  1. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) Thank-you. Passed balls and missed throws havemade Cora look a lot better than he is. It's called putting pressure on the defense and you have to make a perfect relay to throw our guys out, it's not fricken lucky because it happened all of last year and the start of this year, he's aggressive and it works.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) Noone ever reads the futuresox board. Meh, I think a lot of us read that board. There are just some who don't, no big deal.
  3. QUOTE(backman @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) When was the last heisman not to get drafted??? I I think it was '94 not sure about that though but the guy was Charlie Ward.
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) Why on earth would we want LaToya? He sucks. I mean he flat out sucks. I think Shingo gives us enough heartburn in the closer spot. We don't need this slug here. I'd take Latroy in a f***in heartbeat. He's a sucky ass closer but if he's not the best setup man in baseball he's right up there. That being said I highly doubt he's going anywhere right now.
  5. QUOTE(shakes @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) Prior has top three stuff in the league. I disagree with that. Anyways, Jon has been great and I hope he continues but Prior's still obviously the better pitcher so I still say Prior's the choice to make here.
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) This thread completely fell apart when someone bet that Neal Cotts would have an ERA under 4 this season Yeah that was me. Go check his era right now, you sure rip the right people on this team. :headshake EDIT: By the way Neal's obviously still got a way to go in this season, he's just one of those guys I feel strongly about on this team that he's going to be a very good pitcher.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) I'll be listening to Rooney and Farmer. Hawk is insufferable during A's games. Ha, I love it.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) I'm not ready to call it the deepest bullpen in baseball but it's pretty good I said it could be the deepest pen in the league and there aren't many teams in baseball who have 6 solid arms down in the pen.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) I absolutely love this bullpen Biggest strength on the team, imo. It's quite possibly the deepest bullpen in baseball and we have guys at the backend who can really shut the door especially when shingo starts throwing strikes again, this bullpen is outstanding.
  10. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) This is true and I completely agree. These sportscenter guys have been saying the same thing for years, every year people crow on this board that they don't know what they are talking about. Right now they are the favorites becaus ehtye have won. We need to prove to everyone that we are better, nobody is just going to give us anything. Actually it seems like the people on SC have picked everyone but the twinkies. The twins are still the favorites and still should be. I do think the sox are the best team in the division but until we beat Minny it's still their division to lose. Brantley's just an idiot, period, his reasoning was ridiculous as to why the sox wouldn't win it.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Politte Cotts Marte Crede 14 game hitting streak Vizcaino :puke The bullpen was awesome today and I don't think Viz deserves the puke smilie, he let up a broken bat single to a guy he should have been pitching around. Not only is Sweeney the best player on that team Viz is better against lefties then righties, it made to much sense to pitch around Mike I guess. Why am I b****ing about this, we won the f***in the game
  12. MERCY!! The way the sox played they had no business winning this game yet some how they managed to pull this one out, unbelievable. I really love this team.
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) Nothing against Harris here either, but those stolen bases is something that DOES show up in the stats. That's the big difference between Harris and Podsednik. YAS, the stolen base is the obvious one but I was talking about what other things Scott does when he's on the base paths. He messes pitchers up, period, that's really the best way I can describe it. We've seen a few pitchers and catchers get sloppy while he's on base because they're worrying about him so much. Then there's those runs where he hits a little infield single, moves up on a bouncer in the infield, steals 3rd and then scores on a wild pitch, those things are just so degrading for the opposing team.
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) It's still early and he has a point with the way Minny has played the past three seasons. On the other hand, I think the Twins and Sox have a nice shot at the Wild Card. I could care less what people on ESPN say about the team and Minny still should be the favorite but his reasoning was idiotic. Anyways, I got a bad feeling about this game. Hopefully Jose will throw some strikes today, GO SOX!!!
  15. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Just wondering where you came up with this theory but, according to last years stats Willie is actually the better leadoff hitter.. if you wanna compare AVG and OBP.. No offense to willie cause I have nothing against him but he's no where near the player scott is. Scott does so many things that doesn't show up in the stats to help a team win games.
  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 09:21 AM) Fine by me. I'm sure they haven't lost it yet, but this keeps that chip on the players' shoulder. No doubt. Brantley says the sox have bullpen issues that will show up later in the season :rolly EDIT: I could care less what these guys have to say but imo the bullpen is the strongest area on the team and he thinks it's a weak spot, yeah he's an idiot.
  17. "Coming up next on sportcenter why our experts say teh white sox won't make the playoffs this year." This should be interesting.
  18. Happy belated bday, hope you had a good one.
  19. QUOTE(ISF @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Geez. The groin has a good game and everyone's ready to canonize him. He's certainly a better leadoff hitter than Willie Harris, but this guy batted .244 last year. How 'bout we wait a little while before retiring his jersey? Just incase you didn't see it in the other thread that is the worst nickname ever. Anyways I've just fallen in love with the way scott plays the game and it's not from one game. When he's on base he's in scoring position and he messes with the pitchers minds takes them out of their rythms and next think you know there is a couple runs on the board.
  20. QUOTE(ISF @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) The groin I'm sorry but that is the DUMBEST nickname I have ever seen. EDIT: As for Juan and his sac flies, it seems when he has a job to do he makes sure just to make contact and not over swing. A lot of times in regular situations he pulls off the ball cause he's swinging so hard, he stays on the pitch much longer when he has a job to do.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) Rowand's always been a slow starter. He'll hit. Agreed, I have no worries about Aaron or Jermaine I think they'll both be fine.
  22. Sounds like the Twins keep adding more and more depth to that farm system of theirs.
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) His arm is also a noodle arm ( wo0t he has one assist that anyone could have made) he also has problems picking the ball up much like rowand who does it every other game and it really pisses me off to no end. I know what i have heard about him and seen from him in the past and he was bad. I can only hope it changes for the better but i do not have high hopes. You don't have to respond since i know how you feel about his defense. Am I allowed to respond? Fair enough on your comments, everyone has their own opinion though mine is always right.
  24. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Brewers fans won't i can tell you that much. He misreads balls all the time, gets bad jumps too, he does make up for it most times with his speed... but he cannot be classified a good fielder. I've seen him misplay one ball this year and in spring training when I was down there I'll tell you he was getting outstanding jumps. As I said before I couldn't recall his defense when he was with the brewers so maybe he wasn't a great centerfielder but as of right now I'd classify him as a pretty good left fielder from what I've seen out of him. Obviously it's early but that's my early opinion on him.
