QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 01:20 AM) Lately he's been taking some really ill-advised shots though, imo. Still playing ridiculous though. He's definitely forcing more shots this year as a whole but he's still shooting a decent percentage. I honestly haven't seen a lot of this west coast trip though minus the first two or so games so I'll take your word for it.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) And he backs up that statement with a solid night tonight. Him and Teague went beast mode, i like. It's hard to explain but when you watch you can just tell that Seck is the one guy out there that actually belongs and knows wtf he's doing. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) Teague was horrific against Purdue. I flipped the channel when he got the 6th travelling call against him(7th turnover at the time) Teague was awful against Purdue, period. The thing is, he's one of the few guys on this garbage squad that actually has the potential to be a high impact player. This traveling bug that he has really shouldn't be that hard to get rid of if we had anyone to coach this damn kid at all, it's really not that complicated. -
BTW, Rose is now up to 27, 8 and 5 a game, what a joke!

So my Saturday night consisted of going out to eat at the Olive Garden, going to see a movie and buying myself a 6 pack of good beer to go home and drink. I think this officially makes me old.

I'm almost in shock when I come home when I didn't watch the game and see that Joakim actually didn't have double digit rebounds.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) Please just beat Wright St. I wanna have some sort of hope going into the game against New Mexico. Btw Mamadou Seck is quickly becoming my favorite player on this team. Dude just plays balls out and deserves 30 minutes on the court Agreed. -
QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Been really busy at home during break. I was at the game against St. Rita and it felt great to repay them for what they did to us in the finals my junior year. LZ just keeps reloading every year and I really don't know how we've done it. When we won state my senior year I felt that was gonna be the last good year of football for a while for LZ. I was very wrong. This team is a perennial powerhouse and Stortz has a system that works very well. Here's to LZ beating WWS again for the state championship! And Rowand, LZ should still be undefeated, that game was bs. Ha, that was the first high school football game I went to in about 4 years and it was certainly quite the game to be at. Ridiculously fun.

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 09:03 AM) Every guy with a good season in a Sox uni will fall apart next season, He's not going to suck but there's a 0 percent chance that he repeats last season.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 08:14 AM) Yeah, but then LSU gets in ahead of them as a no loss SEC team, don't they? LSU lost to Auburn. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 01:22 AM) Thank you, Nevada. Hopefully this will finally shut up all the Boise St. lovers (e.g. Pat Forde). And me. Damn, that really sucked. Anyways, gotta admit that I was wrong on the Boise topic, the end. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) It may as well be. It's like MJ is talking directly to LeBron. ^Seriously. That's really awesome.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) I can tell Purdue Nation is scurred I know I'm scurred. At least the tickets were dirt cheap and I get a free hot dog with it! I've upgraded my expectations though, when we played Illinois I was hoping we could keep it with in 25, for this game I'm hoping we can keep it within 20! GO DAWGS!!! -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) This is also 20 years later, where the average player is MUCH bigger. Derrick is still bigger than the average pg though, so it's not really much of an issue.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) Even with his size issues, my big probelm with him is that he's constantly out of position on d. His positioning is definitely the main problem, his size really isn't that much of a factor at all, he's 6'3" while being very strong and athletic, definitely not too small for a pg.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) Except most of the balls Rowand dove for were out of the normal range of the average center fielder. Jermaine Dye was just straight up bad, Rowand was actually really good with the Sox. Ya, I'm not really sure when it became popular to rag on Aaron's defense but he was a very good cf when he was here.

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 25, 2010 -> 12:52 PM) Stewart's BB/K is horrible. He's averaged 2.5 to 3 K per BB since he was promoted to the Bigs. Even Uribe has a better percentage, and he was known as a free-swinger. Just cause he strikes out a lot doesn't mean he has bad plate discipline, the guy still takes his fair share of walks.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 25, 2010 -> 12:42 AM) Stewart's plate discipline makes Juan Uribe look like Nellie Fox. Or not. That being said, no thanks on Stewart. The guy is going to be 26 at the start of the season and has sucked away from Coors, I'm not a huge Morel fan at all but I'll live with him instead of trading Gavin away for a guy that we're hoping lives up to his potential.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) A small part of my soul, assuming I have one, dies whenever I hear the phrase " maybe coop can fix 'em?" This guy is a scrub and won't have any impact whatsoever for the Sox. Don't worry about it, Coop can fix souls too. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) They may be the most overrated team in the country. They have a 2nd tier PG...and yeah, that's about it. At least I can name 3 or more players off of any other top ten team. KSU? Not so much. Samuels and Kelly were a huge part of that elite 8 team last season so I'm sure you've heard of those guys. KSU does indeed look pretty bad so far but they'll be ok. Probably not a final four caliber team but they'll be in the sweet 16. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 11:50 AM) I wish him nothing but the worst. Agreed. This is literally the perfect situation for him though, he might put up some fantastic numbers this season.

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 09:20 AM) I'm 100% positive it happened the week of Thanksgiving. I remember it quite well: my sister was a big Rowand fan, and her birthday is Nov 25th. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, i went to Grandstand to buy her an autographed Rowand helmet. On the drive home, the trade was announced. Talk about unlucky timing. Ya, it was. I remember as well cause it was my freshman year and I was back home from school so it had to be the week of.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 09:03 AM) I wonder when the first big deal for the Sox will occur. When was the first big one last year? The Teahan deal was like right after the World Series but big time trades usually don't happen that early.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 07:29 AM) Obviously MSU is much better as a team this year than the Huskies, but I'm really looking forward to the Kemba Walker-Kalin Lucas matchup. Two quickest guards in the country Kemba's unreal. That was a good win for UCONN and a bad loss for WSU last night, not cause the Huskies aren't talented but a team full of upperclassmen has to win that game last night against a much more inexperienced team(minus Mr. Walker of course) this early in the season if they want to make an at large run later. -
QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 08:40 AM) How far along is the season up there? Do you guys play a 10 game regular season? Just curious because down here in Florida we just completed the first of 5 rounds of the state playoffs. It seems like you guys are further along. Ya, it's a 10 game season up here as well. The championships in each class are already set though and will take place this weekend.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 02:02 AM) Yeah he got talked up a lot in the papers, but I think it was just because he's 6'6". Salata is a star though. Nice kid too. Ya, Earl was supposedly getting a bunch of interest from some different MAC schools. We saw Toledo scouts there at one point and unfortunately for him that was the game he looked his absolute worst. And ya, Salata is quite the little player.
