  1. QUOTE (Real @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) Bulls cant hold the Spurs jock, the difference in talent is hilarious Bulls lose this game by at least 18 Well that's just crazy talk.
  2. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) Under McDermott, we win that game 64-44. Heh, fair enough(once again, you were right about him, I was wrong), wasn't trying to take anything away from the Clones, just stating how absolutely horrid the Valley is this season.
  3. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) I'll admit I'm wrong but I've seen enough U of I teams under Weber underperform to never take them too seriously. Yes, the MVC is just really bad this year. Just hoping my birds stay out of the thursday games in st. louis because it won't be as much fun if they don't make it to friday. At least those games will be televised this year so I can watch SIU when we're in it. It was awful enough being in that game to begin with but having to listen to it through a computer stream was pretty brutal, not to mention losing on a buzzer beater.
  4. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 11:04 PM) I like MSU and OSU. Don't see Purdue or UIUC living up to the hype. Completely disagree about U of I, that team is seriously talented and they got a great chance to make a deep run this year. And even with out Hummel, Purdue was able to make it to the s16 last season(Kramer is a big loss though) so lets not count them out just yet and you forgot to mention Wisconsin who as usual seems to be completely overlooked by everyone. And obviously OSU and MSU are legit National Title contenders. The big 10 is not overrated this season. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 11:06 PM) Feels great to completely s***pound a Valley team for the first time in a long time. Final was Iowa State 91, Drake 43 and it wasn't that close. It was 77-28 at one point. Iowa State could be real dangerous next year with Royce White, Chris Allen, Anthony Booker, Chris Babb and Scott Christopherson. And yes, Lutz was a major coup. The Valley sucks this season. WSU can play with the majority of the teams in the country but after that you have Missouri State who is solid but not spectacular and then you have pretty much garbage and the bottom half of the league is about as bad as I can ever remember it. It's awful.
  5. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) Big Ten is overrated as usual. The top of the big 10 is ridiculously good this year.
  6. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 09:23 AM) Raise your hand if you thought the Bulls would have a better record than the Heat.... I didn't. The Heat and the Lakers were the two teams that I didn't believe the Bulls would be able to compete with. Especially when we get Carlos back, we're going to be able to absolutely murder Miami inside, I'm becoming a believer.
  7. Man, some of you guys are over critical of Ronnie. This team doesn't really need much offensive production from the 2 guard spot, as long as him and Bogans are defending, we're fine. Anyways, Rose is averaging 25 and 9 now, are you f***in kidding me? He's ridiculous And Korver is shooting 61 percent from 3, if that guy is somewhat open, he just doesn't miss. This team is really, really good. Once we get Carlos back, we're going to be able to compete with just about anyone in a 7 game series, I'm quite excited.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) Butler is not impressive at all. I would say that they look quite horrendous today.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) Well, lets see if these Buckeyes are for real. They are. Your guys talent is fantastic this season.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Ooops, I missed where he said Sale. Well I'd definitely give up one of Danks/Sale, Viciedo and Morel for Upton and another piece. That I agree with.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) You're smokin' dope or somethin'. I'd give up ANYTHING for Justin Upton. My mom, dad, cousins, whatever. If what it took was one of Danks/Floyd, Viciedo and Morel then it's a wrap for me. Justin Upton is a unique talent that hasn't even sniffed his prime. You're going to give up Danks, Sale, Viciedo and Morel for Upton? Yeesh. I like Justin Upton as much as the next guy but trading that much talent for one guy is just too damn much imo.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 01:12 PM) For a 39 year old former steroid abuser who missed about 1/3 of last season with injuries and can't play the field any more? Manny was only worth about $6 million last year according to fangraphs. You might call that a bargain, but it's certainly not a ridiculous one. Just like there is no way PK matches his numbers from last season, there's no way that Manny is as non-existent next season. He's worth 5.5 easily imo. All the sudden you have a middle of the order hitter and you didn't have to cough up any talent or 10+ mill to get him and you should still have some flexibility to bring in another very good player, whether that's via trade or fa.
  13. QUOTE (3E8 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 11:53 AM) We are desperate for offense. Manny led the team in OBP and pitches seen per PA. And that's coming off injury. If the training staff thinks they can keep him healthy, this would be a no-brainer I agree. 5.5 for Manny seems like a ridiculous bargain.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 11:23 AM) Nobody called a time out. WTF There is a reason you can't just verbally call a time out. Any fan from the crowd can shout it. Thought only one who could verbally call for time is the coach. Whatever man, we got 2 free throws earlier in the half for that bogus technical they got. The refs didn't hose us, we're just garbage.
  15. Well that's the 2nd time we've done that in as many years now. And did we really have KBS setting a pick on the inbound defender when Carlton couldn't run the baseline?!?!?! LOL
  16. I feel like I need to apologize to the rest of the country that you guys have to watch at least 5 more minutes of this crap.
  17. If they put any kind of pressure on the inbounds passer here, it's guaranteed that we throw it away.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) SIU's half court defense has been very good today. They are just killing themselves with turnovers though which have let Northeastern get into transition in the 2nd half. Also, as an unbiased observer SIU has been on the short end of the stick on the calls in the last 5 minutes. Ya, the turnovers have lead to a ton of easy points, still the transition d has been pretty ugly even when we've had opportunities to get back. Half court defense continues to impress though. And there has been odd and phantom calls on both sides. That T on the Northeastern dunk a few minutes ago was laughable. And whichever player has position on either side is seemingly the one getting called for the foul, makes no sense.
  19. Our talent level is just so sad. And it's just fantastic to see that in his 7th season as a head coach Chris Lowery still doesn't understand how to run a zone offense or have an effective inbounds plays, f***in pathetic. On the positive side(I have to find something) our half court defense actually looked pretty decent that half. Hopefully when we're not completely outclassed like we were against the Illini we can be an above average defensive team this season. Also, if Stephen Bardo(a guy who is usually pretty well educated on SIU, he is from Carbondale after all) brings up Floorburn U again, I'm going to drive down to Carbondale and kick him in the face, that stuff died when the remaining starters from the sweet 16 team departed, and it's embarrassing for this group to be mentioned with it.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 07:38 AM) I think Cooper is 100% right when he stated flat-out that Sale will be in the big leagues next year. If no starter is traded and Peavy comes back, he'll be in the bullpen. If we plan on contending(which we always do) then Chris will definitely be in the bullpen to start the season.
  21. So who is excited for SIU-Northeastern in 50 minutes? It is actually pretty fun to wake up this early just to watch a basketball game.
  22. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) Who has played better this season? With out looking at stats, Phillip Rivers would be the only one I can even think of off the top of my head.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 10:42 PM) Please someone hire Gruden to be a coach so we dont have to hear him slurp the nuts of every player to ever put on a football jersey. I sincerely hope Tebow doesn't score a td next week or it's going to be unbearable with Gruden.
  24. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) Looking at the replays of Favre's interceptions, he seems to have a bad case of Jay Cutler Syndrome. That is, his WRs are falling down, or the balls get tipped off their hands right at a DB and the fans all jump on him for it and say he sucks. He does right now actually, but that's not the point. His receivers did fall down yesterday but both those passes, especially the one to Shiancoe were thrown way behind his players anyways.
  25. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) Really ESPN? Really? The Cowboys win is big because they are now 2-8 on the season? Really? 2-7. Obviously your point remains valid though.
