QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) If anyone cares, here's my Mark Buehrle wallpaper that I made a month ago. https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/bschalle/www/Base...20Wallpaper.bmp Nice

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) If true, this is a dumb idea. Juan batted .264 against lefties with a .302 obp, while batting .293 with a .340 obp against righties. If Ozzie wants to bat scott 2nd against lefties, gooch should be leading off imo. Yeah, im not sure what the hell ozzie is thinking. He'll figure it out though.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) I am confident the Indians have their own message board. His fellow indians fans dont like him. Thats why he spends all his time on a message board of the wrong team.

QUOTE(ptatc @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) I'm happy to see you're going to roll over. I for one will fight for Sox to convince people otherwise. Do you really care that much about the media? Baseball isnt about what the media thinks (apparently you think it is). I would much rather enjoy watching the sox games this season than worrying what the media thinks. Have fun convincing the media to think otherwise. It wont help us win so i could care less.

QUOTE(ptatc @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) Does anyone else have XM radio? I love the new 24/7 MLB station. However today Rob Dibble and Kevin Kennedy were interviewing Mark Mulder. They asked him that since he was a Cardinal now "was he a Cubs or Sox fan." Mulder responded "I was a Sox fan". Dibble said "you are just playing up to the Cardinal fans there are no White Sox fans, I know because I played for the Sox, there are no White Sox fans." It's this perception by the national media of "Chicago is all Cubs" that drives me crazy. We've discussed this topic too many times. This is the way it is always going to be. Deal with it.

QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Wait a minute. If it blew back in did he ever really litter? They should charge him with intent to litter.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) Keep Contreras from falling in love with his splitter. Contreras is going to be project for Cooper. Besides keeping him from using the splitter too much, he also needs to help Contreras get is fastball over the damn plate because thats one reason he used his splitter so much last year.

Fiction- 4 guys will win between 14-18 games this year though. Fact- We are done making deals. fact- I think he will pitch between 140-150. Fact- He should reach the low 30's in saves. Fiction- Pods will not set a career best in OBP or avg. Fiction- Thomas will be plagued with injuries this year. Fact- Frank will be out. Giving Everett at least 350 AB. Fact- John Garland and Jose Contreras will both throw a CG Shutout. Fact- They have the stuff to win the ALC.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) Funny Ebay item of the week. Why does it have 20 bids? He writes a creative story on ebay and makes 20 bucks off of a frickin puppet. Who is stupid enough to bid on this.

Very clever.

I didnt really like I, Max. I think Max is a pain in the ass and the guests he has on are annoying.

QUOTE(ptatc @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) I agree that morneau>konerko, although PK will still be a good player. However Mauer>>AJ. Explain to me how Mauer>>AJ. AJ is a career .294 hitter. Mauer has 100 career AB in only 35 games. He still needs to prove himself. and until then AJ>Mauer.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) IN reality, how many better #2 catchers are there in baseball. 6

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) i prefer to believe that moving to a hitter's park is going to help Pods like it did Uribe. What are you talking about. Juan Uribe came from a hitters park. He played at Coors field!

QUOTE(beck72 @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) the sox seem "desperate" to change its team from one of power to one focused on pitching and defense. Rosenthal doubted this change would work, and seemed sure the sox would be looking for more power come July. I dont see how we are lacking power. Rowand 25 Dye 30 Konerko 35 Everett/Thomas/gload 35 Podsednik 15 Crede 20-25 AJ 20 Iguchi 15 Davis 8 Uribe 25 Perez 5 Bingo. We still will hit in the 230's in homers.

I dont think Cleveland, Cincinnati, philly or NYM are better than us. I say we are about 12th until we prove otherwise.

QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) Just a story about Thomas ridiing with Conseco in his Ferrari after a card show in Miami, they were challenged to a street race, were going 130 and came to a curve on the expressway and Canseco lost control, went into a spin, but then saved it before they hit anything. Funny quote about Thomas though: I can imagine them street racing. -
QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) Good read. I also write for sports day. My latest article: http://www.chicagosportsday.com/news/white...1108108365.html Thats cool.

Ordonez signing a colossal mistake
Chisoxmatt replied to Scwible's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Whether its the worst deal of all time or not the Tigers definitely screwed themselves on this deal. Even if maggs is healthy they will be trying to get rid of that huge contract. -
How many games are you going to this year?

QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Feb 12, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) Living in Los Angeles, I'll see 2 or 3 down in Aneheim, I've got tickets for 2 games in San Diego, and I'll be home for two games at The Cell against the Dodgers. Wow 7 games and you live in LA. Thats damn good considering alot of people that live in the Chicago area only go to 5 games. -
Wow. We are going to see a lot of LH pinch hitters in the 9th this season.
