  1. Definitely going to GCFD and we are going to be eating out like every night and dumping our kids off at the grandparents who have only missed them for 2 weeks but they feel like it's months.
  2. ugh, my nurse/doctor neighbors were excited when this shipment came in thinking they'd be rationed less. They've been saving masks in bags then reusing them after 3 days when the virus would have died off.
  3. FDA approved.
  4. back down to 461 new cases: https://www.chicagotribune.com/coronavirus/ct-coronavirus-pandem
  5. I think it's fine for Germany, their testing is much more robust than US. US in the coming months should hopefully be able to ramp up the Abbott test to the point we have tests available for asymptomatic people. But regardless, if you did have COVID-19, please give plasma.
  6. I've been doing it with a 3 yo and 1.5 month old. I basically work from 4-630 AM, then nap time from 12-3, and am largely useless except I can participate listening in on meetings around those times.
  7. Absolutely. I think what caught them, libraries and houses of worship (which certainly around us pivoted faster to change operations around their food banks), is their planning is always how to stay open since they are safe havens. There were very few plans for what it means to stay closed for more than a week.
  8. It was only rolled out to three districts in Illinois though many more districts have done same requiring chrome books and have been doing e-learning since closure.
  9. Yes indiana has been more accepting of e-learning days statewide, but CPS has not had that history and is a gigantic school district with many kids without access to a device/internet. They are distributing 100k devices and working with comcast to get wifi hotspot access to all of them. That's a lot to figure out in 2 weeks.
  10. I just had the Lightfoot press conference on CPS move to remote schooling starting next week. I have to admit I am impressed at the speed they were able to gather the resources to pull that off and create curriculum during that time. I am so sympathetic to kids with special needs losing access to their teachers, and the parents during this time.
  11. Just be careful it's not the onset of depression or generalized anxiety disorders. That stuff can snowball fast but medication can take a bit to kick in. edit: I don't mean to be armchair physician, but I have one myself so just try to help others if that's what it is. Good luck.
  12. YEah and beach body has a 3 month free trial right now I believe.

I've yet to find a book I want to go through, too stressed. Wanted to pick up Say Nothing on the troubles for a long time but...not the topic I want to get into at the moment.

McPherson's Battle Cry of Freedom I couldn't put down. 20+ years old and still canon.
  15. For people that didn’t dig one thing in here was pritzker asked Abbott for home state preference which they said they’d oblige.
  16. much appreciated information here.

Very cool Tex. I really enjoyed “the last days of night”.
  18. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/29/us/politics/coronavirus-liberty-university-falwell.html just a Perfect example of how trolling is not a leadership tactic, then the pathetic attempt to shirk responsibility for what happens next.
  19. Are you sure you aren’t thinking of DeBlasio re: comments? Cuomo definitely made mistakes due to his ego with deblasio but I don’t remember him saying anything that made things worse. But you are right, I’ve been harping that NYS acted too slowly. Inslee, by contrast, has done a tremendous job.
  20. Lol essentially tied because of one poll where he had a 2 point lead.
  21. illinois won’t hit 10k tests a day for another ten days, which is incredibly frustrating.
  22. Still doubling every 2 days
  23. I would assume the body would be able to prevent it from storing in the throat as it kills it, avoiding the main spread. even acting as a vessel, no where near as bad since upon hand washing it is then removed.
  24. Just keep in mind it got so bad due to months of unknown community transmission. In several months we’ll have much more testing capabilities built out as well as infrastructure to handle. Doesn’t mean it won’t be bad but there will be greater opportunity to handle even if behavior is more lax. This Abbott labs test if it can scale up production quickly is a game changer.
  25. Chicago May have had a decent test bump but shocked how far behind we are on daily pace. Hoping Abbott comes into play here.
