i do think, however, that grand funk has been given far less credit than they deserve...a lot of bands emulated them for a while.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) Took a really cool Indie Rock class back in college. Got to hang out at Steve Albini's studio one day, and then Jeff Tweedys loft on the Northside another day. If I had been a fan of Indie music before I had taken that class these two experiences would have been high on my list of coolest things I've ever done. Albini was a character... Tweedy was his mellow self... Very cool stuff though. did tweedy fall in love w/ your girlfriend.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 04:51 AM) Erase Eratta has a couple of good cd's. i really like the one mastered by weasel walter (i think it has boxing grasshoppers on it). i saw them live and they totally couldn't play their instruments. good studio band, bad live band. oh, and it doesn't really matter what they look like. 90 day men definately aren't a festival group. i'm friends with some of those guys and i doubt the'll be playing again any time soon. only reason they played intonation was the money. the Boredoms are great. they've been around for a while and a lot of people know who they are. Yes, the boredoms are great...but not a lot of people know who they were there. And what was special was their set up...the three drums , it was a setup i didn't expect. my reviews were based on performances not bands careers.
  6. man i was suprised with montero tonight...our bullpen tonight was OONNNNNNN
  7. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:26 AM) That's a liberal fantasia. The amendment says that any flag desecration can be punished, but we all know they won't pass any law that punishes...skid marks...flags in the rain...flags on the ground...flags on tp...only the desecration of flags for political statement, not crass showboat commercialism, is really at risk. Thank America's God. but its called "over-reaching" and it'll be hard to write a law that will be able to strictly call said acts not illegal, while still being able to enforce its original intent.

  9. YES! i remarked to my brother how loud the sox fans were.
  10. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) Dumbass... When they need a boost, they throw out the $100 'gas rebate'. Only when mf'in Rush Limbaugh...complains...about being treated like a GOP whore...(let that sink in a while)...THEN they whip out the flagburning amendment. do you listen to lumbaugh?
  11. the fans at NIU pay more attention then the fans at Mizzou was my experience...mizzou's football was pathetic.
  12. man, i know i haven't read all of this thread or any of it...but it sure does seem that this amendment only gets thrown out there when the GOP needs a boost...its prolly best it never gets voted into law or they wouldn't have it to fall back on.
  13. man thornton looks confident doesn't he?

haha, for the longest time i just didn't understand. All i saw was this girl giggling and i definitely did not think her pants were too tight...i finally accidentally scrolled right and started laughing uncontrollably
  15. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 09:01 PM) Personally I think that every state should be cut up into equally sized squares. This funny business that both sides are involved in regarding redistricting is just awful. this just isn't a very good idea. there'd be districts with like 500 people and ones with 5 million...
  16. good job in the seventh... GREEN/Thome 0-1...s***, that advice didn't work!/GREEN
  17. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) Isn't there some more important things they could focus on like I dunno...the rebuilding of New Orleans, the wars, poverty, minimum wage, energy policy, etc. i found our pimp...
  18. what does GBP 2.2 million mean.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) And his 300+ lb. frame doesn't hurt intimidation, either. haha, i was just gonna say that
  20. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) Hahahahahaha. You're trying to say that this wasn't done to wrest more seats to the GOP, that part was only coincidence? That's hilarious. The real issue is pretty transparent here. whoever is in control every ten years does the same thing the texas gop'ers did. I don't see the big deal.

  22. this post makes me think many people have little experience with the scientific community. Where accuracy and support is everything.
  23. i bet scalias dissent was awesome.
  24. interesting...i wonder if we will see redistricting like every 4 years now.
