  1. I agree it's gone by pretty quickly. My youth is over. God, by the time 2016 comes around...i'll still be behind ss2k5 in posts by about 30,000, but my youth! My youth will be over!
  2. I doubt these online vids are giving them any profit. Plus the ad pulls on his show surely aren't helping him.

  6. Glenn Greenwald has deja vu Don't blame him. Seems the only unquestionable position you can have in american political discourse is WAR WAR WAR, it's only those that say "wait a second" that get put under the microscope. http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/200...iran/index.html
  7. QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 1, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) There are reasons we do not want them on US soil. all of them are misguided. edit: we already have terrorists in US prison...see original WTC bombings.

  9. Seriously, your posts make me incredibly thirsty/longing for sunlight/beaches (come november...Florionopolis). If I'm ever in FLA, presumably that's where you live, I'm expecting some top notch drinks to me made.
  10. What did they commit in that article? Like 30 mill? Where the hell does that money come from when no one can find a situation where these dudes have been hired before? Also...a town WANTING GITMO detainees? f***in do it.
  11. That didn't have to do with fathers biting their child's eyes out... http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/...ana.php?ref=fpa What the HELLL!?!?!?! A security firm no one's heard of gets MILLIONS to run an EMPTY JAIL?!?! They come into the town with police tags as a sign of good will? Is this the foot gang?

  13. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 1, 2009 -> 03:16 AM) I'll summarize for you. They are using procedural hocus pocus to attach the public option to another bill that's completely unrelated. Now you're informed. Or something. Snob. I know this is your field and all but it's sort of funny how you dismiss things summarily when it doesn't fit your view yet when it does, you're apt to not say stuff like you just posted. And I really am kidding about the snob comment. You write well - a lot better then most of these so called professionals. sorry, my sentence was incorrect, I actually read the article. It must be the guys first time learning how congress works. besides that, Pelosi would be furious if they didn't reconcile the bill with the house resolution. It always kind of astounds me that republicans don't realize that Reid is such weak sauce, completely moderate and actually their best friend.
  14. I'll read that when the writer gets an understanding of what the hell he's talking about.
  15. haha. Lost was sidetracked putting in a facebook status update that he was about to post a warning at soxtalk.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) I wanted in on the beta test group but didn't get picked. 100K user beta starts today. yeah neither me, nor my friends got picked either. Damn.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) Yeah, but they're appointed for life so that they aren't pressured by politics so much. how is this pressured by politics, they ignored an issue for years because it was too hard and so state/local/fed gov'ts ran wild not caring, they basically just punted for years, and now they are going to punt again. They are supposed to interpret the constitution. So do it.
  18. your right. We should let all companies compete against state lines (to insure no regulation) and mandate everyone buy insurance (as every bill has). That way we are protecting business! America's business is business!
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 06:05 PM) This means that any specific stand taken is, in essence, legislating from the bench, and would be labeled as "activist" or otherwise panned by one or both parties politically. Of things I absolutely don't care about, the quote above. Clearly the lawmakers at local/state/fed level are looking for some guidance on what is constitutional and what isn't. In other words, do your job. Setting standards can help.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 05:52 PM) It's really difficult to get into the program though IIRC. Yeah. I didn't try, but i was in this, looking back, lame program where we did freshman orientation/parent orientation, and of that group, it looked very well on these types of programs radars. Now I can't stand it.
  22. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 06:01 PM) Wow, really? (goose stepping)... The government needs to do everything for me. /official drone yep.
  23. thought this would happen. Also, was kind of annoyed that the SC is continuing to take such vague stands that open it up to case by case rulings. Surely they can come up with SOME standard to apply here.
