QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) I thought it was his groin...?? That's what I meant EDITED -
The marlins really don't need a bullpen.

I guess the groin is still bugging Scott a bit or they're just being careful with him which would be smart, anyways: ozuna lf iguchi 2b everett dh konerko 1b dye rf rowand cf pierzynski c crede 3b uribe ss -
Louisville forward Garcia to enter NBA draft
Rowand44 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I think Garcia is going to be a very good pro, jmo. -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) Dmitri's still not worried. Why would he be, he knows the truth--it's coming down to the Tigers and Indians for the central title, period. :banghead

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) I do not find that funny. Yes you do. Trust me on this one.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) At best, Ozuna is an excellent bench guy, but not good enough to be an everyday player. Think Ross Gloadish. DBAHO, don't get me wrong I wasn't suggesting Ozuna to start or anything cause at this point that's ridiculous, I was just saying that Ozuna did rake in the minors, that's all.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) and pick up who? Danny Wright, Jon Rauch maybe? Seriously though, Milton's awful.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) To the fella suggesting that Pablo Ozuna should be starting over Crede, consider that Ozuna is pretty much Triple A fodder while Crede has been a MVP at two different levels in the minors. Had Ozuna not raked the ball in Tucson, he wouldn't even be on the team. I'll support Crede because he plays hard and puts in the effort. As long as I see that from any player on the Sox, I'll be a supporter. I wouldn't call Ozuna a aaa fodder, he raked in the minors, the problem is he aged a bit in one day. Most of us can agree though that it's ridiculous for people to be suggesting starting changes after 7 games.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) And we're winning, so every1 be happy. Ha, I'm afraid to see what this place is going to look like when the sox have a two game losing streak. Could be pretty scary.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) You were saying? Ha, we'd be 0 and 162 if Poppy's predictions came true.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) I thought the roid suspensions were made public? Before this year usually the minor league steroid suspensions were kept within but that obviously changed with the 38 minor leaguers that were made a public a week or so ago.

Twins and White Not a Factor in the Central?
Rowand44 replied to Pasqua's Mailman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) well yeah no arguing that, but this is a big learning year for them.... Berroa, Dejesus, Buck, Teahan... whose their 2B Gotay?? All those are young guys and with a year under their belt will be much improved next year... I just wonder if they will be able to unload Mike Sweeney this year. Ya, Gotay is their 2nd baseman, I personally think he's going to be a good player, he didn't really put up great numbers in the minor leagues but he's got a short and quick swing and a live bat. I think he's going to be a good player but that's jmo. -

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) Idonno the Royals pitching staff isnt as bad as you make it out to be.. Hernandez and Greinkie are both good pitchers, Anderson and Lima are both avg. pitchers would be our number 5's but they can pitch a good one here or there... dont know their last pitcher. Lima and Anderson wouldn't crack the rotation of the sox. I agree though Hernandez and Greinke are both solid pitchers and bautista ain't bad either. I don't see Runylves(sp?) making it through the whole season and it'll be interesting to see the growing pains of Greinke and Bautista. KC is an improved team because their starting pitching is definitely better, however they're still finishing in the cellar by plenty of games. -
I support every player on this team and hope they all succeed as well everyone should. Joe's swing started to look good during the first game of the twins series and he's looking better and better at the plate each day, hopefully it continues.
-
I'd take Aaron over Torrii but that's a pretty good argument.
-
That's to bad. Walker's one of the players on the cubs I really respect, he's just a professional hitter. Lucky for the cubs here, this is the one position they have some depth at.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) i know, but i'm just saying to not get too cocky... its still very early Oh trust me, I'm not cocky at all, the twins still scare the crap out of me, I just don't think the Tigers or the Indians will be there at the end of the year. -

QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) whats interesting is he has a point... i just looked at the runs each team has scored so far... Twins are LAST and we're 3rd to LAST... Guess who's first in the AL? Detroit... who knows guys... anything is still possible Ya, we were 3rd in the league last year in runs scored, that didn't get us very far. -

QUOTE(Pasqua's Mailman @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) That quote from today's Detroit News blew my mind. I guess a .500 start has the Tigers thinking big. http://www.detnews.com/2005/tigers/0504/11/D01-146478.htm I assume he means it's going to come down to them and the Indians for 3rd place, no? -
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) Are you somehow suggesting that we should not look at improving any of our decision making? We must have won the WS for the last 5 years then..... You know what, Ozzie's the manager and he played many years in the bigs, I think he knows a little more then you about baseball. We all disagree with him at times and all want to play manager at times, hell I disagreed with putting Damaso in to start the 9th, I wanted shingo in there but it worked. The sox are 5 and 2 right now, so he's obviously doing something right, managers are going to make mistakes and ozzie's no different but not everything he does has to be critiqued.

I like what I see. For me Thursday is a huge outing for Jose, we all know he has the capabilities of shutting a team down on any given night but with him it's consistancy. The games I saw him in ST I thought he looked excellent because he was featuring his fastball a bunch which he didn't do last year, if he keeps on doing that he might just have a huge year for the sox this year. Overall, I love this team, I love the starters, I the love the pen and I love the rebuilt offense, this is going to be a fun year.

Ya, well basically everyone here called the Milton thing, just a disgusting amount of money to give an overrated pitcher.
