Just to add on, since the sox aren't concerned about winning, Remillard has been in the org since 2016, this would have been a cup of tea to a guy whose worked his ass off despite not being the most talented. He plays nearly every position except center. He was part of the 2016 championship Coastal Carolina team. But instead keep sosa on the bench for 3 games, lead off in 1. Just chefs kiss.

hell Zach Remillard for a weekend is just as acceptable if you don't want to pull up Yolbert. He is versatile, old, and walks a lot. Absolutely zero reason to leapfrog Yolbert for only one weekend.

If they were only going to use him for a weekend, there are guys in AAA who are older and more ready to burn an option on.

omg hahahahAHAHAHahahahaha

6/28 GT: Sox @ LAAAAAA - WHY IS TLR STILL HERE?
bmags replied to ChiSox59's topic in 2022 Season in Review
man this really drove it home how uphill this climb is. Basically need a run like the cardinals put together. Hard to care as much about getting healthy when most of those guys have been miserable at the plate for months. -
Another walk for Hernandez, now has nearly equal BBs to Ks
-
Very against Hahn being able to retool. He has zero talent to scout major leaguers. Will always fall in love with players who are older because they are cheaper, and after ten years he’s still Charlie Brown lining up for that football. Maybe a fourth degree would help him learn.
-
*Would be nice edit: nvm just ignore too much editing to make it coherent
-
Yeah exactly. Nice to have a pitcher not throwing 4+ BBs every game but we’ll see how he stand’s against more mature hitters. Nice start though.

I remember when I delivered Tony at the hospital all those years ago. Took one look and handed him to his parents. “This kid sucks at lineups lol” I remember saying.
-
Loving what we’re seeing from Erick Hernandez so far. Ks a tad high but still too early to care. Great BB rate already.
-
Also it’s the lakers. This shit works out for them all the time. No org deserved a trophy less than they did in 2020. They were dysfunctional and dead in the water. Then Lebron left Cleveland for them. Then AD forced his way there.

I think it's fine to criticize it, as they get up the chain their profile starts to become real. The reason I brought up his Krate being stable at a good 17% is that it would be more worrisome to me that he could still add power if he was K'ing 30%+, or that he could find some additional patience. He's at least moved to the part where he is making good contact, in June he has a .280 avg and only an 11% k rate. So he can be more aggressive in taking some cuts without spiraling into uselessness territory, and take some more pitches without the same worry. Hopefully he does it, but he can repeat AA again and it'd be fine. He could stay in it for 3 more years and still be ahead of where Mendick was level wise.
-
It's all fair to criticize. Considering the org, they have had absolute control over the decisions of which players to acquire, health staff, strength and conditioning staff, player development, etc. Considering Hahn actually did inherit one of the best operations in baseball in keeping players healthy / the synergy between scouting, coaching, health in Schneider/Cooper and how it is decidedly not one of the best operations in baseball (though hahn will be quick to point out it isn't the worst) I'd say another feather in the cap for Hahn's determination to make a decidedly below average baseball ops organization.

Jose Rodriguez now up to .251 average, but still single heavy. Maybe Menechinos been in his ear.
-
I am completely surprised how durable Montgomerys approach and patience has been in his career thus far.
-
Great start for Tommy Sommer too
-
Absolutely wild that Logan Glass, who just had put nothing together across his first several years in A ball, is called up on an emergency level to Charlotte and is smoking XBH all over the place.
-
There is something terrifying about that first car ride. I think it’s just that the mom just completed an arduous, taxing journey without a hitch and you just have to hit a pedal to go zoom and if you hit a curb everyone will kill you. much harder for a man
-
Was just wondering what the heck was going on there. Maybe he’s an emergency body but he’s playing?

People don’t go to minor league games to see winning teams.
