  1. It is going through this list that causes most of us to struggle when we hear our system is star heavy but not that deep. That said, it's funny to go down that list and think "huh, not as bad as I thought".
  2. An unreal sell-off from Facebook. Facebook has been a creative company in finding new streams of revenue. But as someone who finds it awful to use, I did have the same reaction to slowing growth. I don't see the generation behind the zennials, or zennials themselves, being big facebook users. As the growth areas dry up, they'll have to make more revenue on each user. I just can't imagine that experience being better than it is now. Their proposed ideas on their call (allowing brands to message you directly on messenger) sounded awful. Which is to say they could easily find or acquire some other line, or instagram itself makes up for all of the slack. But I have a hard time believing it won't have some major pains and redefining of what facebook is in the relatively soon future.

Yes exactly. Despite the struggles of Kopech, ceases year this year mirrors Kopechs excellent 2017. A year that started with ambitions to just throw a full year and stay healthy ended with him very close to the majors. 2019 is now expected for me to see cease, barring injury. Would not have said that this winter.

I don’t think so, lawn is firmly attached still. I just bought a spray on fungicide, wish me luck.

What’s the rationale for limiting the question to just these two?
  6. Not sure why league needs to guarantee this. Say an org mortgages future and it fails. When the new team comes in they can sell what they have to recoup draft picks or minor league players.
  7. I feel like the past year has actually just made this board much better at gauging markets for players. I'll say that players like Shields/Soria/Avilan are very hard for me to figure out actual return pieces, but the expectation of either older blocked players or younger interesting backend pieces seems right.

In minor sad news, pretty sure Jose Rodriguez is injured. He was absent last few games, then looks like he was subbed out of this one after 1 at bat.

It sure as heck sounds like his arm is a plus tool from his teammates and futuresox reports.
  10. Considering how TB is using their bullpen, not sure this matters.

Remember when lopez had like 8 solid starts in a row last year before he was promoted.
  12. Eovaldi was a guy I really wanted us to sign last year to flip. Interesting guys the rays get back in Beeks.
  13. With him being sandwiched by signees I'm hopeful it happens today.

Nice to see Rodriguez back. Thanks for putting this up.
  15. Sounds like a fun game to watch!

I don't think Jose Rodriguez has played in a minute. Wonder if he's injured.
  17. Agree completely.
  18. I've not seen an inning of the night game west coast games, just reylo getting crushed. Nice to read of a win!

Yeah AZL really annoys me. They brought over the entire DSL roster basically from last year and are playing these 17/18yo guys like once a week. Maybe there are a ton of other baseball activities happening that make the development still better than DSL, and I don't know. But Coronado, Kleydar Sanchez, they may be garbage at end of day, but for now they are 18 year old guys who had a promising first year statistically.
  20. Watching in the library with an mlb.tv account given to me by a soxtalk poster (whoever you were, thank you!)

I did try to dethatch, but, didn't seem like that was a large problem.

Lawngents, I'm at a loss. My nice green lawn that I was very proud of started turning brown in spots, and I thought it was a watering issue. I kept watering and watering, then realized there is no way it could be water at that point. I applied scotts broad spectrum fungicide 2 weeks ago now, and it does not seem to have stopped the spread. I applied it but did not water it right away (was not sure). Any idea what to do? Brown doesn't have spots that I have seen, just kinda browns and dies.
  23. Yeah but you never know in the NFL. I could see the Seahawks D collapsing this year. Tough to accurately project schedule strength.
  24. Leury actually seems like a total Jerry Dipoto target, doesnt' he? I bet seattle was taking a look too
