  1. I took @BamaDoc back to the future (you had it as 8/16)
  2. I think something that really, really, really annoys me was brought up on hoge and jahns today. You have to believe it's Nagy that chooses Jimmy Graham and that caused one of leno or fuller to need to be discarded. One had to go, but if you got rid of grahams 10 mill or so you could have made it work. TE is so important to his offense right? Graham got 13 snaps on Sunday. You had to cut a full time left tackle and quality starting CB for a role player? It's a huge deal, and it seems like he has been unable to fit his offense to his pieces, and instead demanded dollar store clones of his 2017 offense at the price of real strengths on the team.
  3. I am not shocked there. Very disappointed. I wanted him gone after last year, but still thought it's possible as a ceo type coach he could succeed. For as much as we talk about hte quick hooks on coaches sometimes, nagy has not seemed to improve his decision making in year 4. It feels like it has gone the other way. The roster isn't that talented, and honestly he'll probably get what that roster should get. But he does seem to make a lot of really bizarre decisions. I do get calling your own plays even if you aren't good at it. You never know if you'll get a HC gig again, wouldn't you want to do it while you can? The other stuff though, absolute dreck.
  4. Like he’s struck out 48% of the time and if he’s selling out for power that’s netted him like a .130 slugging
  5. I try not to care about bad performances but man Elijah Tatis year… there’s “replacement level” production then there is “guy off the street” production… Hard to believe even a random high school baseball player couldn’t recreate his numbers.
  6. Another Quezada homer, and a strong finish for Ramos.
  7. The White Sox are a team. But they are also individuals.
  8. Interesting Cameron Butler is playing second base tonight. Kath, Colson 1-2
  9. Ha I was going to just put "sox got yonder alonso" but thought it would be too confusing.
  10. but we are disagreeing that they were going all in with andy dalton if fields hadn't fallen into their lap. They weren't. They were in between, they knew they were in between, which is why nagy and pace sticking around seemed so disappointing because it meant they were extremely secure in their jobs, which still sounds like it will be the case.
  11. I am very happy and enjoying but I do agree with @Texsox, september baseball is just a slog even when it is meaningful. more sports come back, school is back, etc. If regular season ended in august and the playoffs were september it would be way better but it will never happen.
  12. oh if they had just re-signed leonard floyd instead of letting him go and spending on robert quinn.
  13. me in 2017 "what will soxtalk be like when we're out of this rebuild, up 10 games in september?" soxtalk 2021 "isn't corbin burnes actually wesley snipes?"
  14. See I don't think this is fair even as I think they've sucked. The recent article came out showing bears were heavy in on stafford. They went after russell wilson. They went into draft extremely likely to get a QB, they just happened to be able to get one of the best ones expected to go. They were clearly trying knew nothing mattered until they had a QB. And if they just wanted to make this year be fantastic, they would have kept fuller and restructured even more of quinn and mack's deals to make it work. They tried to get by. Really though you could point to a number of things why pace should not still be leading the f.o., but the 2020 offseason he sought to extend this core's window and signed quinn, graham, and traded for foles, and re-signed cohen and trevathan. Those players cost you fuller, kwiatkowski, leno, and soon to be Arob.
  15. This thread had some excellent Orlando Als cheesy Beef interplay. Here's something fun. Let's check out the 4th round of the 2016 MLB Draft. The Brewers got Burnes The Padres got Lucchesi The Indians got Bieber The Red Sox got Dalbec The White Sox got Jameson Fisher In the 3rd round The As got Sean Murphy The Orioles got Austin Hays The Dbacks got Jon Duplantier The Nats got Jesus Luzardo The Cards got Zac Gallen The Dodgers got Dustin May The Padres got Mason Thompson The Astros got Jake Rogers The White Sox got Alex Call ?
  16. yeah that has been pretty cool. I would probably still start him in kanny next year but our catching depth is extremely weird down at that level.
  17. I just have so much confidence in Lynn, that either he will be very good, or he knows his body so well that he will figure out in short order what is needed to keep himself good.
  18. What he says he wants and what he continues to deliver are just two different things for way, way too long.
  19. Are these mlb pipeline grades? Because if so who cares, they have roughly 6 million players at a 45. It means “not ranked by other publications so we don’t want to stand out, will put him at the score nobody will punish/praise us for”
  20. Seriously. That was a fun series against a team fighting to keep their season alive and we very nearly swept them. They were shorthanded, but fortunately for other teams we have to say that about them but never need to qualify our own success or losses on that. I imagine a lot of the board was at the game yesterday, it was hot as hell but a good time. Very likely my last regular season game, hopefully I can get a few more games in october.
  21. Birmingham has by far our best coaching staff and is probably the best prove it grounds. I'm excited for him to show off there. Charlotte has basically just been a holding pattern for our players after they have proven it in AA.
  22. I think the Rams have something to do with it, this is what their defense does. It is theoretically what ours does too, but we have a knack for grabbing the worst disciples of a coaching strategy to lead it. Oh and the rams are doing it with a very good secondary not a bunch of corners so bad that nobody bothered picking them off waivers when we cut half of them.
  23. I mean he coached the less old and less bad version so that’s why people didn’t like him. We have a scrap heap secondary when the rest of the league is loading up on secondary, so that we can pay Jimmy graham and Robert Quinn.
