  1. I do think Sox have him but the contract is going to be pretty complex, may be one where it’s a hard time even figuring out total value. This weeks confusion in it’s weird way started to point to a structure, and I do think it’s just a lot to work through. It’s nice to hear people saying it’s close but After all this I mean, I’m just setting expectations of pitchers and catchers report time.
  2. It’s just hard to excerpt because it’s so gif heavy but here’s a part on lopez His changeup has a nice velocity gap — over 10 mph — and gets average whiffs. That’s probably already enough, but if he improves his cutter or curve, which he threw a combined 211 times last year and only gave up one homer, then he’s got three pitches that he can use instead of his four-seam. Nate Eovaldi once had a big fastball he threw a ton, and people still hit it well. He found that no fastball is too big to hide and broke out by going more often to a cutter. López may want to learn from that lesson.
  3. With the right hire you aren’t far. If the bulls could hire Masai Ujiri as president I feel like they would be a top east competitor after next year. They need someone that realizes the bulls is more than a job under jerry reinsdorf, that uses its brand and worries about more than their own careers. Or maybe we’ll just get lucky.
  4. Yeah he isn’t the best columnist but his podcast is still pretty good.
  5. Then we steal the trillion dollar coin
  6. He’s a fantastic interview. As fathom has pointed out, his swing feels like he is trying to hit grounders, but he has stated he’s tried to get more power out of it while not worrying too much about it.
  7. True but had Rodon been off board I bet we went Nola
  8. I have never seen johnson talk this negatively about the bulls, bernstein pulls out these quotes in his latest: https://670thescore.radio.com/bernstein-bulls-mess-needs-fixing-losing-streak-boylen "Now where do you go?" he asked. "What do you do? These are really troubling times for the Bulls. Something's got to break here -- something's got to give, because what's happening right now is not working."
  9. Well this is progress in that they didn't play wendell with a torn ligament.
  10. sorry one more, from boylen on trading justin holliday 15. I asked Boylen after the game the biggest issue for the team defensively right now. “Well, I think one thing is we traded one of our best defensive players and we’re looking for somebody else to step up,” Boylen said. “That’s an issue. We had a veteran guy that could guard. He’s a lockdown defender. And we’re looking for our young guys to grow into that role. We’ve had moments where they have. That’s just part of it. That’s part of what we’re trying to do, give those guys an opportunity to play. We’re learning about them. They’re learning what they need to do better. That’s all part of this season, a season of discovering what we have and what they can do and what they need to work on. And this (Denver) is a good team. This was the No. 1 team in the West until this week, and they played well. You’ve got to give them credit, too.”
  11. from darnell maybury in the athletic: 11. That brief defensive bump the Bulls flashed at the beginning of the Boylen era? Long gone. Teams have averaged 122.3 points per 100 possessions against the Bulls in the past eight games. That’s 5.1 points per 100 worse than last-place Cleveland.
  12. I almost guarantee yolmer is on roster next year, leury would be odd man out, since they kinda shoehorned him back into being an infield role too.
  13. I would say rose back is totally likely but I think rose holds ill will toward bulls front office.
  14. I'm telling you, there are so many random users that pop up in my feed that i have no idea how i followed them (it seems like a pretty deliberate action)
  15. FATHOM STOP CALLING THE SCORE
  16. not following. What's douchey about saying that.
  17. But there's also this: Maybe this dad doesn't know anything, but is trying his darndest to get closer to manny now that he's about to get paid, and loves the attention that was showered on him by a reporter just because he's tied to him.
  18. Totally believe that this is just a family misunderstanding difference between offers and interest.
  19. I feel like it's fairly easy to acquire capable point guards (despite the bulls recent record) and would rather they go bigger there.
  20. I mean the panels regardless are the same 5 things anyways. "RICK I THINK BALL PLAYERS ARE SOFT THEY SHOULD DO PUSHUPS" "why Did you do that shitty thing" "how great are you at your job?" etc
  21. I think realistically the amt of people that follow that every move are extreeeemely small and they really don't even think about it. He also could have been a suggested follow he accidentally clicked on, i would say there are at least 5-10 people in my feed i have no idea who they are and would imagine i followed on accident.
  22. I really think he will sign! But I legitimately do not believe it will be before soxfest anymore. I really do think this is gonna be a deal that adds some new wrinkles and changes the game (a la the swellopt, or my preferred term the infloption)
  23. I have to say I always enjoy the panels at soxfest but there was a potential they'd either be a lovefest (Sign harper or machado) or a shooting gallery (sign neither), but I had not anticipated when neither happen. I actually think it could be pretty boring. Too many people will ask about it, hahn won't be able to say anything interesting, ... worst case scenario really (from a soxfest standpoint)
