Halladay to Phillies in 4 team trade
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 08:18 AM) Like I said, Burnett is probably the only guy out of the pitchers you listed I wouldn't take over Buehrle. It's real close. I agree with your overall point but I'd definitely take Mark over Burnett and I'd also bet a lot of money that Danks will be our 2nd best if not best overall pitcher this season.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 09:09 AM) If both of the Freemans(especially Tony) continue to be hampered by injuries, the Salukis will have a tough year ahead of them. If they could get past that, they could put up a nice run in the MVC this year. Sounds like Tony has gotten almost completely healthy. John's injury doesn't seem to be getting better unfortunately, it appears he's just going to have to try and tough that one out the rest of the season.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 08:42 AM) http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/columns/...&id=4755711 Ha, we can probably be anywhere from 1-6 on that list. We've got to be the most unknown team in the nation so far. We have 5 blow out wins against absolute garbage teams but our two losses have come against a top 25 on the road where we had 3 or 4 guys who didn't even practice that week; and at a place where we haven't won at since the 90's with out our 2nd best player. We have the biggest, most athletic, most offensively gifted team we've had in my 5 years in Carbondale and yet it's impossible to know just how good we are at the moment. Tonight should at least show us something, not that USD is special but the game is away from Carbondale and The Terreros have at least beat some decent teams this season unlike the rest of the cupcakes we've pasted so far.

Hank Blalock
QUOTE (beck72 @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 05:55 AM) Hamilton and Quentin have similar question marks about health. The question is would the sox trade one risk for another risk? Would the Rangers? And that would solve absolutely none of our problems.

i am drunk in 2009
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 04:35 AM) Hard to believe. I'll probably be sober next Friday as well (Christmas.. family) so pretty much from Thursday/Friday (New Years Eve and Day) I should be good. Then again.. I had a few beers with the cousins last year for X-Mas watching football, so who knows. Ya, I just got back to Chicago from school late tonight. I was planning on getting home somewhat early so I can go out tonight but Chicago traffic and snow kind of killed my plans. So day drink tomorrow.

It is an over the air channel for pete sake that anyone and there brother could get for free with a set of rabbit ears? Because Mediacom is the worst f***in thing to ever happen to the world.

So one of our cats that we've had for about 16 years just died recently. Well, my mom decided to buy a kitten and the thing is very cute but god damn is it annoying.

Freddy Garcia vs. Daniel Hudson vs. other options
Huddy is a good fit in the bullpen to start the year. If Freddy gets hurt or just isn't right than Hudson takes his spot. But for now, it should be Freddy's spot to lose.

Panic! At the Soxtalk
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) Nope. AG upgrades the offense while creating a gaping hole in the rotation. Well it wouldn't be a gaping hole cause Huddy would step on in. That said I wouldn't be trading Danks either, cause I just don't want to f*** with this rotation, it's too damn good and John is a huge part of that.

Projected Sox Batting Order
QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) That's why they need to get another bat. Even if it isn't Gonzalez, they need to get another run producer. Jones and Kotsay aren't going to cut it. I think Kenny knows this, though. Like I've said before, I really don't care if it's a lefty or not, I just want another run producer for the middle of the lineup. That being said, adding a lefty bat really helps balance out the lineup nicely.

Projected Sox Batting Order
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) I got a feeling that when the dust settles, we'll see Milton Bradley DH'ing. If that's the case: Pierre Bradley Becks Q Konerko AJP Rios Teahan Ramirez
-
Projected Sox Batting Order
At this point mine would be something like: Pierre Becks Q Konerko AJP Jones Rios Teahan Alexei This looks better though: Pierre Becks Q Adrian Gonzalez Konerko AJP Rios Teahan Alexei

White Sox acquire Juan Pierre
QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) Buehrle disappeared after the perfect game. Just sayin'. He had a bad month of August and bounced right back in September.

State of the Pen: With Putz In, Carrasco Out
I expect Putz to be just fine and I really believe that Tony Pena is going to be an absolute stud this season. Jenks and Linebrink still worry me to death though. Thornton is going to do his thing and I believe Huddy will provide quite a boost to the club. Lots of question marks obviously but if(big if) Jenks can bounce back then I think we'll have a real solid pen, no matter what Liney brings to the table.

White Sox acquire Juan Pierre
QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:29 AM) Oh and had the best staff and pen this organization has ever had. Um...? Really? You don't think it's possible for this to be the best rotation we've ever had?

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:32 AM) Ely and Link http://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/6702106304 Good stuff.

White Sox acquire Juan Pierre
Well assuming we didn't give up Hudson, we still have Huddy, Danks2, Dayan and Flowers all still around and every hole filled except that big middle of the order hitter(another lefty reliever is obviously somewhat of a hole as well), Kenny might start up the full court press for Mr. Gonzalez.

White Sox acquire Juan Pierre
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:09 AM) Pretty predictable. I'm certainly not thrilled with this move. But you know what they say, beggars can't be choosers. The 'ideal' leadoff guy out there for us to somehow acquire simply doesn't exist. If Pierre can sport a .350/.360 OBP, and he BETTER be in LF, I can't complain too much at 8 million over two years. Let's just pray to god Jared Mitchell pans out and is ready for The Show come 2012. Huge key to everything right there.
