  1. And of course, teams have found impactful pitching in that short term bucket...just not the white Sox and they’ve made no changes for us to believe this time will be different.
  2. Yes I mean I agree. But JR/Steve stone logic says that as long as you aren’t setting the new market for a pitcher you are fine. Only when you give labor a win are you in bad territory.
  3. True but quite literally what he posted the day machado signed. Id rather be rumored in the lead.
  4. Well let’s see what Sox are made of. Hahns economic might line read as if it meant with all of the players on pre arb we could spend what it takes for the players they target, not just spend on players full stop. If the Sox want wheeler for next four years they should get him, then deal with it later.
  5. So say you sign Ryu at 18 million/yr instead of wheeler at 22/yr. You have 4 million to go after a lot more pieces.
  6. The idea of “fallback option” is too old fashioned for me and I don’t think teams think that way.
  7. I would also keep in mind the Mets had some pretty trash defense
  8. I can’t tell if the dodgers would want ML piece or just to eliminate the 8 mill especially going after Rendon where every dollar counts.
  9. Especially in our division.
  10. Woof. 108. Yeah he’s too close to the “IG he regresses he sucks” line for me.
  11. Last year Calhoun was around 118 for wRC wasn’t he?
  12. It’s a good question but I’d trust Jocs age 28 season being productive than calhouns age 32 season, especially with some of his wear and tear. And I’m in the minority but I think people need to value next year more than they are.
  13. Pilkington sucks.
  14. one of the reasons rosenthal is the best one to follow is he doesn't report things like this, he waits until they are damn near done (also a reason why I think execs trust him most, he probably holds a lot of more speculative stuff)
  15. one of the reasons i wanted him last year was to give him a year to face lhp more and try and improve. But we have a good platoon boy in Engel.
  16. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2019/12/03/zack-wheeler-chicago-white-sox-free-agent/2600148001/
  17. Those poor users, that was just a glitch from the board migration and confusion on who editing usernames were under.
  18. I don't get the whole "putting your email in your twitter handle" thing.
  19. There is too much wrong with this team to pinpoint on just lauri. Almost every player is put in a position outside their strengths. Their defensive strategy is horrendous for a young team, especially in the modern nba, and they can't execute, and they can't shoot from three or make it around the rim. Lauri is the best representation of all of that failure but he is not the only one. Their rotations are also just horrendous, and they will blame it all on porter. They have had one of the easiest scheduels in the league to date, and have one of the worst records. It is not because they are young. It is year 3 of the rebuild, the coaching is terrible, the talent is not good enough, and they don't develop. And they have not gotten remotely lucky.
  20. I can tell you that stat is not indicative of the bulls D, this is a good indicator: Why does it get so much worse? It's very easy to break down. As teams put their closing line-ups in, they need only minimal patience to get past the first rotation to get easy baskets. These 4th quarter collapses aren't a coincidence, and it's not about experience. A lot of teams with good players can go into cruise control. We saw it in portland as lilliard was just facilitating all night. They didn't end up needing him, if they did it wouldn't have been hard to destroy the bulls in the 4th.
  21. You just need to post the link, change it to plain text and it will auto-populate. Updated for you above.
  22. questionable pasts sounds so much more ominous than "pitchers who have previously had injuries". Dodgers are a weird bunch. They have kinda targeted of injured pitchers and...it's not like they've made them healthier they have just accumulated a lot of them and they all cycle through their injuries.
