Trevor Bauer traded to Reds - Puig to Indians
Pretty surprised SD valued Trammel as better than Reyes / Allen

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him

I hope people don’t treat him to that standard for long. He’s 16, thrown into team mid season. Next year will be a bit more fun.

I feel like sox probably have likely deal lined up for colome but are holding out to see if one of those that lose out on the better deals try and jump offer.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
I think it's that teams aren't under as much financial constraints and expect bigger talent returns.

Why WAR is stupid for Closers, especially for Colome
Juan Minaya, 2017, 90% save percentage.

Hahn on the call: "By our metrics, he's a 6 WAR closer, and you are going to give us some 17 year old trash? Give us a 26 year old AAA outfielder and be done with it"

Sox interested in Edwin Diaz
Garcia definitely seems like a dude that we move on from and then ends up moving to the NL and having another 10 years in his career somehow.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
Quite the contrary, just don't think that same trade will work since it didn't before.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
Yeah, nobody wants to be the team that misreads the market but eventually moves will need to be made and time will press.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
obvs red sox now reported out but if they really are dangling benintendi for a controllable closer not having a particularly good year, then sox really should inquire.

Sox interested in Edwin Diaz
If I was a mets fan this would make me happy, but I wonder if it means Diaz will stay (not just that boston was outbid)

Sox Interested in Marco Gonzales
No, I think it's smaller than Walker.

I'm not sure I realized the crain thing fell through on physical and wasn't just crain getting hurt during middle of the negotiations. That sucks, but yeah, o's were right. That tampa trade was pretty cool though, even though it didn't work out. I think the two what-if moments of the fake post-2013 rebuild would be if the sox had drafted one of the back half first round talents instead of hawkins (this particular draft was loaded) and the arrieta thing. Both would have added some legitimate talent that put sox closer to that playoff range but maybe not even close enough. But, yes, very interesting if 2015's rotation was Sale, Q, Arrieta, Wacha, something. Do we trade for Samardjiza still? (i think they'd still have a 2005 fetish and would). That offense was still so so bad, but that would have been quite a rotation.

hopefully kubat can find some success in AAA. I wonder when Flores gets sent to AA again.

Sox Interested in Marco Gonzales
So, just to clarify, I think Steiver is more talented and has more potential to be a dominant player. I think Walker is a pretty boring player. However, there is two years of health, of continued work on control, of developing pitchers, that makes a list of a lot more work Steiver needs to do to hit that higher ceiling. Dunning was awesome in A+ as a college draft pick. Then he had a series of injuries which he can still come back from but he's likely not to start his mlb career, if he does, until 26. Walker, by contrast, is entirely competent if not exciting because he has only a 15% k rate and a good 9% walk rate. He, from accounts, still has not failed as a CFer. That's the makings of, at least, a borderline MLB player. Now, I've discussed giving value to players who merely make the big leagues even if they aren't particularly good, but walker has a very decent likelihood of having a big league career (any version of one).

Sox Interested in Marco Gonzales
Stiever is a pitcher in A ball. There’s a long way to go. Walker may be proving he isn’t a starter but he has a number of pretty safe traits that should see him gradually climb pretty easily. I don’t like walker as a prospect and hated, hated the pick, but pitchers are tough.

Sox interested in Edwin Diaz
What was the 2018 move he’s referring to? The Glasnow/meadows trade?

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
He was pretty hot shit before his injury he was flying up boards and now has been constantly injured.

I actually meant Jefferson Mendoza but yeah Delgado really turned it on last few weeks. Comas/Weaver were good last year meh this year, Delgado/Mieses were meh/bad last year and pretty good this year. Harvin Mendoza really strong.

that's way too hard now. They can soak in some contract relief specifically for this year and maybe next, but 3 years of a player who may not be the same after the ACL/aging curve is a lot to ask. If you trade for mccutchen you are saying that's your RF of next 3 years.
