst starts I can ever recall. Absolutely pathetic, heartless effort by him. How are more people not booing at the Cell? I'll agree with everything in the statement except the heartless part. I just think he's lost his velocity and that is more deadly for buehrle than just about anyone.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) Sounds like Peavy would be really upset to get traded...not! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,6040482.story I seriously dislike Jake Peavy. He can go f*** himself.
  7. Zelda 2 3D! Awesome! http://3dnes.blogspot.com/
  8. Does any contender have a really s***ty player at catcher?
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) 2005. The best and potentially worst thing to happen to the future of the White Sox organization. While I agree that may be the reason for a longer leash, I can't agree that there is anything bad to come from 2005, even if we have to suffer for another few years.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) All 15 people in attendance boo. Screw this, let's lose every game and get Rendon. This is bad. Scary bad.
  11. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) Is there any precedence for a call like that being overturned? Probably not but that ump should feel like sh*t. It wasn't even CLOSE! He'll probably say that he bobbled the ball to cover his arse. If they don't overturn the one from the 85? series, they ain't overturning this one.
  12. He was motioning him out first too. That is just crazy.
  13. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) So we shouldn't trade all of our prospects for someone who dominates there?
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 07:43 PM) Time to just blow it up and build with Rios/Beckham/Quentin/Danks/Thornton/Santos. It's going to be next to impossible to build with these starting pitchers and salaries
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) Another great start for Clayton Richard. KW has got to be on the hot seat. It's only because he's in the NL in Petco
  17. It's been over for awhile. The Twins just hit the more difficult part of their schedule, but now they will put us in the woodshed.
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) I heard that from someone... oh yeah that was from KW and Ozzie And a bunch of people here. I don't think anybody counted on this. We're in big trouble the next few years though if these guys don't turn it around as our 3 best SP prospects were given away in the last year.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) BTW, John Ely doing well again. It's fun to root for him, at least. Haha. I wonder how Peavy feels that his old team has the best record in the NL.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 06:51 AM) If Lilliputian is going up and Beckham is going down, I think we can safely say that KW's analysis of the first section of the season is "Epic fail, time to shake up". If that move happens, I'd be surprised if AJ isn't dealt. Well, we're 8.5 games back after a couple of weeks recently when the Twins were pretty mediocre. THe twins have gotten most of their 'difficult' games out of the way (ie Yanks and Bosox on road and at home).
