The article didn't explain why working out with Sanders was illegal...what's the rule here? -
True, I chose Thornton anyways.
-
good lord that was depressing.

Corinthians draw 1-1. Really sloppy first 5 minutes led to the goal.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 03:38 PM) Story line, like a playoff birth perhaps? I wish, the only one that seems to stick is if the city is coming off a tough time, or they are the red sox or cubs.

I have no idea i'm a continent away. I'm hoping the home field will help us eek out a win, not so confident otherwise. -
I guess I'm just not seeing the logic in devaluing what the saints are doing because their offense slowed down. To me that shows they are a more complete team. In two games where their offense struggled, their defense picked up. Now against the bills that's not a great feat, or against the jets, but few teams have killer defenses plus killer offenses. The Vikes needed a miracle throw to beat the 9ers when the 9ers were out their best offensive player BY FAR. Gore is the niners offense. Against bad defenses the Saints blew the teams the hell out of the water, against good/great defenses they did what it takes to win. They have a great QB with tons of threats, and now their D isn't effing them over.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) Why not? 0-0 going into the bottom 7. Two young pitchers battlling it out. Two different styles of play. Jim Thome hitting a bomb, BA catching a sinking liner. It has everything that you could want from a good baseball game. Yeah, sorry, pitchers duels don't really capture the imagination of fans that don't have an invested interest as much as big comebacks or back-n-forth games like this unless there is a perfect game/no hitter/20 k game going on, or story line.

as a casual baseball fan, last nights game was better. (meaning if i were, but i'm not, i'm awesome) But, the crowd was so batsh$#% crazy last year, coupled with numerous reports that the 05 white sox had the loudest authentic playoff crowd they've heard, just brings it home to me, that there is a mutual understanding, if you win, sox, we'll show up, and we'll give you the best crowd you could ask for.

dude has some effed up ears.

I'm embarrassed for him. http://pitchfork.com/news/36686-rivers-cuo...ins-iraditudei/

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 12:42 AM) I agree, of course Honduras would sell the rights to the game to make an extra dollar. Bull s*** I guess I'll give them a break, you know, cause they're in the middle of a coup, and all.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) The saints prove every year that they are way too soft to be considered elite. K, they just went up against arguably the best, fiercest d in the league thus far, and it was their D who beat the s*** out of the jets. So, yeah i think they are a force this year.
-
Really hope Danks starts showing power next year.

As I've said before, to fit into our budget plans, we are going to have to take a flier on someone. This seems the perfect candidate. Of course, I wanted Andruw Jones two offseasons ago and cursed KW for not signing him. I am an idiot.
-
FOr the moment, I'll stay off balance, and just say the laziness of the WaPo to merely frame everything in D/R and nothing else is absurd.

With the amt. of experience at that paper, with an ombudsman, you think they'd have time/resources to sit back and realizing that all they cover is politik, and refuse the content driving it. It's a disgrace.

This has now happened for 2 administrations in a row, specifically in this newspaper.

Thank you, Glenn Greenwald, for hitting everything that has been plaguing Washington news coverage for I don't know how long. http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/200...bama/index.html The whole thing is an awesome smackdown, but the choicest quotes imo are: I really thought that with the relatively-not-much-ado about the Zazi case it's because the FBI finally had a case/Obama administration was being responsible about fear mongering. But clearly they are going to use it to justify his stupid opinions about FISA and the should-be-reformed measures of the Patriot Act. But because people in the beltway are so obssessed with getting a "scoop" the following happens. "Oh what!? You're going to talk to me! Let me write all this down. Sure. Sure. Anonymity? No problem!!!" It hasn't been a good decade for WaPo, or a good week. They have no idea what's going on. They don't give any context. They merely serve to focus on two things: Democrats and Republicans. They choose to focus on talking points rather than content. So they can go to hell. F*** balance, it's the most misused part of the important basics of news. Balance is not = coverage for political parties, it's a onslaught of a variety of views/topics/people/SOURCES injected into the audience where critical thinking can be made. Fall apart and die, most national now newspapers deserve it. edit: mods, title should obviously say "Post"

I have optimism they will move away from "raid" solution, and it should be mentioned, the city is 15 mill large, so 2000 is obviously still high, but it's also one of the biggest cities in the world. But, The inhumane things US cities have done to their poor is move them, put them in shelters to hide them, with favelas, i just hope that brazil doesn't bring a big war to them.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 04:54 PM) Is there a better DC anywhere than Gregg Williams? It's between him and Lebeau as far as I'm concerned.
-
I just think we should be talking about the Saints. That convincing win on Sunday was huge, and very convincing for me. Brees didn't even have a great game, and they put 21 on a defense that I find to be the most dominating in the league.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) That's like saying the World Trade Center is a hole in the ground. Well, I guess I can propose they cross two twigs over ground zero. It would put an end to the years of failed planning.
