QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) He used to bore me until I started looking at him a little bit closer. He is kind of a rebel. And he is a good worker, he will put guys over that deserve it, and put on a good show. He didnt think Goldberg deserved his push back in WCW. When he was sent out to get squashed by Goldberg, he no-sold a bunch of Goldbergs power moves, and then to top it off he potatoed goldberg too. I remember watching it thinking to myself "Why isnt this over yet?", and you could see on Goldbergs face, he didnt know either, he expected a 20 second match and a spear. I think Regal was either sent home for a while or fired by WCW shortly after that I know he's a good worker, no argument there, just like I know ADR is a good worker but both guys are just boring to me. And ya, I remember the Goldberg stuff, I think that's a big reason why Regal does have a cult following.

I can honestly say that I've never understood the internet love that Regal gets, dude bores the hell out of me.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) Addison Reed don't f*** around... Well he actually does f*** around, he just manages to get the job done too.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) There's lots of stuff around Loyola (which could be where Row is in Rogers Park, dunno) that doesn't feel too college-y. Lincoln Square area is nice too, laid back, right on the brown line and 8-10 min from 94. Right around there. And Russ we used some reality website(can't remember what it was) but not craigslist.

QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 11:42 PM) No team in baseball needs a 4-5 game winning streak more than the Sox (well except Detroit, but as previously established f*** Them) I don't understand how that makes any sense.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 10:36 PM) I think so, because the only question with Robin (at least to me) was the question of whether being a color announcer at the Little League World Series would translate into being a big-league manager. He had absolutely no experience at all, aside from playing an easy, reaction position, third base for a long time and hitting at a high level for a long time. There was always the chance he could be a Bevington, a total clown in the dugout. However, he has proven he is no clown, he in fact is as good as any other manager in baseball. Let's face it, most of them make the same decisions over and over. You can second guess his use of certain relievers, but that goes with the territory. In most 3-to-5 run losses you can point to "mishandling" of the bullpen. Since he knows what he's doing, the only way he could get fired is to rub people the wrong way and there's been no evidence of any of that. The fact NO VETERANS on our team have had any hints of trouble with Robin prove he's a players' manager as well. I see him managing 20-25 years on the south side unless he decides it's too much travel and he wants to count his money for a few years and golf. If he does decide to quit at some point, I could see AJP getting the nod. You are so out of touch with sports today.

HBK's character right now is an embarrassment to HBK.

More insane: How far that ball traveled or Wimpy's laugh?

Um, good lord.

Boo on the run being scored. Cheers to Hawk's ridiculous run down call.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 04:59 PM) Anybody live in the north neighborhoods of Chicago? Im looking to move in that area, I need relatively easy access to 94 (I work up in Lake Forest), and I'd like to be within a 30min walk of the EL (red or brown line is fine). I've been thinking of Ravenswood or West Rogers Park. I moved to Rogers Park a few months ago and couldn't be happier. Everything I need(redline, metra, beach, restaurants, grocery stores) are all located within a mile radius to us. You can also find places for dirt cheap around here. I live in a 4 bedroom, 3 bath, huge, beautiful apartment with 3 other guys and we pay a whopping $2100(all together) a month. I know there's a certain stigma associated with Rogers Park but it really is a great place to live.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) Absolutely not. To this day, I have never seen the catch What the hell? Wise is a solid outfielder and a much better baserunner than Jordan. Move makes plenty of sense to me. EDIT: And very happy to see Veal back.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) When's the last time he's gotten a few swing and misses on his fastball? I don't blame him for the slider to Gomes, but the league will soon start to sit on that pitch with Thornton have zero confidence in his fastball. Not only is it a few inches slower but he's lost complete confidence in it, he throws a ton of sliders now a days compared to what he usually does. And f***.

Ugh, this game needs more everyday Jim the Anvil Neidhart.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) I wonder if Youk, like Peavy, gets mad when taken out of games. We prolly could use a pinch runner and stolen base. Ah, keep him in the game. We might need him in extra innings or in the ninth or something. It's the 7th inning, you're not taking him out.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 08:55 PM) Ironic and Literally. Two of some of most incorrectly used words I've ever heard. "Literally" seems to have exploded over the past couple years though, and almost never used correctly. Good god, it's a game thread, who gives a f***?

Is Youk the greatest human to ever live?

Outside of his first 2 outings(I wanna say) Jesse has been fantastic since coming back.

Snodgress is just tearing up the Carolina league so far.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) Shutting him down doesn't guarantee health in 2013 or 2014 anyway. He could still injure his arm again. If you have a legit chance to win the WS, you go for it, because it's not promised again. I know how bright Washington's future looks, but s*** happens in baseball. They should be treating him like the Sox have Sale. Give him extra breaks during the year from time to time, so his arm is getting rest, but can still go the whole season. 100 percent agree.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) Why not try De Aza at 9th and Beckham leading off for one game...lol Because that's an awful idea. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) But Youkilis is better equipped to make the necessary adjustments than Gordon. So why not bat Rios 9th? You can't have Beckham getting more abs than Youk, that's ridiculous.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 11:24 AM) "Bandwagon fans? He has a Joe Borchard jersey...you don't even know who that is!" "Good point" Was hoping you'd get what I was referring to. Ah the good ol days.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 12:59 PM) I sure would love to see Noah and Howard/Bynum clogging the lane so our superstar D Rose can drive into all that traffic. I'd rather have a Kevin Love next to Noah to stretch the floor. I'll sit back while your heads explode. You get rid of noah if you have Dwight, not too difficult.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 10:28 AM) Time to break out the authentic McCarthy jersey for the game. Bandwagon fan.
