  1. they were looking for someone less boring and landed on ... David Haugh?
  2. I'm not upset about the Bulls for Nwaba, at least with this scuttlebutt news. It should be clear by now that in this offseason the teams have all the leverage. Bulls should be pressing on that for Nwaba and everyone. There is not likely a big market out there for him and if a team is showing interest enough but without cap space, a sign and trade is fine. In this offseason, hard to see nwaba as more than a 3-4 mill guy. Try to get him for 2/$6 and get him in a more favorable signing year of 2020. There was a path for bulls to go all in and just gotten a eastern semi finals team going after Restricted FAs like Capela or Parker, signing Isaiah Thomas for cheap. That team would have been...what, the Pistons? If they aren't doing that then best case is just keeping 2019 as clean as possible even if you think it's destined to fail, and sucking up some bad contracts for assets.
  3. Trying to control the decisions of a 16 year old kid isn’t easy.
  4. Not sure what to think. Have liked the trading of space for prospects, but would rather have had this year be used like the padres who still signed like 9 guys while under the penalty.
  5. Counterpoint, basically every player has played well in W-S this year under him and they all seem to love playing for him.
  6. Yeah I mean this board loved his turnaround last year but for the media scouts they were apprehensive until his July/August walk improvements proved themselves. They did and then some. I’m very excited for our OF prospects. Even Rutherford.
  7. The main difference is the other teams that were in on Robert were already over the penalty so they knew they were limited in negotiations. The white Sox weren’t, so if they missed out they’d either be able to pay up for a bunch of players, or, when they had signed him they only could sign those with $300k. Being in between clearly affected their strategy.

    6/29 Games

Lenyn Sosa is a multi hit machine, but also according to milb he has a lower obp than avg right now.

  10. I didn't say I think they are doing it for no reason, I am surprised the premium the white sox have been paying to college second round picks. Look at the past two years: https://www.mlbdailydish.com/2017/6/15/15812484/2017-mlb-draft-signings-tracker https://www.mlbdailydish.com/2017/6/15/15812484/2017-mlb-draft-signings-tracker The amount the sox are paying their second round picks stands out considering they have picked college players.
  11. Just want to stress a few points: I don't think the pay to sheets/walker changed our draft I do think it underscores the tendency toward college talent from our front office I have a hard time believing just from comments on how the draft went from Hostetler/etc that we were specifically targeting these guys and tried to guide them back. I think it might just be an agreement of like 'hey if you get to us we'll give you slot + remaining pool. Something like that.
  12. It just is improbable he would make more if he went back. I mean obviously it may be a deterrant but we aren't signing these guys at slot were signing them pretty far over.
  13. In addition, during the draft is still 2017-18 cap constraints, now it's the new year. They would have really struggled to fit Parsons on last years budget, now they could swallow some big contracts for assets.
  14. Right, he's not going back for his senior year.
  15. I just don't get it, what leverage does he have? It probably doesn't matter, but the Sheets/Walker overslot by a lot signings have been so strange to me.
  16. I don't really find it unreasonable to lower players rankings due to injury. It increases uncertainty that they will both come back from injury the same and if it will be chronic, compared to an uninjured player.
  17. I love that they are running like crazy in W-S. Try it out there.
  18. We had to debate whether we wanted to finish the season with the last episode. What a waste. I didn't realize David E Kelley was off the show prior or we may not have bothered.
  19. Maybe it was compensating when he first came back and it got sore. Thanks.
  20. Did a wrist injury happen after or does that injury affect the wrist? Unsure where the wrist injury stuff came into play.
  21. One thing I’m confused about is I thought Roberts injury was a thumb sprain.
  22. He had a hand injury and he’s played like 15 games. This whining tonight is ridiculous.
  23. So season 2 of Goliath turned into one of the worst series I’ve ever seen and I’m not exaggerating.
