  1. bulls record w/ hoiberg (missing dunn, portis, valentine, markannen, forced to play parker) 5-19 bulls record w/ boylen (missing valentine, portion missing with lavine) 5-16 Markannen looks worse under boylen. WCJ looks worse. Dunn looks better via catering to his worst tendencies (3pt shooting down, mid range up). The rest of the league is talking about getting AD. There are now appeals in media to michael reinsdorf though to start fresh. This franchise with the right hire could skyrocket right away. They need to absolutely clean house though.
  2. The "growing into power" thing is harder to believe for me from a college hitter that was a power hitter in college, and had his drought not in birmingham but in one of our friendliest power environments. But it's not that he can't do it, it's that I now think it's much less likely than prior to last year. He certainly could find that motion that taps into his power, but he hasn't shown it yet and so it's hard for me to say "he's definitely our 1b of the future" especially when we are already collecting what hopefully will be plus bats that may not have great positional defense.
  3. If he get's a minor league deal then come aboard. surprisingly he wouldn't actually be worse than other pitchers on our pitching staff.
  4. If you draft vaughn it's because you believe he has a monster bat that makes those other guys just guys. I hope we dont' draft vaughn though.
  5. I'm pessimistic on sheets. When you look at even average 1b, they often came up in minors as something else, and they freakin destroy the minors. The idea that he'll hit enough to justify it is unlikely to me after last year, and he's not evan white with the glove. Someone of Palka/Collins/Burger/FA/trade will be our 1b of future.
  6. Martin Perez is only 27? Maybe he'd be a good addition. Let me check on those staaaooohhhmy god
  7. I think realistically it means while there is two eager sides, they are still working out a contract that will be first of its kind and not just in AAV.
  8. I still think there is a whole bunch of stuff that can be explained by people using offer, formal offer, etc interchangeably when there is no defined meaning to any of them anyway. Maybe the yanks never offered him but discussed numbers all the same. Who knows. Would explain a lot of the "so and so offered" // " NO they didn't" back and forth.
  9. But what about when he turns to the camera, winks, and says judge landis was wrong?
  10. My thought as well.
  11. when you think your tweet is so good you need to cc people since they ignore you rest of time because your tweets are so good.
  12. I mean, at least they serve (mm) as useful reminders of it not really getting better next year.
  13. With that much competition I bet they get back something decent.
  14. Definitely, I just think people in retrospect think he was this huge bust. He disappointed, but still seemed like he was always at verge of putting it together then his heart issues popped up. He'd be a horrible nba player today but at time he was useful.

That wasn't near as bad as I expected from the takeaways people had.
  16. Cespedes signed a one year deal, he did what he was supposed to that year, it would have been fine. But yes, ideally we don't have to be a team that relies on signing a 30+ year old outfielder to hopefully get a wildcard like that white sox team.
  17. What I like about basabe, and i do think his greatest likelihood is 4th outfielder, but he also feels like a prospect that can blow doors off his projection at any point. He does have power, what if he hits enough to make that plus plus? He does walk alot, what if he gets so selective it forces more strikes to play up his power? His hit tool could hold him back, but he seems like a really smart player that is going to get most out of his tools.
  18. Dejong and carp ss/2b, heck of an infield.
  19. Ok but we thought many of those teams were resetting specifically for this offseason, but many were still too scared to be in a position where it would be too difficult to re-set again.
  20. But when does this offseason exist? Didn't exist last year. Didn't exist year before that.
  21. Definitely, and that hasn't scared JR before. I still think the albert belle contract was good personally.
  22. Here's some info from Fegan on the guy https://theathletic.com/772714/2019/01/17/dominican-republic-visit-gives-white-sox-prospects-a-chance-to-see-the-game-from-the-other-side/
  23. i'm gonna split this out since things are kinda slow. Good find.
