Bad Representation
After the balk last night this one idiot sitting behind me kept saying "don't you know we beat up umpires here," I swear I wanted to turn around and punch the guy, what an idiot.

Hermanson
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) and they did the same thing to him last season. Lefties hit .215 off shingo last year.

Hermanson
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) I was thinking in the chat that he had two off of him from tonight. I guess i was just thinking of the two home runs he hit in that game. Anyway, he is gonna be a stud no matter what position he plays. As long as he stays healthy he's going to be a great player. To steal a line from Hawk "he's dangerous," that guy scares the hell out of me everytime he's up.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) In a 1 run game? The difference is another blown save. Luckily we had a 2 run cushion. My thing is, Shinjo vs. Mauer is a piss-poor matchup for Takatsu. I am a big proponent of letting your closer start the 9th inning and not come into trouble, but thats a matchup that shouldnt have happened. It wasn't a one run game, it was a 2 run game, meaning in that situation a single and a homer do the same thing.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) He didn't do fine today, but he wasnt awful either. Mauer owns Shinjo apparently. Now with that being said, I'm not ready to crown Hermy the new closer or anything, I still think its Shinjos job. But next time I see him give up 2+ HRs in a save situation, I'm gonna be sad and ready for Hermy to spell him for a bit. What's the difference beteween a homerun and a single in that situation? Basically nothing. He gave up one hit and shut it down when he had to, he did fine imo.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) Marte needs to be the set up man for Hermey and Shingo needs to be back in the clubhouse serving up chop suey instead of serving gofer balls like he did again tonight. You know what, if shingo let up a single tonight we'd be hearing about how good he pitched and the thing is the homerun meant the same damn thing for this game, leave the guy alone today, he did fine.

Tuesday night's weather

And That's A White Sox Winner!!!!!!!
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Cotts is awful. Just like Crede, right?

Who do you want up in the bottom of the 9th?
For me it's Carl or AJ, those two are probably the most clutch guys we have.
-
Bobby Fischer...
Jeremy Schaap handled the situation very well and he's a bigger man then me because I would have knocked fischer out. Kudos to Jeremy

The most memorable Rodman moment...
QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Probably the way he man-handled Shaq in the paint. Not many can do it. He might have been the only one ever, which is truely amazing considering how undersized he was.

The most memorable Rodman moment...
There's a lot of things that stand out about Dennis's stay here, just a great player. My image of Dennis kind of comes down to him flying through the air going for a loose ball and him staring down malone during freethrows.

Bulls to sign funderburke... pending psychical.
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) I love Rodman, but he's ugly as f***..lol Rodman's one of my all time favorites, I just loved the way he played the game.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) Scorer off the bench and another body to pick up fouls. We should have given rodman a look... and i am cereal. I'd bet anything that Rodman could still be very productive in the nba.

Joe Crede or Jose Valentin?
QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) doesnt he bat switch again? I saw him bat righty and lefty vs a lefty in the same game last week but I do believe for the most part he's back to switch hitting.

Sox 2005 Introductions
QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) bboyer@chisox.com? Yes ma'am. I agree with you too, the intro's last year were perfect and this year they've been pretty dissapointing.

MVP Baseball 2005
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) My relationship with my ps2 is love hate. Sometimes I'll play it everyday for two weeks, then I won't play it for a month. I'm just back into the ps2 mode for now. I'll get sick of it by next week. Ditto here. During winter break I played my ps2 for hours each day, now that it's baseball season I haven't played in a while.

4/18/05 Official Game Thread: Sox vs. Cakes
QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) I know it's kinda early, but I thought I'd get this going for good luck... I'll be at the game once again and hope for a Sox winner. We've gotta get wins against the Twinkies early in the season to help "set the tone" for the rest of the season. Here's hoping that Contreras brings his A game to the table and that "smart ball" wins out in the end... I'll be there too. Scott should hopefully be back in the lineup which should help get the offense back in sink. Hopefully Jose can throw strikes tomorrow and we can take the first game of this series

Mariners @ Sox Game Thread (4/17, 2:05 p.m. CT)
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) I don't know what the replay showed. I was sitting in row 1 of section 145, and if I was an impartial umpire, I'd have run Everett up. It looked like he swung. I told my friend right after the pitch that I hope they don't appeal. It wasn't even close to a swing, awful call.

quick question
QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) what time do they open the gates? can you see batting practice? An hour and a half early, I've been there for the visitor's bp before but never for the sox.

Mariners @ Sox Game Thread (4/17, 2:05 p.m. CT)
Well, I had to leave to go to some stupid f***in family dinner before the bottom of the 9th so I didn't see what happened but I'm personally not going to get mad at Willie for getting thrown out by one of the better arms in the league, I personally don't like that decision for ozzie to send him there because willie isn't a good base stealer but I can also see why ozzie would do that, to me it just sounds like we got beat. As for people calling freddy an average pitcher cause he had 2 bad innings today, GMAFB.

QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) it has to do with timo being a lefty facin the righty meche IMO..i feel that if we were facing moyer today ozuna would leadoff and play out in LF but im not the manager so who knows That's probably right, Ozzie seems to love playing those matchups.

espn.com
QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) Dumb unrelated question: Do Cubs still show games on FSN? Nope. That channel has become useless in Chicago.
