but they really aren't that different of a data point because the main takeaway may be that governments may not need to shut down to influence dramatic isolation behavior. Sweden is effectively shut down.

Pandemic Reading
Ive started reading Dune. Pretty good! I’ve tried to get in more genre work for fiction since I usually fade fast in it and like nonfiction stuff more. Started some spy/mystery stuff last year, and I do think the world building / political stuff in dune so far is very entertaining. Maybe I’ll Veer into more sci fi classics.

Also the idea that life in Sweden is just going on is a false fantasy.

There's probably better ways to illustrate this than taking the handful of CEOs in the industries that in many cases provide necessary services, choosing a favorable time period and saying "see rich people get everything". How's Bob Igers net worth, dave calhoun's, any entertainment, hotel, travel ceo. And things like the S&P and even stock market growth in the last few years have been hugely driven by companies that also happen to be the ones that should be well set-up through this.

2020 MLB Draft Thread
Yeah that was in a few stories around nfl draft. The scouts kinda loved that they were so much more important since the others didn't get to rely on the late process stuff. The late process stuff is kinda garbage anyway so I'd imagine drafting is better.

I think mocks are going to be way off this draft. I'd imagine with less game tape teams are going to be diving deeper into their own process and less willing to discuss their rankings than typical.

I buzzed my head. You’d have your barber one foot away from your face breathing at you, and they’d have had multiple people breathing at them. That’s pretty risky.

Greg - go outside for walks. Get sunshine. Go to starbucks drive thru. Wear a mask, bring hand sanitizer. Keep your distance. Wash your mask, wipe down your door handles, wash your hands. You'll be fine.

Will There Be a 2020 Season?
Listen I don't disagree with you that money will be a big issue due to the variations of revenue. But I also think this is just going to be one of those things where it's going to seem like a big roadblock along the way but is almost certainly going to work out. For now, no side is going to volunteer to get screwed, so owners will announce how comfortable they are canceling the season, and big markets will say they won't share revenue, and players will say they won't cut salaries, but in the end none are going to really stand in the way of the season resuming once a plan that works logistically is in place.

Those people are idiots but I think as a whole the country has done really well despite the challenges. The vast majority of new cases are coming not from people going outside, but the places where people are forced to still be near. Meat plants, retirement homes, health care workers, police and transit workers are getting pummeled by this.- 2019-2020 Official NBA Thread
pretty cool. Worked his way up from being a store manager at nike (also played college hoops) to then move into nike corporate making player relationships. Got picked up by Bryan Colangelo in Toronto, then worked in the wizards front office before colangelo picked him up again for the 76ers. Scouting background and then hard to know really what they focus on once in Asst. GM roles but to have the path he did he's clearly a hard worker and did it in multiple orgs.- COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
The hospital in Austin off 290 just opened up a drive thru testing facility and stressed that you don’t need symptoms to make an apt. Feels like we are finally closer to where we need to be.- 2019-2020 Official NBA Thread

2018 the dem moderate candidates did quite well. 2016 was a very odd election. Regardless. Bernie said he would bring out a massive youth vote. He didn’t. He lost his rural support to Biden. He didn’t take more of the Af American vote than last time. He didn’t win over more than half of Warren supporters. He got whooped without Anti-Clinton vote.- COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Another day of 15k+ tests which is awesome news. 2k positives. Seems we’ve officially gotten over testing hump. Two straight days of lowered positive %- 2020 NFL Draft Thread
Sounds awesome. 269. Kindle Vildor, CB, Georgia Southern (5-10, 191) An emotional captain, Vildor is a heady competitor who plays fearless and trusts his instincts to point him in the right direction. However, he doesn’t have great size, speed or strength, which severely lowers his margin for error both in coverage and in run support. Overall, Vildor is a tough evaluation because he consistently overachieved as a junior, due to his smarts and short-area quickness, but he didn’t play at the same level as a senior and doesn’t have ideal size or play speed for the position. - 2019-2020 Official NBA Thread
