  1. One can can only hope. The team is very solid right now. Don't mess it up.
  2. As long as Holliday will sign for 500k then the Sox will work with borass.
  3. If that's the case then I don't inderstand why they don't just give him 300k more to get him signed. They could always deal a relief pitcher between now and April. What if Putz or another guy has arm trouble? He's excellent low cost insurance.
  4. This is a debate? I wouldn't want Bradley anywhere near my organization if he offered to play for free.
  5. Well, It makes sense to me for the Sox to keep him at least for now. However, since they haven't committed to that I have to believe that they are trying to get something for him now.
  6. As of right now, the White Sox might have the best pitching in baseball. Don't trade any pitching, please.
  7. I hope they don't lose Carrasco. Didn't Ozzie call him the team MVP ?
  8. While I like the idea of the Sox keeping Putz and Jenks I don't see how they can afford to do that. I would be happy if they just added Putz and Pods. I think the offense and defense would be good enough to support maybe the best pitching staff in baseball.
  9. While I don't like the idea of DHing him, I also don't like the idea of him in RF. I think that he needs to lose a little weight to be athletic enough to cover right field. I guess that it would be ok if we had excellent defenders in center and left. But, an outfield of Pods, Rios and Quentin could get ugly unless they have Jones and Kotsay filling in and rotating at DH so that Pods and Quentin aren't out there together so much.
  10. I really believe that the Yanks let Matsui go. They've added Granderson and as long as they re-sign Damon as expected they'll not have a need for another left handed bat and they don't like his defense. He should be available and I think the Angels would be in on him.
  11. It all really comes down to, is there a team out there willing to pay Pods what he's looking for? If not, and I don't suspect there is, then he'll be back where the White Sox want him.
  12. I'm not sure that I even believe Thome and Dye were in the same bar out in nowhere, illinois. And, I sure don't believe Thome is going oout in public and getting hammered and making out with chicks. But, it sounds good.
  13. I think the only reason that he isn't trading Jenks is because he hasn't seen a good offer for him. I think if he gets one, he'll pull the trigger.
  14. Is there really a post about Angel Pagan? Really?
  15. I thought this was really good and I agree on the overhyping of Jordan Danks. I don't think that he is close to being a solid Major Leaguer right now.
  16. Yeah, that all soounds good. I hope you're right. But, I don't think so. Firstly, I don't think Gonzalez is getting traded right now. Secondly, I'm not sure that Konerko would be easy to trade without the Sox picking up some of his contract so I think he stays. I do think that Jenks would be moved and I would be happy to throw in Tyler Flowers for Upton. Something like that could happen. Realistically, I believe Kenny is trying to get a leadoff hitting outfielder as his # 1 priority. The FA's we know about - Pods, Crisp, Figgins etc. or the trade route like Upton. He's already addressed the bench so all that's left is the bullpen. We'll have to see what Jenks will bring in return. As far as adding vets to the bench instead of giving the kids a chance, the Sox did that last year. No playoffs. Lesson learned.
  17. This is great. Now I can sleep again when I think about who might be the last guy in the Sox bullpen in 2013.
  18. The Sox are just waiting to announce the signing until after AARP ok's Omar's health.
  19. I think he'd be a perfect fit for the Sox at DH on a 2-year deal. Just add Pods to Vizquel and the Sox are set. I think they'd win the division but that might bring the payroll to $ 110 mil.
  20. I've never seen him either and that's why I think he's 6'4". I'm certain of it.
  21. Maybe the Sox can trade Peavy and Rios for prospects and build the bullpen back up.
  22. My predictions: Cleveland, KC and Detroit play worse from here on out. Detroit does not make any additions. Minnesota makes a move and plays better from here on out. They will be tough to catch. Quentin comes back and Beckham gets even better - wins ROY. The lineup is excellent from here on out. Kenny makes no move to add pitching. Colon becomes the 5th starter for a while and then Richard finishes the season there. The pitching falls apart and the Sox finish in second place 4 games behind Minnesota with 82 wins. Thome, Konerko and Dye continue to have great seasons. Contreras pitches pretty well for the rest of the season. So, when the season ends we will still be debating whether or not to offer arb./ re-sign Thome, Dye, Contreras or Dotel. But, we will have a lot of good young talent throughout the system!
