September 8th: Chicago vs. Minnesota
Rowand44 replied to Flash Tizzle's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 01:40 AM) Useless response, Rowand... EDIT: Useless to respond is probably better wording. It's something everyone is going to have to drop eventually I suppose, but some of the things being said just don't make any sense to me. EDIT: I understood what you were saying. It's all good. -

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 12:25 AM) Who cares about a meaningless draft pick that the Sox will be unable to sign or pick the wrong guy anyway? Give me a win like tonight anyday!!! Great win, White Sox. Go Sox! So a draft pick that can actually have an impact for this organization is meaningless yet a game that can't do anything for this franchise has meaning? -

The biggest comeback in White Sox history

We didn't win the game, but this thread reminded me of the Arnie Munoz game 3-4 years back in Montreal. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) We had to put our cat to sleep today (only 4/1/2). The cat ended up having a kidney problem and they think it is from bad catfood (even though the food we use was not part of the recall, but I guess every company uses some sort of product that comes from China and it is what can cause the issue). Its amazing how much a pet means to you and how sad it is when they have to leave. Pets really are part of the family. Sorry man. I've been there and it hurts.

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) Brilliant chant after the game from LZ fans, "Go Home Steven-son!", not realizing the game was indeed AT Stevenson. lolz -

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) Stevenson has the weakest fans ever. Didn't hear s*** from them all game. LZ's student section doubled Stevenson's and Stevenson was at home! Go Bears! Everyone misses me, they need a full 4 years to recover. -
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) Didn't they lose two of three last time they faced Houston? No.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 05:35 PM) So to kick us fans in the balls a little bit more, is this the part where the Sox go on a small winning streak at the end of the season to end up with the fifth overall pick instead of #2? 'Cause that's what I'm feelin'... There's no doubt. This team does everything they shouldn't do. -

Oregon trying to be tricky. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 01:38 PM) KW will overpay for some relievers this year, either via trade or free agency. I gotta feeling that will happen as well.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) Price was #1 on my board by a long shot. He's got it all. Ah, the ol' Jason Gage draft board, more teams need to follow your board me thinks.

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 01:23 PM) Yep, Stevenson and Libertyville are not very good. Warren beat Libertyville last night. Lake Zurich is very good. Lake Forest is even good. Ha Ha @ Stevenson! So it looks like we'll miss the playoffs in the first time since...? Been a long time. EDIT: So Brian, Libertyville and Warren are 1-2 and Stevenson is 0-3? Wow. Nutso, never thought I'd see that. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 01:14 PM) I really don't know what the deal with Mac is. I have at least seen some flashes from Thornton, but MacDougal has just been terrible. He had a good stretch to start the season, but so did Aardsma. Mike was so solid last year, I really had high hopes for him. I just haven't seen ANYTHING from him to tell me he should bounce back next season, and I have been looking hard. I agree but he has a track record and his stuff is still there. Who knows what's wrong with him, but with bullpen inconsistancies from year to year it's kind of hard to give up a guy with a good arm who has shown that he can be a good reliever. I wont be too disappointed if we deal him but I just don't want to get rid of him just to get rid of him.

The biggest comeback in White Sox history
Rowand44 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 12:56 PM) You're probably right I haven't seen that game in a few years, I'll have to find the VHS I have of the game and take a look. Ya it's hazy on my end as well but I think it was a breaking ball. Like I said, not 100 percent on that though. -
QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) if that were true the drays wouldn't have taken price #1 overall it would've been Rick Porcello. Well I wasn't talking about signability, that's obviously become a huge factor in the draft. I'm just saying that MLB teams don't draft by need.

The biggest comeback in White Sox history

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) That would be #1 on my list. 2 HR from Pauly after being hit in the head by a Kerry Wood fastball, such sweet revenge. It also produced the coolest bat flip in White Sox history when Konerko deposited his 2nd homerun into the left field stands. I thought he got hit in the head with a breaking ball. I could be wrong on that though. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) The only 3 guys I absolutely without a doubt would like to see in next year's pen are Jenks, Wasserman and Logan. I won't shed a tear for any of the rest. I'd bet that Mac and Thornton(especially Matt) have bounce back years next season. I want Thornton back next season and I wouldn't mind if Mac is back either but having almost the same bullpen would look pretty poor.

I honestly had no idea until you made this thread and then I looked at the recap. Cool I guess? What a weird f'n season. -
QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 11:10 PM) Haha f*** Stevenson! Go LZ!!! 16-7 LZ BABY!! You used to be cool.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) The Cardinals pathetic infield defense, led by Miles and Branyan, have cost them two runs so far tonight. With Hudson possibly out for the year, I pray that if the Cubs make the playoffs, they don't face the Dbacks. That team is awful. If the Diamondbacks are awful, what are the Cubs? I think Brandon Webb alone throwing left handed and batting with his eyes closed is enough to beat the Cubs.
