  1. Jose Rondon should become player-manager, prove me wrong.
  2. I enjoy how quickly we all forgot that the sending out of high quality, cheap talent was supposed to accelerate our rebuild compared to houston/cubs. We had 95 losses in 2017, 100 last year, very likely 90+ this year. To say we have 3 more years of 100 losses is not due to any sort of "plan'
  3. You know, blake snell is awesome and we shouldn't expect to beat him. But everything on the other side of it is quite honestly embarrassing, especially staring in the face an org that has half our resources and continues to outperform us for the last decade.
  4. Castillos approach of "seeing if blake snell will get castillo on base" was a noble shot. Really love not swinging on 3-1...beauty.
  5. anyway i think it's again worth pointing out that every at bat that we started off with a four seam fastball reached base last inning.
  6. But even then, they'll get some old school manager that "knows how to win in baseball", while every other smart org sets up a smart, progressive baseball front office with a manager to execute their plan. I'd be very happy to even have the twins set-up right now.
  7. So, to be a dead freaking horse, pretty much every one of the outs came via at bats that were 100% slider. He obviously didn't have it, he should prioritize getting out of this inning and stop starting every ab with FB FB and going down 2-0.
  8. This. Cooper was a hell of a coach, and the cooper/schneider combo worked great for years. It's over. And they should have tripled the coaching staff in prep for all of the young pitchers in 2016. But he has too big of an ego.
  9. True, but it's clear they have not invested in the right coaching staff to deal with so much young pitching at once. And to be fair, even atlanta has struggled with that to a point. They've needed vets. Sox since they lost a true no nonsense pitcher with quintana have been drowning.
  10. Thats the thing, the only two batters he was successful against the last 5 were all sliders.
  11. Four seamer, high. 90 mph. 1-0. ?
  12. You'd be insane not to sit on his 88 mph fastball. He has to go all slider until they have to swing at it.
  13. All sliders, another swinging K.
  14. It appears 4 seamers that hit 96 in the zone, mixed in with offspeed stuff is a more effective way of getting hitters out than 90-92 fastballs out of the zone.
  15. Ha, I just remembered we are facing blake snell and have maybe a 2% chance of scoring 3 runs, let alone however many are going to score
  16. I think he was just dialing it back trying to get control. It didn't work.
  17. He seems to be a coach that does better focusing on one younger/journeyman reclamation project. He has not handled having an entirely young rotation/bullpen well. They are all morphing into the same issues/pitcher.
  18. I was so excited for dave duncan, but all we see in our game plans is the same crap. Four seamer/single offspeed pitch first time through order, introduction of changeup in 4th, and pray. Also starting off darn near every batter with a four seamer. Giolito's first start was a work of art mixing pitches and speeds, and sadly very rare.
  19. And slider-slider-slider has a batter 1-2.
  20. He threw 5 90-91 mph fastballs to mike zunino, none near the plate.
  21. He is telling them to stay tall and ruining their plus offspeed offerings with mediocre cutters.
  22. Rodon is gonna go down to mid seventies just to get his fastball over.
