  1. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) Im listening to the radio here in SF and on XM radio Jayson Stark said that Larry Monroe was scouting Jason Schmidt performance last night Anymore info then that or was that all he said???
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) We need an arm in the pen, that's priority #1. Unless there is a super-duper star ace starter available....and I don't see that out there. Schmidt has been that though and it looks like he's reverting back to that form. I agree another arm in the bullpen should be a priority, however if Shingo continues to throw the way he has his last few outings then imo a bullpen arm really isn't needed cause we'll have 5 studs basically down there with Viz
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Prospects??? Why is anyone even mentioning keeping prospects. Look at the two that we traded for Freddy, seems we lucked out in that deal. Prospects are not proven, not a sure thing, but this season is starting to look like one. This might be our one chance to take this team to the promised land. Should we sacrafice that for a small chance that one of our propects might be an ok player in the future. Hell no, trade em all, trade em now, we have more. Anderson might never have a spot for him until 2 years for now, trade his ass. BMAC is good, but there may be better behind him, trade him. Trade everyone, I want to win NOW. This is the best team any of us have ever seen, do you want to waste it? I sure as hell dont. Olivo the guy I was actually the most depressed to see go has been horrendous but Reed has been decent and Morse has been real good so far, however yeah we easily won that deal imo cause you can't find many pitchers like Freddy. For the most part I agree with you and knowing that Schmidt has a team option for next year I'd make a deal for him in a heartbeat he has a 16 inning scoreless streak right now and he's starting to get it back to the form that made him a cy young candidate for the last few years. Schmidt is a great, great pitcher and the Sox have some money left to spend for this year so why not use it to bring in Jason. Then because he has a team option for next year then you figure out what to do with him next year when next year comes.
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) So, he's like countless other experts who the Sox are making look foolish. Yup, but for the most part he's as good as an analyst as there is around baseball.
  5. Ozzie doesn't recieve grief?? Good one Dusty.
  6. Out of that list, Oswalt by a large margin and then Schmidt.
  7. God, I knew this team was going to be very good this year but this is ridiculous. I absolutely love this, 10 games up on June 22nd unf***inreal
  8. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) I wouldnt be looking ahead to who you play in the playoffs just yet. Just enjoy your run. Let the chips fall when they may Its easier to get let down when your team loses in the playoffs. Im not saying I hope the Sox lose to the Yanks int eh first round or anything, but we are not even to the All Star break We still play your boys 13 times. I'm comfortable with this lead and I think we're going to win it but it's in no shape or form wrapped up.
  9. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) I swear we always were saying this about the Twins the past couple years. It seemed like they never lost, I know the exact feeling he's talking about.
  10. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) In this case yes normally I would totally agree with you but he his game has improved steadily. He still owns the Longest HR at the Met with 500 ft+ shot into the soccer fields off BMAC. I think he gets traded in deal to bring FLA some help. Thanks for all the info. I just saw he was 26 and just figured he's a little to old to playing in a game like this.
  11. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) Sox new SP.. And we only have to give up BMac, anderson, Sweeney and Gio.. What a steal! I can't wait.. Orlando Cabrera And Polanco sucks, you were completely right on both accounts.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) I'll admit I missed it. But 1 changeup does not a wonderful Takatsu make. Did he throw it for a strike? No it was outside. Your point is well taken but Shingo has been getting his slow junk over lately, today he just was locating his fastball so beautifully I guess him and Widge felt like there was no need to throw anything else with a 4 run lead.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) I wasn't too excited about his performance today for 1 single reason; every pitch he threw was a fastball. He had excellent control on that fastball, kept the ball down, moved inside and out, but still, he didn't throw a single pitch that didn't clock between 87 and 89. He needs to be able to throw the changeup and the curve for strikes every now and again to get people off balance. Without that, he'll ace the Royals, but someone else will sit on his fastball and drive it. He did throw one changeup.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) No problem. Btw, I have heard great things about Jenks, I did back in the day when he was drafted, but how were we able to acquire him? He was waived by the Angels.
  15. I love Juan Pierre and in years passed I would have given the world to have him on the Sox, however this year with the Sox arguably having the best top of the order in baseball I'd leave Pierre alone, keep the team the way it is.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:58 PM) He has really developed, could be a late bloomer IMO...... Florida may end up trading him for help on the struggling MLB club since they already have LoDuca at C and his value is probably sky high right now. Thanks for the info
  17. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Willingham is an awsome catcher. Got to see him last season he will be a good one for years to come. Am I looking to far into age then?? I really haven't seen him play that much and I know he's been damn good this year I just saw he was 26 and thought maybe he really didn't belong in this game.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Your kidding right?? Willingham has lead the world (minor league world) in EVERYTHING for most of this season. This is true, however he's rather old to be in the futures game imo, he's already 26 while obviously he's not done I just don't think he should necessarily be in this game.
  19. A couple questions for someone who might know, why isn't Felix Hernandez in this game and why the heck is Josh Willingham in it??
  20. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) Jenks, Chris Young on US team with Razor as a coach, nobody on the world team. Wow, I wouldn't have thought those two. Maybe Jenks but Young really surprises me. Either way this kind of makes me happy in a way I haven't seen Jenks pitch or Young play that much so now I'll get an opportunity.
  21. Congrats to Baj!!!!!!
  22. Buehrle=Stud, that is all.
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) He's getting better, no doubt. It'd be huge to see him become a valuable piece of the bullpen again. Shingo's getting there, his last 3 outings he's looked outstanding. I think he's starting to get back to last years form but I want to see him do it consistantly for a while before I declare him back. It would be a huge boost to our pen though if we can get him back to last years form it would be like adding a stud reliever to our pen.
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) Totally different Shingo. It's the Shingo that throws first pitch strikes. He's looked like last years shingo the last 3 times he's been out there, he's getting there, hopefully he can keep this up now.
