If carl doesn't get them over or in, I'm pretty sure you'll see a double steal with pauly up there but screw that, make it moot Carl. -

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) Even though Crede isn't at 100% anymore I think he can get hot as usual in the 2nd half. Could be but I think what we've seen with Joe is what we're going to get around .240-250ish with 20-25 homers and suburb defense, which is absolutely fine with me. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Yeah, I've noticed that. I thought he had a double off the bat before, but Sizemore was shaded that way. When Uribe gets on fire at the plate, this is going to be a special offense. There a few guys in our lineup still that can hit much better: Juan, Pauly, and AJ. Juan atleast is starting to make solid contact, Pauly has looked much much better as of late and I still think AJ will get better, he's just to good of a hitter not to. OT: Why the hell does everyone think we were the first team to 10 wins, I've heard that on national broadcasts a million times. -

Juan's starting to hit more balls hard just getting unlucky a bit the last few games, I guess that's what happens when you're struggling overall. -

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) They mentioned that we are last in the league in doubles. They are catching onto us. But they haven't mentioned the triples, I think we're ok.......for now. -

Aj's just a bit off, he's taking good swings and is just underneath the ball. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) It's shocking that the Indians weren't expecting Dye to be running. Usually, when you hit a player, especially intentionally, the player is going to try and steal. You'd think after the first two games no matter who was on base they'd expect him to be moving one way or another. -

That's awesome. Dye's been a very good base stealer and it's starting to look like he's not afraid to run out there anymore either. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Pretty good play by Crede there, as he made it look easy. I'm not so sure Ozuna would have been able to come up with it. Crede makes a lot of hard plays look routine. Pablo has problems knowing when to charge the ball and when to lay back and that was one of those plays that could have eaten him up. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) Hope Hafner is ok, but wouldn't mind if he misses tomorrow's game also. Hafner didn't do a very good job at getting out of the way of that pitch, but I have a feeling that someone will get plunked on the Sox next inning. Ya, it wasn't intentional Hafner just hung in there to long. However, you're probably right someone will be plunked. -
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) Again, you bring up his stats from last year which were with Leo. He hasn't been good without Leo. Nothing leads me to believe that Cruz will become the pitcher of last year. Cruz was good in his brief stint in 01, very good in 02, bad in 03 but he was jerked around like no other that year. He was awesome last year, started off poorly this year for Oakland but has pitched well in the minors, I'd take my chances with him.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) If you can get Juan Cruz for Shingo, you do it every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Look at Cruz's stats from Atlanta last year, plus he's doing extremely well in AAA. Before anyone says Leo Mazzone, this guy had nasty stuff when he pitched for the Cubs. He fits the White Sox situation perfectly ... a guy who can spot start or relieve. I would be very happy if this happens, it would be an excellent deal for the White Sox. A little hijack of the thread here but Jim since I'm on quickman's s*** list now look at what he said to me on page 32 of the last trade thread: I remember, want another one...Indians will take three of four and this board will be clamoring for a trade. Good to see his predictions are still right on
-
Actually Shingo for Cruz makes a ton of sense. Shingo's not being used at all anyways right now, Cruz could come in and be our long reliever and a spot starter if needed. That would actually be an awesome move.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) Iguchi really struggled yesterday, but he's on record as saying he doesn't like to sit out, because he feels like he loses his rhythm at the plate. One thing we can't do tonight is try and play station-to-station baseball. Westbrook's sinker will result in quite a few DP if we don't try and create stuff on the bases. The 6th or 7th last night(whichever inning it was) was just a thing of beauty, I hope we see much more of that. Ozzie just gave us two runs by being aggressive, it was awesome. -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:18 AM) Actaully didn't Harden go for 7 1/3? Yes.
