Who is your favorite MLB team outside the Sox?

Don't have one. Happy I could add to the thread. -
2010 Hall of Fame class is Andre Dawson
Rowand44 replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Diamond Club
So for those who actually saw Dawson play, was his defense that good? Cause his offensive stats are not impressive at all for a hall of famer. -
Go away, Leno and leave Conan alone.

This is beyond sad if true.

It's an absolute f***in joke that Robbie isn't in. Pisses me off. I know he's going to get in, but I would love to see one person that didn't vote for him try and justify it. Impossible.

QUOTE (3E8 @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) TCU's uniforms are cool I seriously think those might be my favorite uni's in any sport right now. They're f***in awesome. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) Outstanding move by Boston. Their defense has been elevated a ton with the additions of Cameron/Beltre. They're obviously attempting to get it done via pitching/defense in 2010. I like their chances. As much as it pains me to say, I absolutely love what Boston has done so far this offseason.

I think it's going to be the Chargers and the winner of GB-Arizona in the SB but I'll take the Packers for now.

That's about what I expected. It hurts a lot but I can't say I'm pissed as it's not like we were outclassed or anything. And yes Brian, specifically the 2 easy ones that JB missed and the dunk by Teague, if we make those easy ones we're obviously in a much better situation. And not to mention that Kevin's head was in his ass tonight, don't know wtf he was doing out there but I don't expect he'll play that bad the rest of the season. Gotta shake this one off and serve home against UNI at home. If we can beat UNI we'll be in pretty good shape here. -

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) That would be ISU-U of I haha. Ya great half by ISU not, were lucky to only be down 5. Tony Freeman was the biggest key for us, shutting down Osiris. We haven't played 2 halves once this year(not that we played that great either but still) so I expect no different here, I see Osiris going off in the 2nd and SIU losing by about 5 or so. Prove me wrong, Dawgs! -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) Fixed. Newb Welker torn ACL and torn MCL. Maybe he'll be back in Week 8 next year. Hmm...well shows you how much I'm going to be watching football tonight.

I really hope the Jets lose tomorrow and the Texans get in.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) I'd say Indy has earned the right to do whatever they want at the end of the season. I agree that shouldn't care about anyone but themselves. The problem is imo they're hurting themselves with this crap they're pulling.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) SIU-ISU I wont be attending either . Figured I'd stay up and watch this one on ESPNU, then go down next saturday and watch the UNI game. Ya, I was going to go today as well but my plans changed a bit with this one being on the U. Going back to Cdale in a few days though for both home games this week. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) And Wes Welker gives the argument about why the coaches that do that are right. Should probably tell Jim Caldwell that considering he played Manning today.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) Texas really struggled yesterday. Avery Bradley's been a bust so far this season, as Hamilton's probably their best freshman. I think Texas has amazing depth 1-10, but I'm not sure they have a scorer they can count on. Yes they did but it was one game and one they probably just didn't take very seriously. Bradley hasn't been great but I surely wouldn't call him a bust. And as for having a scorer they can count on, Damion James is definitely that guy. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) So after watching way too much college basketball yesterday, Kansas is far and away the best team in the country. Their defense is outstanding, great depth, and Self has them playing great. It's ironic, as their two superstars haven't even improved this season (Aldrich and Collins). Henry is the 2nd best freshman in the country, and the Morris twins impress me. As long as they stay away from football players, this team should easily make the Final Four. Texas is right there with them. But yes, there's no doubt that they should be in the FF come March. -
And Peyton Manning is playing...

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 2, 2010 -> 02:17 PM) And Plan C is rotating DH? There better be no plan C. This is the only hole we have left on the club, as long as it's not a long term deal(which I don't see any of the dh candidates getting) then we should be able to over pay just a little bit if need be.

I already forgot who was announcing the Illini game but I love how he said at least 5 times that Northwestern was unbeaten before they played Illinois a few days ago. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 2, 2010 -> 09:47 AM) I believe SIU is very close to realizing their potential both defensively and offensively, when they go on their runs they are pushed by defensive turnovers(the trap steal on Maniscalco last night in the closing 2 minutes was huge). The fact that there truly is no quit in them is tremendous. Hopefully Crowder can come back soon and make the bench that much deeper and give Dillard and Freeman a few more rest minutes The trap worked twice yesterday to my recollection, causing two turnovers. A ton of other times it led to layups, it doesn't work well with this group. Sure you can throw it out there every now and than, but we shouldn't be using it all game. What got us back into the game was actually the diamond press at the end, that's what caused all the turnovers. Playing a 2-3 zone for parts of a game makes a ton of sense for this team. Will help keep the dribble drive under control and allow Anthony and Nick to stay around the hoop more instead of chasing guards around the perimeter which all our bigs struggle to do. I really don't expect any of this to happen though, I'm sure we'll keep struggling defensively with what we've been doing.
