True but Parsons is so expensive you lose basically all of that flexibility you gain losing Lavine, and then the 4/7/22 is quite a bit of salary too.

Man I must not have been paying attention much, when did the bulls get a Faried (is that Kenneth?) Is this a weird 3 way trade with Denver?

It's really hard because I don't know if I"m being unfair to Lavine because of his struggles after an ACL. But I just don't believe in him being more than a JR Smith/Jamal Crawford type contributor to a winner and he'll be getting paid like he's a main guy. That said, if you don't get Doncic you will be building the weirdest team ever if you trade out Lavine. Basically a team of power forwards/centers in every position.

Do the White Sox have too much starting pitching?
And TBH I'd be fine this winter spending on starting pitching (not dumpster diving) and if it pans out trading SP prospects for position players than relying on this group of SP to be the mets 2015 rotation.

It's just this always tends to work itself out, and worst case scenario you leave a bunch of guys in AAA for a while. That has worked out fine for the Tampa Bay rays, who get basically finished pitchers with control for essentially all of their prime years. And quite frankly, nobody deserves a promotion right now in AAA. And pitchers like Guerrero, he's a name we know but not a particularly good prospect at this point.

Yeah, shame they don't need frontcourt players, as that's where most of our win now guys are.

Do the White Sox have too much starting pitching?
yes exactly. These are all names that we know, but only one is currently performing very well in Majors, and it happens to be a guy we didn't expect. And even with 5 starters in majors, I'd still want some depth given injuries.

Great Falls Roster Released
Oh dang yeah forgot that Pimentel and Quintero were not on DSL. Realized going back through our signings that they are all accounted for on Gfalls, missed players like Romy Gonzalez on outfield. Ryan Fitzpatric only guy I don't see on Gfalls.

Dylan Covey
Sheesh, if Covey turns into a multi-year backend starter with no urge to replace him, that is amazing news.

Was just about to say that. Lenyn Sosa? Pretty easy to search for. Jose Rodriguez? Sounds like a guy Wilder made up to pocket a bonus. ?

Great Falls Roster Released
It's like an all LatAm infield and all college outfield. Wonder if AZ will be the reverse of that, all college infield and all LatAm outfield.

I think that is one thing, but also underrated in the LatAm dominance of top prospects recently is it's possible professional development has gotten better the last decade, and those players receive 2 additional years training at the highest level at least compared to stateside players.

I have seen nothing except what you'd get from his B-R profile and that we signed him in Feb.

Glad that was answered.

And with a pretty nice .160 iso at that age. Said it before but the average and stuff may just be hot streak, but the power has been consistent. Always exciting.

Fangraphs Top 131 Prospects List
https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/pitch-framing-data-is-going-insane/ This addresses a lot of it. But one thing, Pitch Framing does try to account for changing zones from year to year and batter to batter: And also you are measuring catcher performance by their relative ranking to each other. One thing to keep in mind is that the difference between the best and worst pitch framers is much smaller now than it was 10 years ago. But the variation year to year for good framers is a new thing, and as Jeff mentions, possibly could be from the floor being raised so dramatically. Because it was raised so dramatically so quickly, it's a good bet that this is just a teachable technique thing that, unlike defense, is not something that would be correlated to a specific feature like being fast, athletic, etc.

Magical Sox day at GRF for 7 year old battling cancer
The picture of him hugging his dad at home plate really tugs at me.
