  1. Remember when the internet was fun like chatroulette and stumbleupon and stuff and not just ... this over and over.
  2. Hard to know, they aren't particularly big movers and shakers. Last year probably the biggest since John Salmons, and then that great taj+doug for the Cam the legend.
  3. ah, I thought the $2 mill committed may have something good. Colas would be a relief, though I'm a bit surprised to read how many "7 figure" Cuban prospects there were, seems like they get such pub when they become available. Very freakin annoyed the Astros could come out and make a splash signing, ridiculous they weren't Braves'd out of international.
  4. Sounds like @Y2Jimmy0 has the goods on J2 tomorrow. Very pumped.
  5. yeah not gonna lie, aside from trading Thad Young, I did not want pax to be the one re-defining everything.

    PECOTA 2020

I know I move probably 10% as fast as moncada, but always found it less frightening/mistake prone tracking against the walls then dealing with people running toward. Always felt like when we'd try to avoid we'd end up moving to same spot.

Him and TA. Love the feistiness but no reason to push it. Also very happy Moncada no longer has the flares that send him chasing into the RFer (like at 2b).

probably still punishing him for first two years / injury penalties. I do worry about how moncada will play through ailments.
  9. wheres this? I only see cowley's bizarre embiid proposal

    PECOTA 2020

I like pecota/zips for when it thinks young players will do well or older players won't decline that much. But other than that it's helpful for OOTP.

    PECOTA 2020

I don't remember the time when a prospect of ours was predicted to be tops early, and I'm a bit surprised he'd be so much higher than moncada given the similar swing and miss. I'll take it!
  12. I canceled my bp but here is some good news (though I’m partial to ZIPS)
  13. Sox will crumble without madrigal
  14. Cease and Madrigal is a better return. Sox could have also absorbed more salary than Dodgers. Verdugo is talented, he was also clouded by his piss poor attitude and professionalism. Now full time in Boston replacing Betts that could flare up. The best thing the Sox can do to increase payroll constraints is have a lot of success.
  15. -New York Post I love some three-team action but who would we even target here...Jansen?
  16. Didn't know Levine was a Preller disciple.
  17. People think this is funny or absurd but for all offseason I heard that trading for betts would DESTROY OUR FARM SYSTEM FOR ONLY ONE YEAR and yet the trade happened, the consensus is not that the dodgers farm system is destroyed, the consensus is they kept all of their top prospects and made out fantastic and also oh wow we forgot that mookie was one of the best players in baseball wow. The white sox offseason featured searches to upgrade pitching and right fielders, names were brought up, sox made their choices, and two nights ago a bunch of pitchers and right fielders were traded but apparently that is not relevant at all to the sox and we just need to stick to #brockholttalk.com.
  18. OTOH, is the question should we be more bearish on our hitters or more bullish on our pitchers?
  19. There are so many fake obstacles in here it’s ridiculous. Oh they’d have to beat the angels offer in a short amount of time?!?!?! They’d have to trade a player teams know they don’t need? Why that hasn’t happened since...the last time Mazara was traded. It can’t be done dammit! I’ll give shorthand to the last 13 pages: any move the Sox make is not only the best move, but the only move that could ever have been possible forever and ever amen.
  20. I agree they should never let betts get away, but it's clear the luxury tax escalators are effective. The yankees have been scared off by them, the dodgers have, and the red sox have. That re-set is clearly legit.
  21. If I'm a Boston fan I'm annoyed they are doing this, but let's be real. Would you rather be the crash-boom red sox of the 2010s or the Dodgers of the 2010s? Considering the resources, I'll take the Red sox approach of going for the jugular, as they have shown the ability to rebuild quickly. If the white sox were the red sox, last year would have been competitive because they could have spent stupidly without concern for long-term tie-ups. It's only the repeater taxes that kill them eventually.
