  2. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Don't do it. Eating s*** for 5 hours > working at fast food You eat pieces of s*** for breakfast??? Anyone know the movie?
  3. Trivia question: When's the last time nitetrain made a post during a day the sox won?
  4. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) f*** no. Back in my day, there were no fat people. We had to walk everywhere. Did you have to walk 15 miles in the freezing cold during a blizzard to get to school?
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) Just tell my parents that you should get your son one for his 16th. Phone number?
  6. Ok, someone want to explain to me why the game is blacked out on espn here in carbondale?
  7. The lineup definitely looks terrible on paper, a few times this year though these kind of lineups have some how scored some runs...lets hope so. I will say I do understanding resting Scotty, he's just coming back off a groin injury, played both games yesterday and was running a lot.
  8. Congrats to both of the, well deserved for both
  9. Uh oh: Timo lf ozuna 3b Aj c Konerko dh Rowand cf dye rf blum 1b Uribe ss harris 2b
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) He cant be any worse than Ozuna over there. This I definitely agree with. Like I said, I love Walkers bat, it would jsut be interesting where he would fit in everyday.
  11. I'd absolutely love Walker, he's a very good hitter. There's a few things though: 1. Levine is saying this so it won't happen, 2. Oh boy, here we go, WHERE WOULD HE PLAY. Honestly, I know he can give Tad a rest every now and then but Walker really would be one of our best hitters we'd have to find somewhere for him to play and there really isn't a place to put him.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) Such as.............. There's been 3 sig bets I've beat him in. The first one was Vermont vs. 'Cuse in the ncaa tournament, the 2nd was a Sox-Tigers game a few months back where the sox were down by 1 in like the 3rd inning and he took the tigers and the third was that the sox would make atleast one trade before the trade deadline.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) I know, the Dolphins are MUCH worse. Damn that personal attack rule You're right unfortunately
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) Aren't you usually the one that loses bets with DBAH0? He's the one that always loses bets to me I don't like the Bears but there is no way they're the worst team in the league...
  15. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) don't take nearly enough walks Uhh....??? Everyone here already knows how I feel about Oakland in the playoffs but cmon now....
  16. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) How many World Series have Billy Beane built team played in? What are his teams' record in the postseason? Therefore, does Oakland fit the definition of "World Series Caliber" team? You can win with a small payroll, you just need an able gm. I forgot who it was but someone gave an example of how the pirates didn't protect chris shelton, a guy who just absolutely tore up the minors, that move costs nothing and they could have had a star on their hands but now they just don't have him. Is it easier to build a world series winner with a high payroll...hell yeah, is it possible to win the series with a smaller payroll...you better believe it.
  17. That sig is awesome. Well done Chimpy.
  18. Vlad shatters his bat and the a's win. That's good stuff there, playoff baseball in august....
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) Angels got speed on board (Figs) and Houston Street is in. Cabrerra at the plate and GA/Vladdy due up with 1 out. Time to mlb.tv it.
  20. Kielty went yard.

Verizon is very good, that's what I have now because I have a national package now. When I was in chicago I had U.S. Cellular which was absolutely amazing service wise, unfortunately they don't cover carbondale.
  22. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) Bartolo is definitely the CY leader. I'd rank them Colon, Santana, Buehrle, Garland at this point. Also, I wanted to mention BIG MO deserves some dap. He's playing great for the Padres and contributed again tonight I really hope that continues. I want to see Olivo succeed real bad.
  23. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Actually, from what I saw tonight, all it'll take is Pods getting hot, getting on base often, and wreaking havoc on the basepaths. He created quite a few things for the offense today. Also a good point. I just used dye and aaron as examples because there have been points this season where they have carried the offense for stretches(especially dye). Having pods back is absolutely huge though, the game just changes when he's on base.
  24. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) And remember this is the first win of whats going to be a nice winning streak (ie the Sox are gonna go on a roll winning series after series). I honestly believe this as well. The offense just was so impressive tonight, it's almost liked something clicked add that to the pickmeup bmac gave to this team, I can easily see a nice winning streak coming along.
  25. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) Like I mentioned earlier in the year when he went back down. He was tipping his pitches and because of it he had zero confidence in throwing it. He made adjustments and got back the arm slot and has just been throwing blanks ever since. It was a fact of the opposition being able to read changeup mixed with him losing confidence in the pitch. He got the swagger back and its made a huge difference. He's also working on a 2 seamer IIRC and we'll see that a bit more this spring. I also heard some grumblings about adding a slider to his rep eventually, but I think the Sox plan on taking things slow when it comes to stuff like that. He has a plus change and curveball and a good fastball, thats bordering on plus because of his command. This is a very very impressive pitcher and assuming he stays healthy, he's going to have a very very bright future in this league. Its a blessing in disguise that the Sox didn't make any moves and if we hold onto Chris Young that will be another blessing if you ask me. The system has a few guys that I deem "special" and I think we will be lucky to watch them slowly gel in with some of the current players in potential creating a dynasty of sorts on the South Side of Chicago. Thanks for the info about the change, I did not know that. Also, yes I think Brandon is a special pitcher and a special player, I have not seen Young play much(besides the few ab's at the futures game) but he sounds like he just has absolutely outstanding talent, I'm very excited to see him play eventually.
