Right, the indians don't have to do anything. The position they are in is they are maxed out salary wise, so they can't improve with salary. THeir farm has taken a hit. They can see if they get the right deal for one of their very good pieces and try and deal with it, and then will have some trade chips to get what they need. It's a smart play in a free agent market that may get too crazy for some teams that would prefer to trade out talent and get a reasonable contract in Kluber for 2 years.
