  1. Crazy prolly wouldn’t be the word I use.
  2. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 06:14 PM) There's no way we trade for him right now but if this tweet is a signal that the White Sox are open to spending big next offseason then this is good news. I have absolutely no inside information and have heard nothing on the topic but they’re open to spending big next offseason, I’ll tell you that right now.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 05:39 PM) I'd still rather pass, hold the pitchers, and if he's not available as a FA target someone else. I mean, if you actually are signing Machado to an extension you get rid of Fulmer and Dunning in a heart beat. Anderson is the only would I'd be shaky about moving.
  4. When is the last time the dreaded 72 hour window actually took place? Legit question as people love to throw that around but I feel like I haven't heard about it in a while. I could absolutely be wrong on that though too.
  5. Maybe Hahn is trying to get a window to talk to Machado to try and get an idea of what he's looking for next offseason. No? Ok.
  6. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 05:20 PM) The Sox should be interested, if he wants to sign a seven year deal upon arrival to Chicago. Other than that...wait. Ha exactly. This doesn't make any sense.
  7. Guys they're not going to draft Guerrero. I hate it as much as anyone that they didn't protect him but they didn't protect him when they could have, they're not picking him.
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 09:24 AM) Not to play grammar nazi, but what a terribly written sentence. And just out of curiosity, what does this sentence even mean? It means he's old.
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 12:19 PM) I don't know why anyone would give up anything of value honestly. He's not going to re-sign anywhere. He'd be a fool not to reach free agency. A team trying to win this year can absolutely trade something significant away, the White Sox...not so much.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 11, 2017 -> 09:52 PM) Niko and Portis a fine 1-2 punch tonight. Bulls no Niko. 3-20 Bulls with Niko. 3-0 I see what you did there.
  11. QUOTE (GermanSock @ Dec 11, 2017 -> 09:11 AM) there definitely is a reliever risk. last year in AA he walked 4.5 batters per 9, the year before that it was 5. he only walked 3 in AAA but it was just 15 innings so that is not really telling. most ace Starters are under 2.5. now he is still Young and can improve, other great Starters have been wild but there is a risk that never Comes around. This doesn't tell the story at all. He improved his walk rate a ridiculous amount as the season went on. He's still young as crap and the fact that he was able to make those improvements tells you what you need to know about him.
  12. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 03:43 PM) There the Bears go winning meaningless games again. They could have had a franchise-altering draft with a trade with someone coming up to get a QB, and they blew that now. Next week is an auto-win vs. Cleveland. Detroit is out of it and Minne may have nothing to play for week 17 so 6-10 or 7-9 is possible, and that would be a disaster. Translation: Mitch was great this week so I need to find something else to complain about.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 01:28 AM) Refs update: in a game at the mgm grand, Illinois gets called for school record 36 fouls in 1 game resulting in 33 more free throws (r8 Total!!!) for UNLV Man, Illinois got screwed again?!?
  14. That Yankees outfield would need more power.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2017 -> 04:11 PM) That's a win for the Cardinals ownership. Don't have to pay Stanton, but you can show the fanbase that you tried. Honestly, their fans are kind of over trying. They've been finishing 2nd in a lot of these things lately and people seem to be getting fed up. This one you obviously can't pin on them but ya.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 04:52 PM) I would be shocked if the front office isn't using some kind of comparison strategy as to how and when to extend older players. With all of the data sources there are out there they would be fools to not be looking at historical data to decide when to let a player walk away and when to extend them. Fine, then they're going to be very confused when they try to figure out if he's Encarnacion or Albert Pujols. I hope they judge him on him and data surrounding him and not on historical data of guys who have nothing to do with him.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 04:36 PM) Well when you talk about trade or extend, this is exactly what the front office has to decide and other teams have to judge. It is absolutely the focal point of what to do with Abreu. My point is you're going to find people with Abreu's skill set who regress big time at the age you're talking about and you're going to find guys who don't regress at all, this isn't a skill set thing, it's an individual thing. There's going to be a lot that goes into an Abreu decision all together, the focal point isn't going to be well he's a lot like Edwin Encarnacion so lets extend him!
  18. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 04:34 PM) Which is why with two years left, a decision on an extension doesn’t need to be decided today. I would agree. Like I said, I'm kind of fine going any route here. Get blown away by a trade offer then trade him, if he wants to accept a fair extension then extend him, if neither of those are the case then you can just wait.
  19. I hate trying to guess one someone's skill set is going to go away. All these guys are different, who the hell knows when Abreu is going to start to regress.
  20. We literally pulled Kahnle and Swarzak out of no where. If the rest of the team is ready to contend in 2019, they can pull a decent bullpen together. I'm not worried about that at all.
  21. Wichita is a legit title contender once they get McDuffie back too. I do think Duke and MSU are your top tier though.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 6, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) Whoa Loyola beat Florida Go Valley! Just don't look at the SIU score from last night.
  23. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 6, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) I do not see a failure in planning if he plays two years and leaves for nothing as there is veteran Hispanic/Cuban leadership there that can be an asset. I actually agree with this. I'm usually not big on the whole leadership thing but him and Moncada seem to have a legit bond and having him here while Yoan grows up a bit isn't the worst thing in the world. Don't get me wrong, if we can get a huge deal for him or if he we can extend him at a good rate then please do but I'm not going to flip out if he's here for the next 2 years and then bolts.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 05:23 PM) It's 3 mill and he's not going to be blocking anyone so who the hell cares. That said, I'm tired of the dude and would rather watch almost any other person on earth play baseball than this bad baseball player but whatever. Nailed it!
