  1. Jose Rodriguez 2/3 2B in W-S otherwise boring night
  2. Not your older selfs cannonballers, hackenberg and goose berg have them up early
  3. bunch of negative nancies. We're going to beat the piss out of these nerds.
  4. His agent and Nate were smart to take that extension that "made him a bargain". I'm sure it is hard as hell to face your body breaking down constantly and keep doing what needs to be done to try and come back at the highest level.
  5. I'm sure there are a lot of contributing factors that can chip away at the number of murders, but for the latter stuff to matter you'd need to charge and arrest more than half of murders.
  6. This whole thing of stealing cars, performing extremely visible violent acts, and ditching the cars just seems way too obvious for the ridiculously low clear rates.
  7. I'd say k rate but hello Micker. I do wish we'd seen a bit more progress on his krate. He's sub 30% now, and since july has kept it below 30%, but it's a lot. Wish they'd have moved him up though.
  8. I’ve always hoped Vaughn could be a 12% BB guy and 16% K guy.
  9. Vera 1 IP 0 H 0 BB 1 K
  10. There is benefit to Dalton playing with his teammates since they only ran 7 plays last week.
  11. I'm really bored of the "fields should start season" stuff and trying to turn it into this life or death argument. I think he probably should, but I don't really see it being a big deal if he doesn't, and that reps with ones matters but also not throwing him behind a shit o line before he has good understanding of offense can be counter productive.

Yeah, and I feel like TLR will like Hamilton on a playoff roster with 26 guys. So I still struggle to see him being DFAd. So to me it is a dogfight between burger, sheets, 3rd catcher in sept (and I would be shocked if 3 catchers weren't on roster to let Yaz stay in DH).
  13. I mainly want to tell the owners to f off but it does feel like as a fan the salary cap has, as a fan, made other leagues easier to follow, and I think baseball orgs have been interesting in how they respond to constraints added to the sport (draft budgets, etc). Much more fun as a fan when you know there is just a straight up budget you are working with that is the same as everyone rather than if the owner will be charitable with a few more million. Now, the weird thing is baseball has shown that teams can be competitive on a variety of budgets, and that has also made it interesting. But the creativity the lower budget teams have found have clearly hurt the player pool. The other thing I struggle with - everytime there is a huff and a puff about tanking teams not signing guys that are available in like Feb, when you follow-up in august so many of those guys are having awful seasons. Teams really have been pretty good at knowing when players have declined to a point of being worse than a young player. Overall, I don't want the owners song and dance and them to "win", but I do think a structure of player control only being 4 years with a 5th year option for maybe 1st round picks or certain money amount INTL guys, with a salary floor and cap is probably a more fun game to follow. It certainly would be a more fun start to FA.

I just think there are others in the pecking order while sox would probably still want to nab HFA for playoffs. Hard to leap over Sheets (LH Power), Burger, Hamilton, Seby, Collins, and bullpen. The 40 man may depend anyway on showcasing Sheets/Burger for offseason moves or decisions to keep as much as anything. But we have no idea, they've made some pretty unexpected september callups and non callups recently and there are so few sept. spots now.
  15. Sorry, crazy day, let's talk https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=08/18/2021 https://www.milb.com/scores/chicago-white-sox/2021-08-18 Exciting prospect named Yasmani Grandal already has a double for the Knights.
  16. If you take away all his games he has a 0.00 ERA
  17. It was a huge risk at the time, amazingly the oline hasn't been awful in camp from what it sounds like even injured (or our dline is terrible but I doubt that) and they looked okay in pass last week. Hopefully peters is fine, or borom is a one-in-a-thousand gem that can be a good LT as a rookie from the fifth round.
  18. Joe Musgrove: 23 GS 123 IP 10ks/9 3.11 ERA on pace for 4 WAR and a no hitter Reynaldo Lopez has thrown 25 innings mostly out of the bullpen. They are the same.
  19. That is good, but I was still hoping it was somehow just a really bad cut and bruise. He's definitely out for the season on such a great year, it's terrible.
  20. H-F alumn doing us a solid and destroying the padres from inside.
  21. weird win, glad we got it but man, the As have now had two really bad injuries at sox park. That one new yankees prospects career went sideways after he hit that electric box, and now this. Just looking at rest of the league: - Wow did the NL east flip fast. Looks much more like we would have expected after an atrocious start by the braves. That team is too talented - Seems clear to me that from now on we are going to go into each year being underwhelmed by the brewers and giants offseasons only to see them be excellent (I should add As). That front office is too good at finding talent that especially eliminates really weak links on the roster - It is hilarious to me that the padres keep losing to the rockies. Feels like the padres have 500 starting pitchers yet everytime I look they are doing a bullpen game. - Entirely unsurprised by the red sox fall. You looked at the white sox and think "how are they doing this" and it was easy - they had insane starting pitching to start year. The red sox just had a handfull of super productive players and a lot of meh and now that bogaerts/martinez are cooling off there isn't much else there.
