Game of Thrones
I felt that last year, I thought this episode was a great return to form.

4/18 12:10 pm - White Sox v. Tigers (Nova v. Ross)
You need to give Steverson credit, I believe. They made a big deal about Moncada going to AZ in the winter to work with him. But, the success is largely seems to be about approach, not mechanical tweaks. So it's Moncada buying into him too.

Leury almost bunted a home run.

From the front view I assumed he must have hit it at someone because he killt it but he put his head down almost right away so I thought he was mad. Then they cut to the outfield and, no reason to be mad at that.

Nova should be the perfect pitcher for the tigers. Alas it's 1-0 to start.

Giolito to 10 day IL, Cordell & Fulmer recalled
It's a shame the 10 day is going away due to abuse because this is the perfect case for it.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
Is it fair to say your position would be you would support the mlb giving umpires some say in regulating on field celebrations if they also eliminated player retaliation measures in earnest?

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
Tim didn't do anything against the mlb rules though. Keller did. Personally I'd be more concerned about teaching kids that if someone does something that hurts their feelings, they can react violently and that's okay because of vague unwritten rules.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
If you knew nothing else about baseball you would be so confused when you learn tim is talking about a controversial topic.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
I already want to downvote my own comment but Tim Anderson and Bryce Harper on the same team would have been fun.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
Let's continue the anderson discussion here since the game threads get confusing. Going to move some posts in

FYI, going to move this into an active thread.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
Had Tim hit the home run and stared down the pitcher, or the catcher, then I get it a bit more. But the "not showing respect for the opponent" stuff is weak. Drawing attention to your accomplishment (demonstrative bat flip, cheering at teammates) should not be considered disrespectful. There could certainly be a line thats crossed, but so long as its in celebration and geared toward teammates, I think it is absolutely awful to justify doing something that could seriously injure. He was hit in the butt this time, but contrary to popular belief, pitchers aren't that accurate, and also routinely lose control of the ball. It's a dangerous, dumb act, one that's quite disrespectful to the game.

4/17 Games
Weird, I thought I remembered reading some terrible larry article on SSS about how there wouldn't be a babip regression for Collins because he sucks (basically every larry article ever)

MLB Baseball in AAA Effects
Maybe this settles down a bit as pitchers get better with new ball, but crazy how big the home run jump was.

Jason Benetti's commentary during Anderson vs. Royals
Yes. And people have to stop acting like the job of the announcing team is to flatter their own intellect.

4/17 Games
Hasnt Collins consistently had very low babips?

4/17 Games
A lot less fun so far. It's a big, big jump to both. They will adjust.

4/17 1:10 pm - White Sox v. Royals (Giolito v. Keller)
My take: The "act like you've been there before" mantra was created in response to the overly PC times of its day to protect the low self-esteem of players in its generation who could not take being embarrassed. This generation, with higher self esteem and ability to be offended without becoming violent, does not need this rule. Classic generational rift.

Yeah all of the sniping is ridiculous but Sox fans will love an us against them guy. But I suspect Grichuk got brainwashed while in St. Louis.
