  1. Yes if they threw in Joe Nathan. (I don't believe in teal, people should be able to figure it out)
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) I hope either Jerry Owens or Ryan Sweeney are ready for the show by mid-June. Perhaps it's just my natural bias against a non-100% (health-wise) Scott Podsednik, but I'm not optimistic at all... Hey the guy barley had a spring training between the shoulder injury and the groin tweek. Give him some time to find his groove.
  3. QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Can Frank run this year? I haven't had a chance to see him play, but my guess is he can't or would prefer not to. If he stays healthy it will be because he doesn't have to run the bases too much. I saw Frank bat twice against NY on TV last week. In the first at bat he swung hard and and hopped around on his right foot, doing everything he could to keep his weight off of the left ankle. In the second AB he slammed a double off the wall in left field, that gave the A's the win but he limped into second base in obvious pain. I'm afraid he is not long for this season.
  4. Regarding Detroit: Think about Balttimore's start last year.
  5. Just be forwarned: MLB TV tends to freeze up alot.
  6. QUOTE(TLAK @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) On the subject of players coming back for rings. God bless the 2005 White Sox. I hope everyone from that team gets the standing ovations they deserve. This board is so young that I question if most of the posters realize just what an accomplishment these players made. The White Sox were the ugly sister in MLB for years and years on years. My whole life. Nobody loved them but us. I am warming to the '06 team (I like what I saw in ST despite the record) but last years team, from Timo to Mark to Frank will live in my heart forever. If the boys repeat, or even string together some titles, or if they don't, the '05 group will still stay number one in my heart. God bless Timo Perez and his teamates. I could not agree more. I started following The Chicago White Sox in 1967, so to actually see a great team win it all was just so f***ing amazing! These are good times, thanks to Kenny, Ozzie and the players. Bring on this season and make the rest of Major League Baseball envy and fear us.
  7. Rule #1 for a closer: DO NOT LET THE LEAD OFF MAN GET ON.
  8. I know it's spring training. But our regulars stink at the plate right now as bad as our would be relief pitchers. When do the hits start falling in and the runs start piling up? Is Greg Walker to blame? Help me out here,.
  9. I've got tix for Sat. & Sun. Hoping that my work sched. will allow me to go. BTW, tailgating is not allowed at Angel's stadium
  10. QUOTE(Allsox @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 11:36 AM) There is absolutely nothing wrong with Upper Deck Box either. People may grumble about not having lower level access but I couldn't care less. The beer is just as cold and the Polish is just as good up there as it is downstairs and the bathroom lines aren't as bad. I agree, except during The Series the bathroom lines were as bad. Seriously though, I've never had a problem with the UD at The Cell. You get a great overview of the field, and the steepness actually gives you better sightlines. Less chance of a head in front of you blocking your view than in the lower deck.
  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) Podsednik Uribe Thome Konerko Dye Iguchi Pierzynski Anderson Crede I think Dye should start the year at #3 because of how he did in the post season. Also he must run better than Thome. Also AJ should be ahead of Iguchi so the order goes right left right.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) If Bobby can consistantly get that big break on his yacker he'll own the league anyways. Because I have no knowledge about how to pitch, which is harder to learn, a wicked curve like you describe, or a change like Buehrle's?
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Jenks curveball is practically a changeup anyways. With it's nearly 13 mph differential between the fastball there's really no need to attempt teaching a new pitch. Sure, it's more imposing not to anticipate simply a fastball and curveball, but he should first perfect the curveball (which occasionally Jenks had problems throwing) before proceding any further. If he were to develop a changeup, I would hope it's noticeably slower than his breaking ball. Like Gagne's--which occasionally fell below 70mph. A 70mph change like Gagne's is exactly what I'd love to see. It seems the hitters with the game on the line in the 9th would be so off balance with a pitch like that after a 100mph fastball. Bobby would own the league.
  14. My wife and I bought 20 tickets for a game in June about 2 weeks ago. We called the 1000 number and ended up on hold for a long ass time, but eventually got thru to a guy named Blair in group sales. His direct line is 312 674 5320. Good luck!
  15. I watched parts of all four Series wins on DVD this past weekend. As I watched Jenks blow the save in game 2 and have a shaky outing in game 3, I started to think that in order for him to be a truly dominating closer (which I know he can be), he needs to develope a change up. Because his fastball is unhittable as a high strike, it seemed that the Astros were starting to lay off of the pitch by the third game. It got me thinking that a great change when mixed with the curve and the high heat would put him in Rivera and Gagne territory. I'm curious to know what you guys think.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) So you'd want Butters, the little b**** who is constantly torchered and humiliated. Who's dad is a closet homosexual and who's mother once tried to drown him in a lake and then blamed the whole thing on some Puerto Rican guy to be the representative of the Chicago White Sox Baseball Franchise? f*** that, give me the fat, foul mouthed, racist Eric Cartman. I said "even Butters" because Cartman reminds me of every asshole Cub's fan I've ever met.
  17. I'm not sure if Cartman is the guy I want representing Sox Fans. I'd prefer Kyle, Chef, or even Butters.
  18. What about Tin Horn Flats in Burbank on Magnolia, 2 blocks west of Buena Vista? It's a big Bears bar on Sundays. A friend of mine was there last night and said 20 to 25 Sox fans were there. I think thats where I'm going after work. Hopefully by the 4th inning.
  19. I just checked the Angels web site: "Alcohol consumption is prohibited in the Angel Stadium Parking Lot." Also charcoal grills are prohibited. These people know how to have a good time.
  20. Where is the best place to hang out looking for tix at the park?
  21. I think this thread tells me it's an off day.
  22. I work with famous people, does that count?
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) You're correct, I misread the quote a bit, I apologize. No need for you to apologize, Ordonez is a jerk for what he said because he didn't acknowlege Sox fans. He should be happy for us after all the support he got while on the White Sox. He is truely a jerk, and I hope he enjoys his future hitting long flyouts in Comerco and never finishing better than 3rd place for the rest of his career.
