  1. Same. First rounds are for corners, lineman and if applicable - QB. This is especially true in the teens as I care less if they picked a WR at like 30
  2. Well the assumption he is responding to has Hendriks signing. But it will be unfortunate for those thinking 2016 Q is walking thru that door
  3. this warms the cockles of my heart. ❤️ JR
  4. He’s argued that reylo is better than musgrove because of Lopez 2018 bWAR.
  5. I would be fine with trading Thompson. He’s talented but a lot has to go right for him to be a starter. Musgrove may get really competitive but I’d rather Sox not assume that.
  6. He absolutely did have one awful game in 2020. Am I allowed to remove it? That’s how this works right? If we remove his game right before he went on the DL, he’d have a 2.99 ERA on the season. If you also remove his good starts for your logic his ERA would be a full run lower at 4.6. He was also changing how he was pitching which led to those final two starts and began pitching the Pittsburgh out of him. Stopped being so reliant on his fastballs and started learning how to spin his offspeed pitches and now has a dominant curve and slider and a great sinking change up, All have more movement than 2018, and weirdly his k rate explodes. Thats stuff that points to the pitcher you are going to get, but I guess we need to dig deeper. Oh weird a bunch of scouts that didn’t dig deep corroborating: https://fansided.com/2021/01/01/chicago-cubs-yu-darvish-trade-details/ “You’re not acquiring Musgrove to be Gerrit Cole. That’s not him,” one high-ranking National League official said. “You’re acquiring him because he is a lot better than he’s shown in Pittsburgh.” In 2020, Musgrove increased the usage and spin rates of his slider and curveball. He finished the season with 13 shutout innings against the Cardinals and Indians, and some evaluators who have studied him closely believe it’s a sign of what’s to come. Considering he is under control at a reasonable rate for the next two seasons and still in the prime of his career, Musgrove is quite possibly the most attractive starting pitcher remaining on the trade market. ++++ Did they not think to look at his game logs?
  7. https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2923659-2021-nfl-mock-draft-updated-picks-entering-the-new-year.amp.html This seems like a pretty realistic draft and I think it makes sense to get one of the top three tackles over going for Mack Jones.
  8. I find it hard to make these decisions in the abstract. Bears should definitely be scouting oline, but is this a good oline draft? Do we need it in first round? Theres going to be a lot of QBs in first round. Hard to make a call for me until we see position and players but I do agree the fastest way to average production out of bears QBs is thru the oline.
  9. As you’ve gone through his game log so often did you ever think “huh maybe that awful game he had that drove his ERA up so high right before he went on the DL for a month could be injury related?” or naw
  10. Back to back wins, but tonight will be tougher and again without a bunch of guys due to league protocol. Offense was really good last few days, with many players in double digit scoring.
  11. It’s also in fairfax Canada. it’s not moving to a one shot dosage like that person is trying to insinuate, it just increased the interval for the second dose beyond 21 days. I’d support it here, but only when they show they can get the existing supplies into arms. Just get all available first doses into arms now and trust the production will be there. Very little support showing huge drop offs in protection after 21 days that justify keeping millions of more people at zero percent protection.
  12. Amen
  13. Ty cobb was actually fine, his biographer made up a bunch of shit not dissimilar to eight men out.
  14. Is this the first time you’ve ever read up on prospects?
  15. It’s pretty amazing to me when anyone can hold down multiple hours by themselves. But I am never a fan of solo shows.
  16. I shouldn’t say the rest, parkins and Holmes know their stuff most of the time they are just a little more hot takey to me
  17. As long as spiegel is back I’m good. He’s definitely their best baseball reporter but to me he’s the most versatile where he always sounds like he knows what he’s talking about. The rest just seem lost when not talking bears.
  18. That was my point. He said sox don’t have a comparable package that doesn’t include Kopech/Vaughn. Then he makes one, but says it’s too much for Sox, even though it proves that we could make a similar package. The real problem for Sox is just that a package of Ramos, Rodriguez, Bailey and Bush would both clear out a generation(not sure this is right word) of positional prospects and also is weaker than the Padres offer in all likelihood.
  19. This post is just ridiculous
  20. Early in the offseason I thought the board was underrating Bauer’s personality issues, now I think it’s overrating them.
  21. Rongey has been pretty good since he’s been back
  22. Definitely better with their vets back. But feels like chances of winning depend on whether good Coby or bad Coby shows up.
  23. I think a big part of it is the feeling that the top prospects of 2019 were just wrapped in bubble wrap and are the same now. Had there been baseball, the top 100 would have seen huge churn as always. These guys being 10-20 or something means less than if it happened last winter. We just have little idea.
