  1. Romy - too good for ACL
  2. Jordan Sprinkle, hitting 1.000
  3. Very dalquistian start
  4. wow 77 still didn't make it with 90 wins? Brutal year.
  5. my bad, just cleaned up the pins.
  6. This is where I wish they'd have a serious discussion on shutting down grandal. Is Severino/Sheets better than Grandal Sheets? Right now definitely. 2021 Grandal? No way. But what are we really looking at next two months.
  7. Rodriguez continues to just be a fascinating prospect. He's always been fun because despite being young with no pedigree he'd produce when no one else was. Then finally this year he was the odd one out. Completely devoid of hits and power to start year, he starts with addressing contact, now it feels like he's re-adding in power. Like he just recalibrated everything.
  8. I think this is a result of the new cba.
  9. Just a 24 year old catcher, crushing AAA with a low k rate, after watching one with a 30% k rate succeed at age 26. Nothing to see here
  10. He was insanely hot, I think this is just normal.
  11. I’m sorry you are jumping in late and it hurt your feelings. Someone implying Sox fans have no right to advocate for a .500 team to improve at the deadline because people also wanted the 2005 Sox to improve at the deadline and they still won a World Series is making a dumb argument. Especially given that people weren’t wrong to advocate for making improvements in 05 - it was a special year no one wanted to waste. Thankfully nearly all the pitchers kept up their pace.
  12. I fail to see the sliding doors trade in 2005 that would have led to them losing the World Series opportunity, and also would have made the post World Series run much worse. 1 ALDS loss would have been compromised oh noes
  13. That post 59 offseason looks horrible, going all out for 1960 and then they were so close for years after that where Callison, Battey for sure could have put them over the top in 62-65
  14. Jon Daniels made back to back World Series and isn’t the GM anymore. Dbacks group is only 2 years old. Rockies I think are tied. They technically won a playoff series during same tenure as Hahn so I give them the edge.
  15. Probably our best coaching staff, but considering how Burke has struggled…
  16. 50s/60s Sox, had they just been in the NL, I feel like would have had 4-5 pennants instead of 1.
  17. It was alluded to, and I’d bet he does. Perks of his mono.
  18. So this would be an example I’m trying to understand. I guess I though Gms under the Sox, until maybe like Hemond, we’re more like scouting directors and such. The Sievers for Earl Battey trade is legend in my family because my great uncle curses Veeck to this day for it. I do think it could have led to one pennant more in the sixties even with the power house Yankees. The Sabr article like this, it’s always referencing owners who lead the charge: https://sabr.org/bioproj/person/roy-sievers/ Do we really have a permanent white Sox set up where I can attribute the bad moves to the owner and good ones to the GM ? I kinda love that.
  19. 16.5 game lead too, nearly lost our lead and our fifth starter ran out of gas. Fans were right then too, always are, vs the people that pump sunshine into this shit group.
  20. Why can I never remember this, is this from fangraphs?
  21. Nice start for Brooks Baldwin, 2-2 with a double
