  1. i'm gonna split this out since things are kinda slow. Good find.
  2. Sure, but the investment in the stadium, surrounding area and team wasn't charity. It's not a hardship.
  3. Not gonna lie, if I was a cubs fan i'd be pissed about them crying poor to a fanbase that does nothing but support the team with dollars, when they are billionaires, and when the team is in the middle of a competitive window.
  4. So with nightingale building case that the sox offer is low but also there are no other teams interested I do basically feel like that's the white sox org narrative.
  5. Poor ricketts, if the city just paid for the investment for their wrigleyville kingdom, they could pump that money back into the payroll where it could be taxed and redistributed into a major organizations investment fund. Isn't that a better use of your money, chicago?
  6. Yep! Though with fulmer you get the sense that he was throwing 4 seam maybe because it was only one he thought he could command.
  7. https://theathletic.com/756814/2019/01/14/sarris-pitchers-who-could-have-a-breakout-season-in-2019-by-making-one-small-adjustment/ Really interesting about how they should dial back 4 seam usage and focusing on other pitches.
  8. Passan sucks again
  9. anxiously awaiting this bruce report for the lolz. Please count the amount of times he complains about millenials.
  10. I'd put money on boras, personally.
  11. I have this concern too. While I totally believe sox knocked down the years of deal thing yesterday, I don't think sox ever want exact terms of what they are working on leaked. But it could definitely be seen that way.
  12. Right, this is one part of it though. it is quite obvious the 7 years thing came from the white sox front office as every single chicago sports writer and national writer wrote it.
  13. Hoping Machado doesn't end up on the today show to talk about how he was abused by media sources in dealing with the white sox.
  14. bruce very smart boy
  15. I don't know, but I also know boras loves to talk to the media.
  16. That's quite the statement. Man, i have zero clue who leaked the terms.
  17. Would be more fun if this was condensed into a day though
  18. I'm going to say that it's incredibly unlikely it's lower. But considering how stupid everything is, you may be right and i'm sure Levine will be quick to tweet that.
  19. reason #589 that player comps are dumb: comparing pujols to manny machado.
  20. He has actually tried to identify them, even if he still puts it out there. He has had several tweets this offseason saying stuff like "harper camp saying there is a mystery team but I can't find anyone to confirm."
  21. aside from it being positive therefore I believe it (as is board rule), I've enjoyed heyman this offseason because he's been very transparent to fans in trying to describe and cut through agent BS (like mystery teams) and team BS. So this holds weight to me.
  22. Yeah this would be hilarious if true (I'm extremely skeptical not that I don't doubt there are people in front office that have a limit), an extremely fortuitous set of circumstances even has them leading after a 7 for 175 offer, and they are split after wasting 15 million hiring family and friends? They aren't serious then, they would be naive. It's a weird narrative and I'm not buying it.
  23. However, it may cut down on tanking. And fans also like appearance of competitiveness, and it would make building through free agency a thing again.
