  1. Lmao how many dumb excuses are you going to pull out of your ass on this
  2. The CTU pension fund is not a government handout, it is the investment vehicle for all the funds the teachers pay into. Pensions invest in a variety of places including real estate, and was already being recruited to invest in the Lincoln Yards project. Your popcorn won't be paired with something very interesting, basically.
  3. I am not sure I can buy people grouping Maye with Josh Allen. We'll see in their pro/combines. I agree he's similar to Herbert, and it's nice he's already shown a propensity to push it downfield. But games like Miami his accuracy seemed really off. But yeah, if Bears see him as top QB, that's good news.
  4. I would guess the CTU pension fund will be hit up pretty aggressively for this project.
  5. While I think the River provides a nice aesthetic, I don't think we should care too much about the water transportation. Maybe this will be a huge boon to those companies but they barely run. Would be great if it set off a group of black cab-like boats picking people up off the docks though.
  6. Just for the “lost revenue with no parking lot stuff”… 1) Jerry may still own those lots for the proposed Chicago fire stadium. 2) I encourage you to look at the Braces Holdings earnings reports. Their Battery Park mixed use development is on track to earn $60M in revenue against maybe $10M in costs. What did someone say, Sox have like 7k lots? If they filled every spot every home game at $20 a pop that’s only like $11M before paying any staff/maintenance. The reason many of us believe this will happen is because it will make people money.
  7. LMAO I have to say I’ll kinda miss just grabbing two tall boys at that state street Walgreens after work and drinking them at the edge of the parking lot before heading inside. Like drinking in an alley, it has its charms. But also everything else is better.
  8. I feel like when Bears were interviewing Eliot Wolf the stuff he got credit for was convincing Bill to spend big on a FA class which ended up being like 3 tight ends that were bad.
  9. Yes, firing belicheck and keeping the same front office, same coaching staff.
  10. I wouldn't assume too much here. Lawrence Holmes is annoying, but there are a lot of stories on this and nothing else white sox because clearly people are excited for the most part. ANd 10 minutes...doesn't seem bad. I'm sure a lot of people are like me and hate going to soldier field just for that long walk meandering walk east and racing people to get to roosevelt. And I can visualize it being like that except without the long walk east! That rules.
  11. So 2 years ago I thought Seattle would be worst team in league. Last year I thought bucs would be. And this year I just...cannot...theres just no way this Patriots stuff works. So anyway they'll definitely be in the playoffs.
  12. can't believe how bamboozled I was. They aren't the worst FO in the league (detroit), but they are the laziest. And that was my main gripe with GarPax, who could at least draft. It is what you get when a failson takes over the org.
  13. 'This is a joke, and a good one, but for any wondering this group apparently already did the environmental cleanup which was one of the reasons I first thought this may actually be happening.
  14. Just gonna throw out there that investing in a large real estate development may not be the same thing to Jerry as signing labor to a large contract he thinks they will decline with.
  15. I think the home plate and river front view was pretty snazzy, personally. I like that they had an upper deck in RF. But centerfield is kinda dumb to me. I'm not sure any stadium has really found a nice looking solution for the needs of that center field space. But also we all know it'd be a year before much of that view gets ads.
  16. If you are someone who would require parking I recommend looking at how US Bank stadium (Vikings) handles parking. There is very little visible parking at the stadium, yet it has about 20k spots available in the near radius. That's for something with 73k capacity. What that should mean will be a) certainly any families with accessibility needs are likely still going to be able to have some parking under or close to stadium. B) many of the rest will be accommodated in mixtures of garages in the immediate area, though not all right next to the stadium. That's not a particularly dense area. 20k is certainly less than the capacity now, when you think about "well if you don't need a car I'm sure you don't care" is also that many of the people that are in between (like me) will probably choose public transit, lowering the amount of cars that need to be there. WHile there was public transportation prior (that I still mostly take when by myself), it also funneled everyone to two lines. North/South taken care of by Red. West/South by Green. Adding Red/Orange/Blue and Green will all be served within close walking distance. A 192 bus can run to Ogilvie/Union station. You had like the state street bus before. Just a lot more options.
  17. Was great reading positives like this for Nastrini.
  18. Mena being traded for a player the Sox like means he was a successful signing.
  19. See this annoys the hell out of me. The reason many, including myself, liked Mena is because he actually pitched. He has been durable, he had pitched young for the league throughout his career. The problem with Mena is you can’t say “if he just continues on this trajectory with more experience he can succeed”… because his fastball isn’t quite there and his breaking stuff isn’t elite enough. He’s also 6’2”, and this is where smarter people than me should project whether his body type is athletic enough and has room to fill out more to add some power. But the thing with pitching prospects is them randomly just getting a velo increase happens. It turned Davis Martin from nothing to a feasible MLb starter. Now do that do a 22 year old who actually is comfortable with 4 pitches? Norge Vera was stuff first who never pitched and never gets outs. He could have a great year this year and be three years away because he’s pitched so little. In short your reference was bad.
  20. I’m intrigued by the fact that we appear to have opinions beyond what ranking a player has in last years top prospects. But he is quite short and older.
  21. There has been 2 relocations in the last 50 years though right? Montreal and Oakland.
  22. I more blame Shane Riordan (his producer), who has never gotten a story even close to right one time, ever and in general is the worst.
