Man that was a quick offseason. Guess that's what happens when you play for a few extra months.

Sale by himself has already beaten about 8 million theories by 10 billion people about why his arm would fall off right away.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) I'm kinda surprised there isn't anyone giving Beckham the benefit of the doubt. I mean he was batting in the .320s before his wrist flared up in July. I'm not saying I'm not down with replacing him with Semien I'm just surprised to see no one make this point. There's certainly a case to be made for Gordons return. I think we're all done giving Gordon the benefit of the doubt. He's been around for a good amount of time now and besides his initial season, he's been terrible at the plate.

Johnson and Semien, that's it(assuming we're not considering Avi a prospect anymore). Those two should be starters in 2014 and shouldn't be going anywhere.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) What if the Sox signed Abreu and McCann and traded Santiago and something for Lawrie. How would the team stack up at that point? As bad as this team seems, a couple of hitters, guys like Viciedo, Garcia and/or Beckham stepping up, and they are a pretty good team again. Beckham is never going to step up, that's almost a done deal at this point. Hahn is going to have to make some slick moves but with the current rotation and globs on money that the Sox have, it's not unthinkable that they could be a good team next year.

While I certainly understand the concern with Hector's control, we also have to remember that this is a guy who has been jerked around the last few years by this organization. Once he finds his comfort zone as a starter he might very well harnass his control a bit. Obviously there's a possibility that he wont as well but I'm certainly willing to give him that chance before I decide that he's a completely wild pitcher.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 12:36 PM) How is dead on the ground with the cops around you an open ending? It's not. You said you wanted us to not know whether he died or was just enjoying meth.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 11:56 AM) Personally, I think the position Semien needs to play this year is 2B. I'm done with Beckham. He needs to be playing a MI spot, whether it's 2b or ss I don't really care.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 09:23 AM) What a joke. What should Sweum be fired for? For not losing enough? He was always just a transitional manager. I don't think he actually did anything that deserves a firing but it was always going to be this way.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 09:35 AM) De Aza works out to be an average Major Leaguer. Look at his numbers -- this year is no different. An average Major Leaguer at arbitration price on a team with 100 losses is nothing to shake a stick at. You guys are crazy. Yup, I completely agree. I get the frustration with De Aza as he was annoying as hell this year but the guy is not a bad baseball player. To just trade him for nothing or non tender him would be stupid.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 01:11 AM) Oh yeah, and in that final scene where Walt is around all the cooking supplies, I thought we were going to see him die with a meth pipe in his mouth. I thought maybe since he thought he was going to die anyway, he would go ahead and try his creation that got everyone killed. And then we could have tied that part in to the "he takes over the traits of those he kills" theory, because before he killed Uncle Jack, Uncle Jack grabs his cigarette and takes one last drag. I wanted to see Walt smoke some meth, and then close his eyes as the camera floats away, not knowing if he closed his eyes because he is feeling the euphoria, or because he is dead at that moment. But obviously that didn't happen, and maybe it's because that would have been a little TOO out of character for him. So you don't like that we don't know for sure what happened to Skyler but you wanted an open ending with Walt?

Should have listened to you Kenny ha. Thankfully it didn't matter as Andre Johnson was my lowest point getter this week besides my kicker. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 09:31 PM) Ha, I can't believe people have complaints about that. It wrapped up perfectly. An opinion is an opinion but that couldn't have wrapped up better.

This years Bucs are last years Chiefs.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) Ray Rice was questionable up until today. You guys should've known, Rice wasn't going to play great if they fed him the ball. And where are the people who said Spiller is the man in Denver and Fred Jackson(though I called him Thomas on accident), wasn't going to be a factor? If you don't start players that are questionable during the week you're going to be missing out on a lot of good players, that's a pretty ridiculous reason to bench Ray Rice and as Krush said you're not benching him if he plays. -

Starting Le'veon Bell turned out well for me this week. Deciding between him and James Jones as my flex every week will be a good and annoying problem to have. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 10:46 AM) With Vincent Jackson banged up but active with a rookie QB, dare I start Eddie Royal over him? I would never start Eddie Royal. -
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 09:28 AM) I just bought tickets. I've never been to the last game of the season. I wonder how many people will show up. 4.

It's Sunday and football is not the first thing on my mind.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 09:55 AM) So we have a D-Rose situation in New England. Pats think he's ready, his "camp" does not. This guy. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 09:34 AM) Never thought I would consider benching Andre Johnson this early, but anyone who has him, are you playing him... banged up and all, against Seattle? I'm considering starting Kendall Wright (facing Jets defense) over him. He's driving me nuts this week too. Not only is he banged up and playing the Seahawks but I also have their d. Still, I think because he gets so many targets and I'm in a half ppr, I have to play him. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 09:48 PM) Bell could be worth hanging onto, certainly more value than Glennon right now. He may start and get a lot of touches this week, depending on your rbs moving forward, could play on bye weeks etc. Sudfeld? Why was he on your roster after week 1? Who are your qbs that you need Glennon? Bell could possibly be a lot better than that, he's got a chance to be a good one.
