  1. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 01:31 AM) I think that's overrating the Bulls, who are a lot loser to NYK and Atlanta than any of the 3 other teams you name. And even within those, I expect BOS-Magic would be a fun series to watch. But with Miller back, I think the Heat will destroy anyone they play in the playoffs. Reports of the Heat's demise were greatly exaggerated...they're still the most talented team in the NBA and maybe in NBA history. I think by the end of the season they will have proved that out barring injury. They absolutely were, just as reports now of the Heat walking through the playoffs are completely exaggerated. Look, I still think the Heat are the best team in the NBA but they're not walking through the other top teams in the NBA once the playoffs arrive, there are too many really good teams around for that to happen. And just because I like to say it, when/if the Bulls are fully healthy, they can compete with anyone this season.
  2. Whirlyball and an open bar tomorrow night?!?!? Ya, that's what's up!
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) Mark! needs to stop doing incredible stuff. Every year he does something incredible the Twins win the division. This is a true story.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 07:49 PM) Besides greg? Rowand's slash line the last three years: .257/.318/.405/.723. Declining defense across the board. 2004/2005 was a long time ago. Nobody misses Rowand outside of nostalgia sentiment. I certainly don't miss Rowand and I don't even really hate the Cubs that much but there's something about seeing ARow in a Cubs uni that would irk me a bit.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) Do you mean his chokejob in game 7 against the Marlins? God that was such a wonderful night. I seriously might not be alive today had the Cubs won. Suicide was an option. Well not really. But you get the point. I will ALWAYS love those pesky '03 Marlins. Well, except for Juan Pierre. Hey, he hit a homerun that game! I actually just loved that Marlins team in general for some reason(looking back on it now, I have no f***in clue why) before they even met up with the Cubs.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 09:37 AM) Brandon Roy is becoming increasingly frustrated and is now complaining publicly about playing next to Andre Miller. It sounds like he gave a "it's him or me" speech to the Blazers management a few weeks ago. We'll take him.
  7. I love Bobby but I wish him nothing but the worst since he signed with Boston.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) Ok, so because I was getting bored with P90X, I joined a gym that has alot of the same type workouts, but with changes and someone other than Tony leading them. Weeek 2 for me at this gym and feeling awesome and much more motivated than before!! My dad got me a gym membership for hannukah. If I could just cut the beer out of my diet I think I'd be exactly where I want to be within a month. That being said, that's not happening anytime soon and I'm still damn close, I'm at 185(with not a lot of body fat, not sure what exactly but I'm judging by abs showing and what not) and think I'll be at exactly my goal by spring break at the latest.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 06:07 PM) FWIW, if I was in his shoes, and I was me, I wouldnt take a f***ing dime from the Cubs. I would take a free contract with the Sox. I admire his loyalty. I agree. Can't fault him at all here.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) Looks like the Heat are taking over. Wade has basically said f*** it and isn't waiting around for LeBron anymore. It was inevitable. No team with that type of talent is going to underachieve long. I want to be excited about the Buls. But it's hard when ultimately you know they have little to no chance against the Celtics, Heat and probably the Magic. Lets slow down on the Heat. Yes, I think they're going to end up being one of the better teams around but they're still under .500 against teams with a current record above the .500 mark and during this winning streak they've only beaten one of those teams on the road. Just as people were overreacting to the Heat struggles, I think people are overreacting to this win streak. As for the Bulls, when they're at full strength, I really don't see any reason why they can't compete with anyone in the Eastern Conference at this point.
  11. That's the beauty of the NBA. There's literally 0 chance of the Bulls missing the playoffs, so let him get fully healthy and be ready for the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, it really f***in sucks that as this team is starting to come together we lose one of our better players again for a period of time but we'll live.
  12. The only thing you got right in your post is that Konerko is going to regress from last season, that's a 100 percent fact but Adam Dunn will more than make up for that. Also, I'm not sure why everyone thinks Mark is going to fall back, he'll be just fine. I mean, who knows, there's been a ton of Sox teams that have severely disappointed me but barring injury, I just can't see how this is only an 85 win group.
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) If we got Wood (ha), we would have to be considered along with the other Sox the favorites no? Yankees have no rotation. And Rangers lost Lee. Wood or no Wood, the Red Sox are the clear favorites on paper and our Sox and the Yankees would be the only teams with even a remote shot at beating them. That's just on paper though.
  14. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) he used to do the towel drill all the time, hes been on the d.l. a million times (when he went on the d.l. in june,it was the 14th time in his career lol, so not the wrong cub) Prior was the towel throw king though. Wood was the master of the simulated games.
  15. I'm not crazy about giving middle relievers long term deals but god damn we're going to be really good this year.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) Haha I had that exact meal for lunch yesterday. At least it wasn't my last meal I Lucky. I've been on a strict diet for months now and that just hasn't been apart of it unfortunately.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) Cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

Lou Malnati's sausage pizza and a coke. That simple.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 14, 2010 -> 11:33 PM) He's one of the best center's in college basketball. Oakland has a very talented team and they have one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the NCAA. Absolutely. Every f***in game it seems like they're playing a top 25 team.
  20. Keith Benson of Oakland a couple of years ago was thought of as a lottery pick. His draft stock has taken quite the hit but he's still a pretty talented player that'll be on a NBA roster somewhere next season.
  21. The 4 playoffs teams from the AL in 2010 have just had miserable offseasons so far.
  22. Watching that Phillies pitching staff vs. that Red Sox offense in the World Series should be interesting.
  23. QUOTE (scenario @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 12:15 PM) Because one year of stats are always a good way to measure value. Yeah, I get it. Never mind that Rasmus struck out at a Jordan Danks like clip. Or that in 3 of the last 4 year, Buehrle has had an ERA below his career average of 3.85 In his 2nd full season in the majors. Do you think Rasmus has peaked at the age of 24? Colby Rasmus is their Gordon Beckham except he probably has a tad higher upside with the bat. He has much more value than Mark Buehrle at this point.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) I think that White Sox fans probably enjoy this video. Why the hell couldn't that have happened when the Twins were actually playing there?
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 10:22 PM) DeSean Jackson is such a f***ing f***head Yes he is and I f***in love it. Him and McFadden carried me and got me into the playoffs today for fantasy!
