  1. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) Garland pitches like a coward (look guys, I was careful how I said it! ). Watch Pedro pitch. He attacks hitters. He could have faced Babe Ruth without even flinching. And he would have come right at him. He doesnt back down for anyone. Garland is scared of the hitters. He will never be a great if he doesnt gain courage. As for Ozzie, he was here last year and we stunk. Its the new guys who made us good. We are winning in spite of Ozzie. All he does is bring bad publicity with his goofy jokes. And, McCarthy, all I can say is damn. He will be on my favorites list shortly if he keeps this up. 14 straight innings without allowing a run, but unlike Garland who did his scoreless streak against Detroit and Oakland (when they stunk), BMac has done it against Boston and Texas, the two best offenses around. BMac is an aggressive pitcher, and he will soon be better than Garland could ever hope to be. Ace in the making, and a completely different pitcher than he was earlier. This kid aint scared of nothin'. It's funny how garland and pedro basically have the same bb/ip ratio.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) That wagon had a lot of stretching room before this year.... I was aboard, I was aboard when he had an era over 6 or 7 at the beginning of this season and because of that qwerty gets a nice little sig soon.

I'd assume opening day is back on the road?
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) WTH are you talking about? So what if he says you shouldn't boo Magglio. It's his opinion. Sure, the whole contract thing didn't end the way it should have, but Magglio gave us what, five, six years of an All-Star caliber RFer. If he feels that people shouldn't boo Magglio, he certainly has a right to say it. Yup, his opinon..no doubt. Absolutely nothing wrong with either side of that argument imo. Like I've said before the reason I got pissed at Maggs was him bad mouthing the organization, leaving for more money is just the business part of the game imo.
  6. Don't look now but the Giants are 5.5 games back and have 7 left with the Pads, and Bonds maybe returning. Gotta love the nl west.
  7. Fantastic work as always, dep.
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) I'm hoping Ozzie doesn't go that route. This is a big game as far as homefield in the playoffs go. Hey, if we get to use our closer then it's a good thing, right?
  9. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) No; a team 30+ games over .500 should be able to beat a team that came into the series 15 games back and was consistently sub-mediocre. That's not news. The other way around certainly is. For the record this is the guy who said Buehrle is overrated cause he doesn't throw hard, the twins are a machine and injuries don't matter for them, on an offday for the sox last year when it was still a race and the Twins lost, he said it couldn't be a good day because the cubs won and I think he predicted the Sox to win 75 games this year, these are just some of the things he has said.
  10. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) We swept a losing team. Let's not get too excited. Tomorrow is much more important than these games. And this entire month, save perhaps for the Cleveland series, will pale in comparison to the Los Angeles of Anaheim games. If we win those, which is far from certain, then maybe you can get excited. You still banned from wsi homefish?? Same schtick different site...
  11. Not sure wtf that was, safe or out that was a dumb play by scotty. Lets shut 'em down Dustin.
  12. QUOTE(Spiff @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) They're getting a little too creative with the camera angles. Blimp shot on a fly ball = hard to follow. I hate that.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Its bonderman facing us. Nasty slider, Ozzie is trying to stack the deck with as many lefties as he can throw in. I understand the players playing. I dont however understand why Blum isnt playing 3rd and Pablo is playing SS. That would make more sense for me. I wouldn't be surprised if now that Ozuna is actually playing a solid 3rd base that he'll be the everyday 3rd baseman the rest of the year even when Joe comes back.
  14. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) Agree 100%. I know we're not supposed to use personal attacks around here, but it is hard to see how Ozzie does not have some sort of weird favortism going for Timo. Very weird. Ozzie likes Timo because he comes up with big hits time and time again, it's really that simple.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Our lead is comfortable enough I think that im actually rooting for the Indians a little to get 2 teams from the AL Central into the playoffs. And than could you imagine how pissed ESPN would be if both of us won our first rounds. BBTN would be cancelled I'm comfortable with this lead but I'm not rooting for Cleveland until we have this thing clinched.

QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) Dumb question... does the game pick up where we left off, or start over? Star over, unfortunately.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Who the hell is starting BM? Yes sir.
  18. Another awesome game. On a sidenote Nathan is having some problems closing it out.
  19. LOL, Monroe buckled and still swung.
  20. QUOTE(kman @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) wats da score any1 kno? 2-1 Twins.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Whew. Aaron Boone almost hit another bomb against Johan. I thought that was gone...phew.
  22. QUOTE(AirScott @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) with the numbers he's put up this year, had he played the full season I'd say he'd be well worth that money. He's making what 12 mill this year?? While Jermaine is making 4, Maggs is a better player then Jermaine but not THAT much better.
  23. QUOTE(AirScott @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) I would have liked if we kept Maggs. the only question is where would he play? Maggs is a great hitter and a great player but at that kind of money Detroit can have him.
