  1. I think there will definitely be games where it quick sands and everyone is poorly executing and one step off, but I'm very excited. They may also just end up with a solid base of plays that can exploit the bad defenses they face but for now can't overcome the better talent defenses, that would be an improvement. Being the best bad team isn't something they've been able to do for a while, and that can also get you in the playoffs (though maybe not in this division). I guess that's basically the lions.

Judging from Instagram, Luis Robert discovered dominos and will soon be 400 lbs

So in one of the articles it talked about how when he was struggling offensively they let him “take a break” with defense and focus back on offense. He immediately was great. Have to wonder if maybe he’s back to focusing mostly on defense knowing he can hit at AA if he wants

Don’t tell me how many he hits he has, tell me where he hit em

Game 2 in AZL was a 2016 INTL FA show with all of the offense coming from Guerrero (2-3 2 2Bs) and Coronado (1/3, 3B), also Brayant Nova with some hits. Can’t remember his class. Davis Martin pitched and Hunter Kiel had a very Hunter Kiel like of 2Ks, 4 BBS in an inning of work.

He’s had great velo, then poor velo, the decent velo this year. He’s interesting though.

    Mieses with a double.

Anyone notice that Friday night games tend to be big offensive explosions?
  9. That’s a bad example though. At that point though I have breached the lease I still have control over it. They couldn’t charge me and still rent it out. If I hire a contractor and give them a deposit, then say I found another contractor and am not firing them in breach of contract, I don’t get to them demand a portion of his next job to pay me back for the deposit.
  10. Those sports have guaranteed contracts though. I think it’s crap that in the one contract that has guarantees they are forced into, the team gets to diversify their risk despite the fact that they have decided not to retain the services of the player.

https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-fringe-five-baseballs-most-compelling-fringe-prospects-116/ Mendick is back in. I paid attention to him so much more last year, largely due to the dearth of talent in W-S offensively. This year the power he has shown in birmingham has been eye-opening, though his average has risen and fell. It's starting to feel at any point like he may just figure it all out and take off.

    TWO RUNS for DSL!
  13. The NFL players union is such trash compared to mlb's it's astonishing. MLB would never let them undercut players guarantees like that.
  14. I'm not sympathetic to this. Don't draft 7th then. There are so many ways to weasel around money in the nfl, just get the guy in camp and deal with that problem 5 years from now
  15. Just seems kinda weird. Slots are so set in NFL now, doesn't seem like it's worth haggling over whatever it is.

I'm gonna hold my woo hoos after this year. Still fully expect this tweet Chicago White Sox August 2nd While rehabbing an oblique injury, RHP Jimmy Lambert tore his UCL aand needed Tommy John surgery, and also tore his ACL and had leg amputated. He is expected to miss 40-50 months.
  17. Okc could easily, easily be trash in 4 years.

I doubt we'll ever have a "stacked" AAA. When they graduate from AA seems like a matter of time on position side. See TA
  19. Depends on that 2022 pick protection but seems like okc made out like a bandit on the melo deal. Schroder will be legitimately useful.
  20. MPJ gets back surgery again. So at Missouri, the doctors all recommended that he just do PT instead of surgery, and then he flew off one weekend and got surgery and let them know. Maybe he should have just did PT.

Sox were pretty conservative in promoting guys from DSL to AZL mid season last year. Some got in last week of season. That said it could also mean he's just an older guy dominating kids and he actually just throws 80 mph and sucks.

Another day, another game where DSL only scores 1 run or less. Jose Rodriguez 1-2, BB Yordi Rosario 6 IP and 8 ks.

I mean I wouldn't put him in a top 30 unless he starts doing it in hi-A, but, he's certainly one of the more interesting ones in GF now. More interesting than when Anthony Villa was shoving at age 24 last year.
