Sox taking it slow with Rodon during ST
Good. Wasn't looking forward to Hahn calling up Brad Penny for a reunion.

Sox taking it slow with Rodon during ST
So on Garfein's podcast, they played the Hahn press conference. They asked him if there were any injuries on day one and he had a very strange pause and said he hadn't seen the report.

I don't like last second ISOs, especially for a shot that bad, but he did hit him on the elbow. That actually does affect the shot a lot more than the hand/wrist.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
I thought Hillary Clinton was rich from accepting all of the foreign donations into the Clinton Foundation as a slush fund to then buy a bunch of henchman to start a child sex ring in the basement of comets pizza.

He's scheduled to start today. If he doesn't pitch then we should be worried. This is Tommy John season.

Just laughed at myself, among other not good signs. I really want a competent person there!

Sigh, was really hoping he would accept. Not a good sign.

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
That MLB network countdown is such garbage, but I think by it's nature it will get weird results. Easier to do top 10 by positions than a top 100. But judging by the value positionless boppers like Hanley Ramirez got this offseason, does anyone think he ranks as high as Quintana?

Life as a New Parent
The only thing we really followed was making sure he slept as much as he wanted. Got him to 4 feedings and then he was on a 7-7 schedule by week 4. Has made it all a lot simpler/easier. Wife has not had to go back to work yet though, so that's what I'm holding out for before I stop knocking on wood.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 16, 2017 -> 11:41 AM) I'm assuming he won't be a friend of labor because he's Republican, but he otherwise looks like a competent, qualified Republican candidate for the office. Right, a Republican is in office, so that's to be expected. But he has experience. Resumes aren't everything though, he could turn out to be a Kris Kobach.

2016-2017 NBA Thread
I'm not a fan of the NBA this year. But I think part of that is being a bit surprised at how long it has taken some of the younger loaded teams to actually gel. I'd have expected Utah to be better. I'd have expected the 76ers to be better. I'd have expected the TWolves to be better. I'd have expected the Bucks to be better. The pelicans. Meanwhile these teams with much less talent at a CW level keep beating them. Can someone explain how the Atlanta Hawks are 5.5 games better than the Bucks? Maybe next year we'll see the leap. Bulls took 2 years after Rose to make a legit jump. OKC had a sudden rise. But, this is why I'm not looking forward to a rebuild. It takes so much longer than you think.

Yeah, I mean Yemen not allowing us to do counterterrorism activity anymore is kind of a big deal. They didn't even pull that after our funding of the Saudis led to that terrible wedding bombing a few months back.

While 22 billion is certainly high, Snapchat has been very successful in selling their ads compared to twitter. Brands and others have flocked to it.

Baseball America: Top 30 White Sox Prospects
It would really help his case if he could show off he can play some additional positions. But his speed and plate discipline makes me think he could have a few years if it works out. Really hope he does well in AAA and we see him this year. But Jake Peter will have a strong case too.

If the Bulls actually were sold, I'd imagine they would go for at least 2x that.

A farm-focused Spring Training preview - 7 storylines
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 15, 2017 -> 09:25 AM) I mean, he definitely improved in 2016 at AAA. And it wasn't just luck, there were actual changes he made in approach that led to them. I talked with him about them last year. That said, even with the improvements he was still striking out about 26% of the time, in his 3rd/4th go-around at AAA. I'm a skeptic, I think he will swing and miss too much to stick around in the majors for long. He won't make enough contact for the power to play. And he won't draw as many walks when no one is afraid to throw him good strikes. I hope I'm wrong though! Yeah, Hayes was talking up this offseason though too based off of the hitting camp in early Jan. Started to get pumped up. Unlikely, but we deserve our own unlikely story.
