  1. That’d be good but I kinda dislike super tall catchers.
  2. Comas and Mieses have nowhere to go. And Even with another month in AZL before it needs to stock draft prospects, I’d rather the AZL outfield of 2019 get to full season ball than worry about Mieses and comas who have had a very gradual pushing to date. I like them both. The hardest ones are weaver and Delgado.
  3. Romine has some positional versatility as well. Maybe Hahn trades for Pedro Severino and brings the Soxtalk house down
  4. Someone like Austin Romine, who has a bad year last year but is the perfect bet for young pitchers and has shown a competent bat before, is a good match for a deal like that.
  5. I forgot the interview but Getz has said placement will be more about playing time than appropriate levels. Still here is a guess that I’m sure I’ll miss someone big on WS C - Green, K Sanchez INF - Y Sanchez, Sosa, Zangari, Quintero, Nunez OF - Bush, Mieses, Comas, Allen P- Martin, Bilous...I unno Kannapolis C - Torres, Goldfarb INF - Ramos, Rodriguez, Polanco, Gladney, Mendoza OF - Beard, Glass, Krogman, Coronado, Guerrero P - Thompson, Dalquist, Kelley, Horn, Pineda So yeah a whole lot of players unaccounted for
  6. Sox will be able to get a vet on a minor league deal with a roster bonus if he’s called up. That can give Collins a month or two to show he’s capable.
  7. The pitching story of the last five years has been the continued dominance of our star pitchers into their 30s. Greinke, Scherzer, Verlander, Lester. Darvish also has a good chance of being able to switching up his repertoire if his stuff changes. Hes a really good pitcher and his contract is fine.
  8. Same. First rounds are for corners, lineman and if applicable - QB. This is especially true in the teens as I care less if they picked a WR at like 30
  9. Well the assumption he is responding to has Hendriks signing. But it will be unfortunate for those thinking 2016 Q is walking thru that door
  10. He’s argued that reylo is better than musgrove because of Lopez 2018 bWAR.
  11. I would be fine with trading Thompson. He’s talented but a lot has to go right for him to be a starter. Musgrove may get really competitive but I’d rather Sox not assume that.
  12. He absolutely did have one awful game in 2020. Am I allowed to remove it? That’s how this works right? If we remove his game right before he went on the DL, he’d have a 2.99 ERA on the season. If you also remove his good starts for your logic his ERA would be a full run lower at 4.6. He was also changing how he was pitching which led to those final two starts and began pitching the Pittsburgh out of him. Stopped being so reliant on his fastballs and started learning how to spin his offspeed pitches and now has a dominant curve and slider and a great sinking change up, All have more movement than 2018, and weirdly his k rate explodes. Thats stuff that points to the pitcher you are going to get, but I guess we need to dig deeper. Oh weird a bunch of scouts that didn’t dig deep corroborating: https://fansided.com/2021/01/01/chicago-cubs-yu-darvish-trade-details/ “You’re not acquiring Musgrove to be Gerrit Cole. That’s not him,” one high-ranking National League official said. “You’re acquiring him because he is a lot better than he’s shown in Pittsburgh.” In 2020, Musgrove increased the usage and spin rates of his slider and curveball. He finished the season with 13 shutout innings against the Cardinals and Indians, and some evaluators who have studied him closely believe it’s a sign of what’s to come. Considering he is under control at a reasonable rate for the next two seasons and still in the prime of his career, Musgrove is quite possibly the most attractive starting pitcher remaining on the trade market. ++++ Did they not think to look at his game logs?
  13. https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2923659-2021-nfl-mock-draft-updated-picks-entering-the-new-year.amp.html This seems like a pretty realistic draft and I think it makes sense to get one of the top three tackles over going for Mack Jones.
  14. I find it hard to make these decisions in the abstract. Bears should definitely be scouting oline, but is this a good oline draft? Do we need it in first round? Theres going to be a lot of QBs in first round. Hard to make a call for me until we see position and players but I do agree the fastest way to average production out of bears QBs is thru the oline.
  15. As you’ve gone through his game log so often did you ever think “huh maybe that awful game he had that drove his ERA up so high right before he went on the DL for a month could be injury related?” or naw
  16. Back to back wins, but tonight will be tougher and again without a bunch of guys due to league protocol. Offense was really good last few days, with many players in double digit scoring.
  17. It’s also in fairfax Canada. it’s not moving to a one shot dosage like that person is trying to insinuate, it just increased the interval for the second dose beyond 21 days. I’d support it here, but only when they show they can get the existing supplies into arms. Just get all available first doses into arms now and trust the production will be there. Very little support showing huge drop offs in protection after 21 days that justify keeping millions of more people at zero percent protection.
  18. Ty cobb was actually fine, his biographer made up a bunch of shit not dissimilar to eight men out.
  19. Is this the first time you’ve ever read up on prospects?
  20. It’s pretty amazing to me when anyone can hold down multiple hours by themselves. But I am never a fan of solo shows.
