QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) Actually the Sears Centre would be a better option to draw from the Rockford area. The Sears centre only holds like 12k.

I like how there's a few people reporting that Pauly has had pretty much no discussions with Arizona and then there's a few who are reporting that they're making a huge push. Good stuff.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) Hearing #chisox made 2nd best offer to #padres for a-gon. Once they were told no, they went for dunn. - Jon Heyman Wonder what our package consisted of, most certainly Dayan, not sure where we would have went from there.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) Could the Sox opt to move Alex Rios in order to create payroll flexibility? Not sure what his value is, but last seasons performance probably means you could move him if the club wanted. The hard part is that he is the centerfielder the club has needed for an extended period of time, but the Sox have Jared Mitchell in the wings and there are some other potential options of players you could find and it might free-up the payroll needed to address the bullpen. Not necessarily saying I'd endorse it, but it might be something to consider. Most everything we read people suggest Buehrle/Danks/Floyd/Quentin if the club were trying to shed some payroll but Rios has to be possibility. I still think he'd be hard to move especially if you're actually trying to get value back for him. Second, as you said we need his cf defense and we have nobody that could step in this season and take his spot. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) Makes you think the Sox have to consider moving Quentin or a pitcher to get some other younger players on board. One nice thing is that the Sox should shed pitching payroll with Buehrle/Peavy coming off the books relatively soon so that should enable you to at some point offer Danks a hefty extension (if the Sox feel that is in there best interest). I'm becoming more and more open to a trade of one of our starters, as long as the club is able to get two top 100 MLB ready pitching prospects with upside in return (which I'm not sure is a realistic expectation). I'm open to moving a starter as long as we get a pitcher who can step right in and take a rotation spot. KW said that Sale is going to be in the pen and if we're planning on contending this season(which we obviously are) than that's the right spot for him.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) I thought the deal fell apart? It did and then got put back together in a few hr span. Odd couple of hours to say the least.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 12:04 PM) The Score just reported that a newspaper report says that the Hornets may be relocated... and CHICAGO is one of the 4 cities under consideration. Stupid.
-
QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) JR: payroll should be around 110 million If this really is the case then D.Lee should with out a doubt be option A but that apparently isn't happening. If we bring PK back we're about to have to get real freakin creative.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) jaysonst Hearing #RedSox viewed #WhiteSox as main competition on Adrian Gonzalez. Before Dunn I assume. Kenny certainly isn't f***in around this offseason though.
-
Why do we have to shoot down a Joe Crede suggestion every single offseason? He's not good people, let it go.

I went laser tagging last night, best time ever!

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) He's in the John Danks/Gavin Floyd mold, but with a slightly higher ceiling and insane stuff. I don't see what's not to like. How so? Just because of age? Because he's certainly never come close to the production level of Floyd and Danks.
-
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) I think you're overvaluing Ramirez. He's an okay player who plays a premium defensive position and there is definitely value in that. I don't know if the Reds would do a Bailey/Ramirez deal. Bailey has top-of-the-rotation stuff. What now?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) Memories. It's funny. I really enjoyed the 2003 season as a whole. f*** that. If 2005 never happened I think I'd still be crying myself to sleep every night because of that damn season.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 02:03 AM) How good of a coach can Frank Beamer be if this team lost at home to a FCS school??? Or is the ACC that bad?? Va Tech is actually pretty damn good, that being said, there's absolutely no excuse for losing to James Madison. -
QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) Can someone explain to me how DR only averages 5 FT a game? The dude plays in the lane the whole game and gets hammered regularly. WTF? He honestly has too good of body control. He absolutely gets hammered going to the hoop all the time but because he's so damn graceful doing it, the refs are too idiotic to know that he's getting hacked.

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 06:45 PM) Yah he's got everything except age and recent performance. Somehow, with a 35 year old, I value injury and recent performance a little more than career OPS which includes seasons 5 years removed from now. He's a whole 6 months(thanks 3e8) older than Pauly and he literally had one bad half of baseball while producing at a very solid clip in the 2nd half last season. If I were a betting man, Lee and PK will put up similar offensive production this upcoming season.

Auburn-Oregon it is. I'm disappointed that TCU doesn't get there chance but this should certainly be an exciting NC game. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Which top tier Big 10 team did Illinois beat? I dont see OSU, MSU or Wisconsin. I doubt even Illinois fans would argue that Illinois is a National Championship contender, or deserves a shot at a National title. Wasnt that the argument? Who deserves a chance to play to be the best team? Fresno State has been one of the best WAC teams for a long time, and I believe they have the most wins against BCS teams of any non-BCS school. They definitely are one of the best non-BCS teams every year The argument was that the big 10 was so much better than the WAC that it skews stats and apparently everything else in the College Football world. And what the hell does Fresno State's past have to do with last nights game? -

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 03:21 PM) I'm cheering for either South Carolina or Oregon St. Don't care which one gets it done, just hope that one does. Would love to see TCU get a chance at the title. This. -
QUOTE (since56 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 06:43 PM) Konerko has a better bat. It's actually very close, Lee has a higher career ops though.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 12:40 PM) The fact that Illinois (a lower tier Big 10 team) was able to compete with an upper tier MWC team actually proves the point most in this thread have been making. Fresno is considered one of the harder games a team like Boise or Nevada plays. Those teams should not be losing to Illinois at home, Illinois only won 1 true road game in the Big 10 at Penn state. It just shows an average to below average Big 10 team is about as good as an above average MWC team. Fresno finished 5-3 in the WAC where as Illinois finished 4-4 in the Big 10, so what your saying here just really isn't true. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 12:02 AM) People have the right to their own opinions (no matter how ridiculous), and there ARE flaws in Dunn's game, as there are with almost every player. He expressed his, but it got destroyed because he didn't back it up with any factual information. If he backs it up with solid, sound reasoning, it might make sense. --- People say opinions can't be wrong but his is wrong, period.

The way the computer is set up at my dads, I can't see the TV but I just turned it on so I can listen to Gus in the background, awesome. -
Albert Pujols' ball in the 2005 NLCS is still the hardest hit ball in the history of life. Just saying.
