  1. Yeah actually would like to know how this ranks to previous years. Feels like typically 2-3 per league made it, this year felt like it was 6 per team with Charlotte the laggards.
  2. Sucks to get shut out but that's what the indians have been doing when they don't let you get to much of their bullpen.
  3. So he decided to start talking about baseball during a baseball game? What an absolute child.

This is nitpicky but it's less that we were restricted in signing good players and more that our limbo with Robert prevented us from establishing contracts at all. On J2 signing day, we signed 2 players total. I forgot which team (probably padres), but a team over the limit still signed dozens of players under 300k. Our uncertainty with Robert prevented them from being able to negotiate and basically resulted in a lost year. Most of those guys were signed in february/march.
  5. Incredibly frustrated by his inconsistency. Not gonna be convinced by a start or two that he’s turned a corner. He’s gonna need a lot for me to believe he’s not just an inning away from forgetting it all and falling apart.
  6. I’m sure Jirschele will take it.
  7. Wow awesome news.

What a series of great news reports today.
  9. Jimmy does still have like 3 properties in Chicago.
  10. They listed him as a 1b, and there is only one other 1b ahead of him. That ranking is a pretty nice recommendation of his bat.
  11. Yep. Kinda crazy the staying power those teams have held over the nba culture despite a bunch of super teams since. With all the fracturing of media and attention spans since then may be the last "legendary" team that everyone globally has as a benchmark.
  12. The difference between 116 and a 130 or 180 prospect is probably much smaller as to be meaningless. But they are making a list, and clearly longenhagen saw and heard reports of Burdi that made him notable, and he's kept him here despite the injury.
  13. He did start a throwing program. But has yet to be moved into affiliate ball. My typical mode for this is no news is bad news, but sox also don't seem that concerned about providing detailed information on minor league injuries.
  14. Basabe's doing great. But for these lists he's competing against every prospect, not just white sox ones. The good news is if he does what he's doing now in Birmingham he's a top 50 prospect. Birmingham will decide all these guys fates. So I'm not that worried about rankings for guys still in Aball or lower.
  15. Is there any specific signing people are looking at as difficult? Would Carranza be one?
  16. Same for Basabe. It's basically his third year in Hi-A, he should be doing what he's doing (though I'm very happy with it!). Adolfo is obviously in hi-a, but the big news with him is he kept his improved walk rate he found after july and actually improved upon that at a higher level. I'm not sure why the TJ should be a concern, he's not a pitcher and it would be shocking to me if the TJ brought his arm all the way down to below average.
  17. I'd be pretty scared to. Let's save our bullets for CoveY Young
  18. 2018 Four Seam - 2086 Curve - 2355 2017 Four Seam - 2123 Curve - 2538 https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/lucas-giolito-608337?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb
  19. I kinda want to see what happens if the white sox put a pitch clock on Giolito.
  20. I think it's hard when people hear average tools to remember how few players with ceilings of average tools hit them, whereas Walker is pretty sure to hit that. I'm not crazy about the profile (we had a lot of these in our system), but I think when he starts hitting in the minors people will come around.
  21. The information I'll have in 3 years over how good Rodon actually is, the production he'll have provided are more valuable to me right now than the discount rate potential for years 2022-25 or the discount rate of trading him. Sometimes just hold tight.
  22. Yeah when DSL started and I didn’t see ...basically any of last years team I got super excited. Seemed like the 2016 class had potential, to see them all not repeat was some nod to that. Really excited for reports on Kleydar Sanchez to hear on reports there. Coronado moves at end of last year but had real power already showing up in games at 17. I do wonder if this is the Sox also being more confident in their cultural assimilation work with Anthony(?) Santiago I’m moving this many at once to the states.
  23. Almost, though Abreu should have been dead to rights.
  24. Palka is going to give them the brewers treatment.
  25. Ooh hope nick Madrigal gets his outfield glove. Moncada is good again.
