    QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 08:55 PM) just me then. no no... i'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find a person who doesn't like no way out
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Perhaps if you read the 2 page thread, you'd see that multiple people pointed out differences (myself included) - and at least one person dismissed it in its entirety. Also, if you read my post, you might see that there are indeed some significant parallels, to go along with those important differences. no no no, I am not gonna read on my day off, bro, not gonna happen. From this point on i will not read a thing. Good day soxtalk
  3. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) I'm not sure if this applies in Colorado, but in many places you can challenge the accuracy of a portable breathalizer and request to be taken down to the station to blow into the more accurate instrument. Since it usually takes 10-30 minutes to get to your town's police station plus at least a few minutes of paperwork and allowing the instrument to warm up/calibrate, there's a good chance that your alcohol level will go down over that time. If Pete had done that, there's a very good chance that his BAC could've fallen 0.009 points by that time. EDIT: Oops, didn't know about his BAC going up the second time. Yikes. You can find better cheap beer than Coors. Yuck... of course we can.
  4. i haven't read the thread...but i'm just hoping someone else took the time to show why this is a poor comparison.

    QUOTE(BoKnows @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) if you got pitchfork, make sure you check out Os Mutantes. they're - a few members but i think it should still be pretty cool. I'm a pretty big tropicalia fan. Into got blue cheer and rory erickson so p4k got os mutantes. pitchfork seemed like they were competing with vice with their lineups. I think pitchfork won, but also they are severely suffering from a lack of diversity...few hip hop/electronic acts on the big stage, you can only take so much indie rock.

  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) That's not what he said. He said he was .008 OVER the limit. The limit being .08 and the guy was .088
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Man, Flaxx...it seems to me like you're really stretching to find hypocrisy there. Yeah, I'm sure there are fundamentalist christians who are using these facilities and at the same time opposing the research, but I don't see much use in pointing it out unless you can prove to me that a large majority are. Seems like you're straining to find a group of people to go after specifically. I think it makes the point well enough to say that opposition to stem cell research for religious reasons not teamed with a desire to outlaw in vitro fertilization clinics that use current methods is quite hypocritical, whether or not people are making use of those services. i think its a pretty damn good point flaxx made.
  14. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) que? .008 is not illegal... .080 would be.

    from the green album on...for one cuomo stopped singing and started this spoken word s***, stopped writing meaningful songs, and their songs stopped building up, also they all have this formula of refrain, chorus, refrain, guitar solo, chorus...and it was all such a joke compared to their first two albums. It makes me angry to this day. Its apparant to me that matt sharp meant a lot to that group.

    QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 07:02 AM) Care to elaborate for those of us not keeping an ear to the music industry? Cuomo said they will not reform. again. But i choose to believe this time is for real...because it NEEDS to end...10 years too late. They coulda had a flawless output. Michael jordan syndrome i guess.
  21. QUOTE(SnB @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 03:16 AM) It really was a shame, he loved it here, we loved him here, wish it would have worked out. couldn't have said it better.
  22. is it just me or didn't the guy say he wasn't a racist in the article.? Still terribly written and a horrible pointless article. Like alan grant just got out of creative writing. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 06:20 AM) That would be a terrible idea... just let this stuff die... sure he might make some money... but if there is any truth behind the rumors, you can bet your ass the muck rakers will find it. Bottom line is Bobby is damn fine ball player, living in a very diverse city, playing in a very diverse club house, and his superiors are a Latino, an African American, and a Jew. Any racist views he may have had are obviously in his past... he should just continue to let his actions speak to his defense... and this crap will just die. Hunter S. Thomson and Bill Simmons are the only writers I liked... great post through and through tealeaf RIP hunter!
