  1. round 28. Feeling it. Gonna be an incredible round
  2. Props to the Zurbrugg family who leaned in and named their kid Zane.
  3. Tyler Osik, son of former big league catcher Keith Osik, from UCF. Looks like he straight up rakes. He's my vote for Great Falls bat we get way too excited about before it turns into a pumpkin the next year: https://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/shoreham-wading-river-s-tyler-osik-once-bullied-he-built-himself-into-a-mlb-prospect-1.18901301 https://d1baseball.com/player/y0Jyo50e/tyler-osik/ Kinda sad story above.
  4. Justin Friedman, 6'4 guy out of hope international university. That's all I got. There's some youtube vids.
  5. normally I would check out at this point but bryce bush really heightened the stakes.
  6. Zac Taylor from U of I just went to le cubs.
  7. per BDR RHP Hansen Butler needs innings and to get less wild. That was what I originally wrote as a placeholder for Butler before I was going to go back and add something more substantive, but I think it works pretty well without much else. Also, “get less wild” makes me laugh for some reason. Butler’s stuff is really good, so the impetus to get him those innings and improve his control is even greater than if he was just a short righthander with pedestrian talent. At his best, Butler can reach the mid-90s (94-95 mostly) with a pair of offspeed pitches that will show above-average (78-80 slider, 79-82 change).
  8. Espinoza off to a nice start with power. Already a 2b and a 3b. Benyamin Bailey, a 17 y.o. that signed in April I guess, was 4-5 today Jefferson Mendoza, C, was basically our 2017 class. He has 2 doubles to date. Wilmer Sanchez also has 3 2b already. So some decent starts for power so far in DSL. As you can imagine, very little walks.
  9. If they can't sign Allen they will lose that slot, it would still be kinda hard to get Barco.
  10. Read this article on Jakob Goldfarb and I'm really happy for him: https://www.ducksports.com/sports/20181003/surprised-by-not-being-drafted-jakob-goldfarb-switches-to-catcher-in-return-to-oregon-baseball Wish there was a report on how he fared as a catcher. Good on that college coach, he was right on that converting to catcher would get him drafted. edit: Goldfarb slashed .306/.415/.435 as a senior at Oregon.
  11. Any D1baseball.com subscribers? guessing Milto was on this: https://d1baseball.com/prospects/d1-analytics-2019-top-senior-pitchers/
  12. Nice pitching writeup on him as well. Nice pick if we can sign him.

  15. Still hoping they can make a run at Prosecky, would be happy enough with that.
  16. Vandy is going to be so good (as they always are).
  17. Good for him. He's my poster child for poor sox draft strategy, but he comes off as such a polished interview and nice guy. I hope he has found some corrections and can find some time in the big leagues.
  18. So, just to figure this out. 2017 - All ACC awesome soph year 2018 - misses entire year due to shoulder injury 2019 - regresses a lot. Maybe he can heal up and get the virginia beaten out of him.
  19. https://www.streakingthelawn.com/2019/2/13/18222102/virginia-baseball-preview-hitting-defense-cam-simmons-tanner-morris This is interesting. He had a great junior year but was injured, drafted 15th round and came back. He hurt his shoulder, so maybe if he gets healthy he could be something interesting.
